Do you think WDW will be building a new theme park soon? Maybe in the next four or five years or so? If they do...i wonder what it will be themed to. Just wondering! :wave2:  ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

:D

I don't think Disney will be building a new park for two reasons:

It just isn't in the plans and there isn't any reason to bulid yet another park. Despite what many people think, Animal Kingdom is not a completed park. There's still more that will end up there, such as Expedition: Everest. I think the company is going to put a lot of focus on new rides at the old parks as well as maintaining and enhancing the great theme park experience only Disney can provide. I know there has been talk about a Villains park or Beastly Kingdom, but I can't see that happening within the next 5 years. Besides, think of how much more time you will need to see everything. Yes, it will attract some guests who have the money, but they may alienate many others who might feel the Disney experience is only available to those who can afford it, which might not be too many. I like the way it is now (as far as the number of parks is concerened).

I agree with Mickey76. I personally would like to see a new land added to AK first....I'm dying for an Australia themed land in that huge space between Africa and Camp Minnie Mickey!

As much as I would love to see a new park at WDW, and I know Disney owns enough land there, I just don't think it's a wise idea for a long time. At this point, you simply wouldn't be attracting many more guests, and you would just be taking attendance from the other parks and spreading it out. They need to wait until the current parks are at higher capacity throughout the year, which I do think will eventually happen.

That would be great... I'd also enjoy South America, which would fit in really well with all of its rainforest wildlife. Neither of those continents is represented in Epcot either, so I think putting them in AK would be a great fit.

I could swear I heard they were planning a sea animal park on the idea of Sea World but different. I could be wrong though. Who knows.

Samatha, maybe you are thinking about Tokyo DisneySea. It looks fantastic, but I would really hate for Disney to do that to Sea World. Not only is Sea World a great park but they do so much to help injured and endanged animals I would hate to see them put out of business. I would like to see an entire America park. You could represent all of the states/regions of this great country. They had tried to do and American History type park in Virginia many years ago but the locals wouldn't allow it. I bet some of those plans are still around, but I don't think they have the money to do anything else that big anytime soon. Also I agree that it is so hard to see/do it all now as it is. Most people just can not do more than 1 weeks vacation.

Well there have been rumors that there will be two new water parks within the next 10 years...they are redoing river country with a volcano theme. I haven't heard anything about a new theme park beyond this though.

Why don't they ever mention RIVER COUNTRY when they speak of the water parks...did they close it down???

At one of the DVC booths we were told that there is a lot of available land still on Disney property and that there are plans in the works for new theme parks among other things. I can't see it happening in the next 4-5 years, but I can see it happening at some point. WDW has been steadily expanding since it first opened.

laceemouse...i have to agree with you SeaWorld is such a great park because it also nurses injured animals back to good health and releases them such as manatees that are injured by boat propellars...i would most definately hate to see them go out of business...especially since they help poor species that are injured by humans...:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I really hope that they do NOT move forward with an additional park for some time to come. The current state of theme park development--with legitimate "E" Ticket attractions under construction at EVERY ONE of the four current parks--is a GREAT sign. Annual attendance at AK is only a fraction of MK or Epcot. They really need to continue to reinforce these destinations before they consider another.

Think of all of the millions of dollars in infrastructure it takes to construct a park. Sewers, utilities, landscaping, restaurants, gift shops, park services, parking lots!!! And that's before they build a single attraction!

Put those dollars into the current parks.

Personally, I'm hoping for the day when Animal Kingdom is more than a half-day park.

How about some new countries in WS, or adding some rides to the current countries? Like resurecting the Rhine river boat ride idea in Germany. The building is already there, just being used at times as a warehouse or a practice area for events. :teeth:

I don't think they really need another boat type ride(El Rio De Tiempo and Maelstrom). But, the WS does need to be spiced up with a new ride or country.

OK, no boat ride, but since the building is already there, something..... but no coaster please.

C'mon everybody, you are dreaming! AK hasn't been finished yet. Each of the parks will get a new attraction in the near future and that in my opinion is about the best we can hope for in the near future.

Mr. Ei$ner is currently in a fight for his survival, but he was slashing theme park budgets even before this current threat. Too bad his annual compensation package didn't get slashed as well!

I'm sure the dreamers have plans somewhere for the next theme park, but I think the original question about a new theme park is about ten years too early.

I heard that they have plans to open a new park in 2009. They want to open a park that is for all thrills. A park that has more roller coasters than any other in the United States with the best rides than any in the country. I heard plans about one of the new rides being developed. I think it would be terrific! I love Disney the way it is, but I know a lot of people wish there would be more thrills. And c'mon, no one does a coaster like Disney. Imagine a whole park of them!
:teeth:

Now THAT, outstandinfarme, would be AWESOME!! Can you imagine the combo of ever popular coasters and Disney????? I know they would get alot of my money!!!!!!!!!!

I know, hey? I love Disney but they have always been lacking something and was a lot of roller coasters! I would love to see more of those! I agree, they would get a ton of my money. (Just what I need, less money in my wallet! Oh well. Anything for Disney)
