Resort Thread Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS Resort

For those that use DCL transportation from Coronado to PC, what boarding group did you get? We are staying before Wish in September and the Treasure in April so I’m just curious.
Last March we got boarding group 3 from CSR. We had originally planned to drive to the port and park the rental at the port but found out our post cruise plans changed in Cocoa Beach so we were going to just head to airport after the cruise. Decided to just take the DCL transfers to and from the cruise to make it easy. Originally we had a 12:30 ish PAT and high boarding group but once we added the DCL transfers it changed automatically to BG #3 and an earlier PAT. Oh...also it took 2 buses to transport all the guests. The buses first stopped at Animal Kingdom Lodge then on to us at CSR. There was a DCL rep in the lobby of the tower to help with organizing the buses and handing out luggage tags if you didn't get them prior to hotel arrival (like us). They picked up our checked bags from our room pretty early....like before 8:00 am. The buses were not themed DCL but regular Academy buses. I think getting the DCL bus is hit or miss.

Thank you! We had 4 with AKL last year and just had 6 at Pop last month so I thought it would be 5. I’ll take whatever they give me, I’m just blessed to be able to cruise Disney.

Not a great kickoff to my CSR Tower stay this time around. The buzzing/high pitch from the fire speaker was too much. I’ve heard a little on previous stays but after half an hour I couldn’t take it. Engineering was called who showed up and said nothing can be done. Front desk said I could only move out of the Tower as engineering is now reporting all tower rooms are having that sound right now.

Fine, out I go. They let me pick my section. Said I’d get a $190 refund for a water view (very generous being willing to reimburse the difference in room price 🙄). Stupidly I said I don’t care about view and previously had a standard view, is there a standard available there so I don’t have to pay the upgraded view price? She came back and had a standard for a $160 refund… what! “it has a king bed so it’s upgraded” 🤦🏻‍♀️ No, I’ll just do water view… Sorry it’s gone. Do you want the standard view and $160 refund? Grabbed that before I lost it too! Absolutely no sympathy from the CM, just annoyance towards me like the whole thing was me being ridiculous.

Bellman made me feel better though. Said they’ve moved a few people from the Tower today and it was really confusing him. When he was in my tower room I said stop and listen and he was like “OH, woah, I couldn’t live with that either!”

Idk if this is actually Tower wide, I kinda doubt it as only a few of us have moved but I suspect the issue is at a minimum affecting multiple rooms after that convo.

ETA- I submitted feedback via the welcome email. No point in keeping my gripe of the front desk’s handling of the situation to myself and the internet. Management can’t fix what they don’t know about.

We had that horrid noise when we stayed at the tower too. We were doing club level so we weren’t wanting to move. Maintenance couldn’t help either. What did help was a patch of sticky back moleskin over the speaker. I’m sure it was a bad idea but it saved our trip, and we peeled it off when we left. This was over a year ago…really wish they could fix the offending units!

Staying for the first time in the November. We would like to have lunch the day we arrive and I am disappointed to find out that 3 Bridges does not open until dinner. Any good options for lunch? We are foodies and like to have a nice lunch lol Thinking we may have to go to DS.

If you want to stay at the resort Rix is a good option for lunch. We generally head to DS and enjoy the Boathouse or Wine Bar George.

So to the end the tale, I was unhappy. (Lol, as if that wasn’t apparent.) I gave the outer room one night but I was miffed at walking to the Tower for food and rideshares and rather couldn’t stop thinking if I wanted an outside facing room involving walking I would have booked Pop. I’m afraid non-Gran Destino Moderates just aren’t my jam. A manager called me that morning after my online How Is Your Stay submission, apologizing for what happened so I did at least get an apology which I appreciated.

Alas, I bailed. The afternoon after my first night I went to the front desk and requested a refund for the remaining nights. I’m so happy I was dealing with Disney because they granted the request. The first CM was a bit confused but I requested a manager and they came quickly. I went over to Dolphin instead and no regrets, it was practically the same price with my AP discount so that was nice…

I really appreciated the CSR Front Desk and Management on the day I left. They got a manager who was able to check me out early, refunded my gift cards and apologized again. She acknowledged they’ve had this complaint from some other guests, said the floor seemed to be having issues (it wasn’t the whole Tower apparently). I wasn’t given kickback on getting a refund, the manager graciously asked if there was anything she could do to change my mind. At that point I was settled, but I did appreciate the gesture. I had a follow up call that night from a different manager apologizing for all of it. I appreciated their increased communication but I know how hard commercial fire systems are to work on, there was no way this would get fixed that quick, so at the end of the day we parted ways and I hold no ill will.

I will try them again. I’ve had many lovely Gran Destino stays so I’m not willing to burn it, and all the managers I finally encountered said they realized there is an issue. Here’s hoping it goes better my next attempt!!

I have my first trip to CSR coming up in the fall. I will be staying in the Tower, King Bed Standard view. Are there typical room requests for the tower? The only one I can think of would be requesting to be close to the elevator. If you happen to be right next to the elevator, does that create a noise issue? Do certain rooms have better views of fireworks in the distance.

I had a water view room, but I think this recommendation would work for either side, and that is to request a higher floor room. When we checked in early in the day, they only had two rooms available, one on the 4th and one on the 10th. I grabbed the tenth floor. Being higher gives you a better view, I was able to see fireworks in the distance.

I agree with the higher floor concept. The standard room view has HS in the distance, I was never in the room when fireworks were going on so I can’t speak to the view. You can definitely see ToT.

Thx for this. It’s nice to see that if a person is not happy , there are options. It does help you travel often and know what the other options and price ranges.

I was just considering a CSR std …. Hmm in July heat maybe not my best option. All that walking I forgot about!

We either hit DS or you can also drive to Wilderness Lodge and ask to eat at Geyser Point which is on Bay Lake and is our favorite lunch spot :)
