Disney's New "Magic your Way tickets" and 2005 Packages

I have an unusual question...We we planning a trip in Oct 05, arriving on the 28th, and leaving on the 5th of Nov. We will stay a total of eight nights. We only need the 7 day ticket with just the park hopper option...so I have that figured out...here is my question..We want the dining for the entire length of stay..so eight nights....can we buy the the dining package for those 8 nights and only buy the 7 day tickets with the park hopper option? TIA!

I agree with ILoveWDW2003. In the past, when rooms were discounted, so were the packages, by the same amount. I haven't read a whole lot, but this looks like a pretty good deal with all the ticket and dining options. The dining option is basically what DW and I did anyway. Food for our family (2 adults, 2 kids) used to run 150-200/day easy. Soon enough, there will be a list with the best places to go for the $$. (like the meal vouchers). And I don't think you will limited on what you can dish you order.

I'm sure some limits are on the way. I noticed yesterday that Beaches and Cream is listed as both a counter service and snack option. I'm sure the Kitchen sink will be excluded from those. If not, my son and I will be there in April.

I've been looking over the menus on Deb's site to figure out which places will give us the best deals. So far I've decided not to use any of the table service options for lunch. The great thing about this is that I get to include restaurants that wouldn't even be an option if I had to pay the menus prices.

I really suck at math, so all the mumbo-jumbo about price per adult really confuses me. I was thinking about that this morning. I am thinking that since DS stays for free in our room that I should just take the hotel rate and split it in half (half for DH, half for me) then add the cost of the park passes to arrive at my "per adult" rate. The way I have it set up right now my price is $337 per adult for four days, four nights with the OLD 4 day PHP. I think if I bought a package with the hotel at rack rate and the MYW tickets with hopper added the price would be $398. If I understand correctly, you may not add dining to existing reservations. BUT they (and we) won't know for sure until January 2. Very confusing. I suppose I need to figure out the total cost of what I have now and have it in front of me when I call on January 2. I said I was going to just leave it alone, but that isn't working very well. I must investigate all possible options!

If I ready everything correctly, they are making the WDW packages more visitor friendly with more options.

I know that with the new packages you no longer have to get the length of stay ticket. If you want to only go to the park 4 out of 7 days you can buy a 4 day park pass. Since this seems more visitor friendly, I can't see why you couldn't add the 8th day of dinning on it. Now this is just my opionion. It looks like we will all have to wait until Jan 2nd to find out.

I hope we'll be able to add on dining to existing package . I've got tentative Dream Maker package reservations for 2/7 - 2/12 at Pop Century for 2 adult/1 child (I've got until the 8th to put down my deposit). I'm hoping to be able to switch to the MYW with Hopper and Dining. Assuming we can keep our discounted room rate it would work out well for us.

I never really considered the Dream Maker Silver package before because I didn't grok the dining options mixed in with all the "magical wishes", but it's laid out much more simply in the Magic Your Way dining plan. I get it now and I want to add it on. Hopefully they'll cooperate with guests trying to upgrade their packages.

This is a much better deal. We are going to be able to add on 2 days for the same as we would have been paying for a 5-day! WOO HOO!!!!

I think Disney wised up and now sees that if they lower the cost of the park visit for people to stay more days, these same people will spend more on food, souvenirs, etc.

To my understanding, these packages are not for length of stay - that you create your own. Like, I will probably end up booking the 6 nights packages - with parkhopper, no expiration (I'm going to buy a 10 day ticket) plus add dinning to only 3 days. My family of 3 (DH, DD4, and myself). We don't eat that much when while at theme parks - food weighs us down!!! . We could have 1 good meal a day (plus snacks - but DD will eat breakfast - maybe a bowl of cereal).

