Resort Thread Disney's GRAND FLORIDIAN Resort & Spa + Construction Updates!! **LOBBY REFURB STARTED 4/14**

If you are just at the 60 day out mark, then keep checking for reservations. Not all restaurants post their availability at 60 days out. Some of them take a few days or so to post them. :)
Thanks, just seemed so strange to have tons of lunch and dinner availability and zero breakfast openings in 9 days. I'll keep checking, hopefully breakfast opens up soon! I booked the earliest lunch times but would be great to get in even a bit earlier if possible.

Citricos is only open in the evening. The lounge is walk up. It is very large and has the full menu! It’s nice to wing it and just show up when hungry vs having to plan around a meal you booked 60 days prior IMO.

ER also has a small menu. Dd always needs that cheese plate.

Gf is currently the only resort having room service. We have done breakfast and it’s so nice to just take your time!

Kona at poly is closing in August so many from there may be eating at gf for breakfast. Keep that in mind. Keep looking these always change and they do have a walk up wait list if needed.
Oh that's good to know. I'm going to keep our Citricos dinner adr for now but may cancel later and just do walk up for the lounge. I love the lounges! Also interested in checking out ER.

I didn't know GF was the only resort with room service, we will take advantage of that at least 1 or 2 times!

Looking forward to our first WDW trip since Covid started, seems like a whole new world there! Park reservations, Genie, etc., trying to figure it all out again. :hyper2::magnify::scared::cool1:

Pm me if needed. I have gone more often post Covid than before. I work from home now and need to SEE people to keep my sanity 😅

I am very comfortable with genie + too.

Hi all! Booked a trip for Christmas to stay 2 nights in the resort studio - standard view. If any one has any pointers on a first time stay at the GF - please let me know. I'm excited and thrilled I can share this with my mom as a surprise.

Thanks, Genie+ seems like a giant mystery, I'm going to watch some YouTube videos to try and get it down! You're so lucky to get to go so often!

We also have our first stay at the GR coming up, resort studio - standard view. I'll post back after our August trip with any pointers I pick up.

New question - are they currently renting pontoon boats at the GF? If so, how far can you go?

Yeah, an example of the "now" version without several trees. Really just those two trees on the left that are in front of a handful of rooms.

This view almost makes me not want to book a lake view for the new rooms, cause I love Poly so much. I don't want to stare at it all day and night and wish I booked a few nights there lol esp with those torches at night

Found these pictures of BPK on Facebook from last night… someone also posted this this morning:

NOTE: You must do your check in at the MAIN HOTEL desk for these rooms, NOT at the original DVC building. Please also note that they have 700 check-ins booked at the Grand Floridian overall today.

Some additional guest area photos, I know someone was curious about laundry rooms. Also, microwaves CAN be Requested!!

Surprises are fun!

My must do’s are seeing EWP, riding the boat from MK or just to poly.

My mom loved gf when I took her a few years back.

Keep in mind dining options. I love to mobile order kids meals as a snack, sometimes you just want a bite of something.

Yes! We stayed in this bldg. last summer. I've been watching them do construction on "my" room and I am not even DVC! Well, maybe I will need to learn how to rent points or whatever it is called.
You can also book online called “ cash” reservations.

I haven’t seen them show up yet , but should be soon.
