Resort Thread Disney's GRAND FLORIDIAN Resort & Spa + Construction Updates!! **LOBBY REFURB STARTED 4/14**

Okay, not to get obnoxious with suggestions, but I also like sitting at the bar at Tambu Lounge over at the Poly. It's upstairs next to Ohana. They have appetizers only (similar to Enchanted Rose at the GF) but the apps at either location can be a light meal. I particularly like the wings and potstickers at Tambu Lounge, and I like the casual bar atmosphere in that location at the Poly. I think they open at around 4. Enchanted Rose at the GF doesn't have food until 5. Of their appetizers, I've only had the flatbread. It was pretty good. ER has an outdoor terrace which is nice if you want to sit outside.

I’ll be Club level the whole week, so I’ll dive into what they have there first. I love your suggestions though. I can definitely do apps & cocktails as my “dinner”. I’ll post pics for sure.

Oh! Well, if you're staying RPC at the GF, then you'll be all set, except for maybe wanting a nice dinner or two. I'm jealous!

I have a two BR Main Building Suite on the 5th floor. Since I have seven nights, I did book Citricos & GF Cafe for one night each. Hopefully I can treat a few folks for dinner.

How dated are the club level rooms? Does anyone have pictures of the rooms?

The std and tpv rooms look like what is posed on wdw site. If room picture you find has a red sofa thats the one. No one ever/rarely posts pix of the suites so I am not sure. Gf is currently doing a remodel but only BC on resort side is completed. There are no dates as to when RPC will get theirs FYI.

Came here to post with a wedding next year I canceled my resort studio (DVC) room and booked a GV room with AP discount for the same dates. For 2 days saved me $460. I then called and requested BC and hope we get it but if not we arrive late the 1st night and have MVMCP the next so it is not a deal breaker.

I would not mind getting put in SL..... love that location.

I think it is a nice location.

It is in between both pools.

It is not far from the end of the building to main building on rainy days.

Views from all sides are nice too. Lagoon side faces poly, TPV faces the castle and std view faces the courtyard pool.

Also you are not far from the walking path to Poly if that appeals to you.

Agree about 2 beds, that is nice!

Well I also figured its better next spring to stay somewhat away from the construction that will be full steam at poly at that point.. ( I HATE IT! ) and I heard the DVC regular villas are closer to that. The only thing that would upset me is if the lobby is being renovated and I can't go in. Never been

Ya that would be disappointing for sure!

Hard to say . I hope they do 1st floor then 2nd floor separate so people at least get "some" of it. With dining there I can't imagine they can close it all. Fingers crossed for you!

Construction Continues on Balconies and Exteriors of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa​

Construction continues at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, which is undergoing a big refurbishment. Earlier this month, the Boca Chica building reopened amidst the renovation.

Construction walls still wind around other buildings of the resort.

We can see tarps in the windows of this building.

Scaffolding covers a section where crew members have been working on the roof and balconies.

We could see a crew member inside a gable above one entrance.

Many of the stairwells of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort have been reconstructed.

A maze of construction walls leads to the Grand Floridian docks.

More construction is visible on the side of the building along the water.

There is scaffolding around the first floor.

A ladder was on an upper-floor balcony.

Man, brutal access to the boat dock with that and Narcoossee’s going on. Prepare for double stroller head on collisions and congestion!

No not at this time. The walls are back by the boat dock/conch and some of BC . The area from lobby to courtyard pool should be clear. Lots of green!

There is a video included of the lobby and room. Looks pretty much the same just without the microwave.
EDIT: sorry this is the dvc . Did not read fine print lol.
Probably will still look pretty similar. Hope to see it myself 11/16.
