Resort Thread Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS Resort

We either hit DS or you can also drive to Wilderness Lodge and ask to eat at Geyser Point which is on Bay Lake and is our favorite lunch spot :)
Love Geyser Point but just ate there twice in May! Stayed at Boulder ridge and it was fantastic!

Heading home after our 3 night CSR stay and 3 night Wish cruise. Had a great stay. Booke standard view with a request to be in cabanas section and was given a water view room. First night we ate in Maya Grill and it was delicious. Next night we ate at Rix and 3rd night was at Trattoria Al Forno at the Boardwalk

We used the Dig Site pool and the Cabanas pool (when I did laundry). Very convenient. My only pet peeve was we didn’t get any housekeeping until the 3rd day at 5 pm. We were out of the room all day and got back to the room to see the hostess just about to start. It started pouring so we had no real place to wait for room to be done except the outside hallway. I know service is every other day but getting it at 5 pm was so late when all we wanted was to shower and get ready for our dinner reservation

We've stayed at CSR roughly 5 times in the last 5 years. We book a standard view room, and put in a request for 'anywhere except Ranchos'. We have been put in Ranchos every single time! Last time, we went to the front desk to ask to be moved. I asked if the standard rooms in Casitas had availability. The CM was snarky, and said that if we wanted Casitas, we should have booked 'preferred'. I calmly said that there are standard rooms there too, and she said 'but they're not guaranteed'.

Is there a trick for getting a standard room somewhere other than in Ranchos??

Over the last 16 years of making requests I have found that wording it "not xxx" or "anywhere but xxx" pretty much guarantees we will get xxx. So now I just say what we want and not even mention what we don't want. Since doing that, even if we don't get exactly what we want we have yet to get xxx.

We had the same issue in March at the yacht club. At deluxe they come daily, but we don’t use it daily. I’m assuming they clean the rooms that people have left first to get the newer people checked in. Then they move on to occupied rooms to clean. They did honor our request midweek to come late morning/early afternoon.

Our third day we didn’t leave up the occupied sign. We got back between 4/5 and they hadn’t been there yet. So we just put it back up for a little break. Asked the housekeeper down the hall for new towels. The next day they were in the room across the hall when we came back in the afternoon. We decided to go to the pool and do laundry so they could do our room. Came back a couple hours later from the pool and they still hadn’t been there. So the 5th day we finally decided to just call and ask for it to be early and it was done when we came back midafternoon.

For a fall stay, the difference between the tower water view and a preferred room is less than $10. Any perks to one or the other? They are both pretty centrally located, right? Can park fireworks be viewed from the tower water view rooms?

I’m all Cabanas Cabanas Cabanas in my life so that’s the only thing I request- A, B or C

Advantage of the tower is everything you need being right in the building and indoor hallways (a godsend in inclement weather) and the tower stop is the last one out before the parks. If you rope drop it cuts down on your commute time and you won't have to worry about not getting on if you're on the first bus like you should be.

I have heard that they have Celsius energy drinks at the resort. Has anyone been there recently and can confirm if they have them and what flavors they have.

I stayed in the tower for the first time over the 4th of July - I'd pick the tower because it really has the deluxe feel. I think almost all the rooms in the tower have a walk in shower. I like the regular rooms but it's just very convenient to be in the tower.

From our water view room we could see the MK fireworks off to the left. I didn't notice any other fireworks but maybe we weren't in the room at the right time. It could be that the way the building angles on the sides that you wouldn't be able to see the MK fireworks but I don't know. Our room was in the center of the tower on the 10th floor.

I don't see a place to out a location request on our reservation. All I see in preferences is near elevator, near bus stop, ground floor, but nowhere do I see where to request that want a room in the Cabanas

You have to call and have them add it to the reservation. This to me is the easiest and they will note it on reservation.
Some people use chat feature, but i have only called.
And then there are others who send faxes, or use touring plans to do it for them.
And lastly, before you check in, if they text you your room number and it’s not where you requested, or if you get there earlier than your room is available, you can always ask nicely at the front desk if they have anything in your requested section,If you didn’t receive that, I have actually had that work for me before . I had requested a section, and was not given it. When I asked at the front desk, however, she said oh, which one of these three rooms would you like that were in that section. That, however, was a stay at a different resort, so hopefully Coronado does better with requests. The one time I requested cabanas I did get it, but that was many years ago.

I'm considering a stay at Coronado, club level. I just read that not all club level rooms are on the 15th floor where the CL lounge is located. Isn't that a bit odd? If I pay for club level, I would expect to be on the same floor as the lounge.

anyone know why the spa at coronado is closed and when it might reopen
