Disney's Fantasmic Dinner Package

My family and I are going to Disney the week before Easter. We know it is going to be busy and really want to see Fantasmic again. We were thinking of purchasing the Fantasmic Dinner Package so we can have dinner and then see the show with reserved seating. Has anyone done this? Is is worth it?

Hi! We did the Fanasmic Dinner Package on November 22nd. It worked fine for us. It was not that expensive; we had a nice dinner, and were able to sit very close to the front. We arrived to the theater about 30-45 minutes before the show started and about 3/4 of the general seating section was full.

From the research I did before our trip, I saw that without the priority seating you would need to arrive over 1 hour before hand to get in line for seats.

Of all the times we have been to Disney, I had never seen Fantasmic, so it was worth it to me to make it a special evening and have good seats.

Totally worth it. Also if you are on the regular dining plan and use it for the Fantasmic dining package you get an appetizer! We ate at Brown Derby last week and had the Fantasmic package but I got sick with the stomach flu (started feeling bad right before dinner) and we left before the show - I didn't even get to enjoy my dinner but it sure looked good. I passed on our voucher to another couple to use. We went back later in the week just for Fantasmic and got there an hour early and the stadium was already packed.

Is is worth it not to stand in line for 2 hours? Sure. It's a "free" perk. We just did this last month. We ate at Hollywood & Vine - which was totally skippable, completely mediocre meal, won't dine here again - and took our time getting over to the show. We were just right of the center section up towards the top but had a tremendous view of the whole "stage" area, including all of the water.

We think the package is worth it, especially if you are going at a busy time. We don't do it at slow times just because we like to eat at the 50's Prime Time or leave the park and go to Spoodles and neither participates. But when its going to be busy, we go to Hollywood and Vine if we can get the package. The buffet is decent there. Mama Melrose is overpriced Italian but also OK. Brown Derby we've never tried.

We've done the package twice. The second time there was lightening so the show was canceled, so that was disappointing. We went w/o a package the Thurs. before Easter last year. Didn't have the dining plan and didn't want to waste time at a TS. By the time we got to the entrance, it was 45 minutes before the show and the place was packed. We had to go to the standing area way at the top. I will never go w/o the package unless it is a very unbusy time.
I urge you to make reservations.

Thanks for the feedback. You've convinced me to make the reservations. I've looked at the menus for the restaurants and I know my kids won't like what is at Hollywood & Vine so I think I'll go with the safe bet at Mama Melrose.

What happens if the show is cancelled that night due to weather? Do you get the seating for a different night or am I out of luck?

If the show is cancelled you are out of luck. I've sat through Fantasmic in the drizzle but I understand they do cancel for heavy rain, high winds, etc. Its not safe for the performers.

We did it thi syear as I like the idea of not having to sit as long with my 3 kids. We are going to be doing aagain next year as I figure now Fantasmic is down to 2 shows a week its going to be busy

I agree that H&V is very medicore and totally skipable. We have eaten there for lunch and dinner and was not impressed either time.
