I am trying to figure out if the week me and my family are to disney will be really slow. Right now I am booked at Pop for January 13-18. Disney's Marathon weekend is January 11-13. How much does this impact the park? We are going to go to Magic Kingdom on the 13th regardless what color it is listed. It's my daughter's first trip and I want her first day at Disney to be at the MK. So, how busy is the sunday going to be and do people normally stay at disney the week following the races? Should I move my dates? Or am I over stressing and should just chill out? :scared:

TIA:goodvibes

Just don't have an early ADR at the MK or the MK resorts on Sunday morning.

There are a lot of people on these boards that go for Marathon Weekend every year. I'm sure they could answer your questions. If you go down to the WISH board in the Just for Fun section, you'll find them there. Even better.... at the top of the WISH board is a sub-section called Events/Competitions (or something like that) where you can probably get some good accurate answers to your questions.

We were just there Jan 7-13, 2007. The 7th was the Sunday of the Marathon weekend, but we did not feel any impact at all. By the time we arrived, it was about 3pm and we just spent the afternoon at our resort. We left for dinner at Chef Mickey's @ 5 and then went back to the resort to get the kids to bed. Monday we hit MK, and it was really not too crowded at all. We were told that it had been quite busy the past few days but that it was much quieter by Monday. The whole week we were there was not too bad at all. I think it's a great time to go! :thumbsup2