Also, I've been doing some math. A friend a mine booked a Dream Makers w/Princess add on Package for 4 days 3 nights in a Moderate resort for $1413.XX (lets just say $1414) For August 2005. Her family consist of 2 adults 1 junior, and 1 child. With the new packages (according to Disney's Website) you can book 7 days 6 nights at a Moderate Resort for under $1800 and the fine prints read based off of 2 adults 1 junior and 1 child (During Regular Season) - pretty much all summer is regular season at the Value and Moderate Resorts - its Value time at the Deluxe resorts. Now she would upgrade only the hopper option paying $140 extra. Making her package appropriately $1940. That's really not so bad. A difference of $526 for double the time. They didn't need the water parks because they had plus options for many old tickets. This might really work out!!!!

Well, I guess we will not be doing the Dining option - I'd have to see if it is all worth for me - I just don't see us eating $80 worth of food daily - well, if we could sub for a counter meal for a breakfast meal especially a character meal - yeah it would be worth it - considering if I bought the vouchers the VKL's for $31 for 2 adults and $12.75 for 1 child = $75.75 plus I know I'd get a snack or two a day -Yeah now I think the dinning option is really worth it !!!!!!! I just answered my own question!!!

Wow here is another - lets say you are staying only those 7 days onsite but an extra week off site and you didn't eat all your meals (like use all your day on your tickets - they are good for 14 days - could we still have the remaining meals are do you actually have to eat 2 meals + snacks a day to prevent from losing them!

It's hard to say since no one really knows how much the new Magic Your Way Package will cost. You really can't get a per person price off of the information that WDW or anyone else has sent out. As far as the dinning part goes, $35 a day is cheap. I figured it would cost atleast $100 a day to eat at Disney. So if your there for 10 days that is atleast $1000 compared to $350.

I can't believe that WDW is going to make us all wait until a month findout how much a vacation package is going to cost. Sure they have to train there employees on the new packages, but atleast give us better information than "will be less than $1500".

I agree. I wish they would at least let us know how much everything will cost, then say we can't book until January 2. Also let us know if AAA will be able to book these packages at a discount.

My son and I will be there for 7 nights the last week in April. I'm planning to book the package with the dinner add on. We'll need the hopper option and the water park, DQ add on.

It's driving me nuts not to have a firm figure to deal with. My son wants to take a friend with us, but I can't mention anything to his father yet because I don't have any hard numbers to give him.

Oh well, in just 4 short weeks I'll be able to get all the information I need.

The only options I have seen for length of stay for the new MYW plans show 3nights/4days or 6 nights/7days. If you wanted to do the 6n/7days but only go to the parks 4 days, the other two being UV or others outside parks, the new plan wouldn't be a better option, as you must get park passes, dining options, etc for the whole length of stay.It is a better deal if you don't plan on doing anything other than disney parks, which what I think was the intention

You and me both. I am waiting to make a choice on doing the new Magic Your Way Package or do the AAA rate than the tickets. I really don't want to put a room only deposit down and then have to get that refunded and put a $200 deposit on a package. I would prefer to only do one or the other, but at some point soon, I am going to have to do something since I am going May 27-June 6 over Memorial day weekend. We all know how quickly resorts go during holidays once people start looking at there plans for 2005.

While it's annoying to have to wait, I'm glad they told us now because I was going to start shopping for tickets. Now I know I'll have a lot more to think about! We have AAA reservations for April and I'm waiting to see if anything better will come along. I love the new dining add on, but if the packages are only full price, it's not going to be worth it for us.

I agree. With me since I am going for 10 days (I hope ), it will all depend on the package. If it can be done cheaply then ok, but if it will cost a ton, I will have to do a shorter trip.

I am really excited about this new ticketing policy. We love WDW but haven't been able to justify the price this year. I really hope to visit WDW during the Holiday season next year. This may make it feasible - especially if I give tickets to each of the kids for their birthdays in 2005.

I believe that with the new MYW you do not have to buy tickets for the entire length of stay if you do not want to. Only the dining is worded as having to be for the entire length of stay. Of course we are all just speculating right now until someone is able to actually book one of these packages.

Yes you will be able to still use your "old" tickets after Jan 2005.

Does anyone know if you can get the add on meal plan if you stay at the Dolphin or Swan?

Yes. According to what I have read the Swan and Dolphin are included.
