Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

Considering switching to CSR for our June trip... currently booked at BWV, but looking at budget I'm considering moderates. We love POR, but it's not available for our dates (not sure why every category is booked for a week in mid-June?).

Last time I stayed at CSR was in 2002 (3 adults & 2 children in our room). This will be just my daughter & I.

My concern is having a room super far away... for some reason this seems to be our lot when staying on Disney property...:rotfl2:

In looking at the CSR map it seems as if bldg 9B is a good location for distance to pool/ lobby/food court, but this isn't the bldg in the preferred booking category.

So my question is what are the options in room requests (I realize all requests are just that, and not guaranteed).

Are they no longer providing pool towels? The recreation calendar for this month says to bring your own towels from the room but when we were there last May they were provided at the pool.

I'm booked business class for September, has anyone heard anymore updates on what they might do with my reservation? Last I heard people were being moved to AKL, if that's the case we will probably change some of our plans.

Building 9b used to be business class, it is now closed.

Finally getting to stay at this resort for the FIRST TIME!!! (Switched from Pop Century as a last minute decision for V-Day) We are booked in a standard view King Room. We requested near transportation (and upper floor) but I was wondering at Coronado does that mean near the main lobby for near one of the outlying bus stops?

It's really hit or miss, unfortunately. Obviously they were in need. I'm not sure of what you're looking for, but if you can perhaps switch to Port Orleans or Caribbean Beach. Those rooms are more recently refreshed. The downside will of course be either the cost at POR or the bus situation at CBR.

Yeah, I think I'm overthinking it all. I know different people have different expectations as well, and one person's "worn" may not be another's. We've stayed at POR before because our family of 5 fits there, and we did POFQ once before, but there's no discount for that resort so not worth the $500 extra. No interest in CBR...we were booked there last time for our split stay and I read stuff about bad smelling rooms, then family of ours went and said their room smelled (without us mentioning we heard there was a problem), so I got spooked and switched to POR. Our last trip stay was Contemporary with the whole family. I go back and forth looking at the Epcot area resorts, but I think we will stick with CSR since it's somewhere we've never stayed and can't stay with the kids. We can stay Epcot area with the kids. We've done WL and even GF during rehab and it wasn't bad.

Is the bus super busy since there's 4 stops verses one at all the resorts? Is there a better bus stop to use than another to get a chance to sit on the bus?

Is this really better than all star sports or pop century for a solo adult 2 night stay? Prob will not use the amenitites but looking for a quieter resort.

In other words, it would cost me about $160 more to stay here for two nights than at pop century. (Neither preferred room)

Too true, I really hope they're just converting the rooms and not tearing down the whole building.

Me too! I love BC. Only have stayed BC. My March reservation has been relocated. All though the upgrade is nice, I was disappointed, so I booked an add on night to the front at CSR. Can't wait to sip or gulp my coronado crush while I just enjoy where ever we end up for an extra day.

9B is closed as PP mentioned. Our favorite buildings are Cabanas 8A and 8B which are close to the pool and bus stop, and a short walk to El Centro for refilling mugs. I would put in a request for those two, and then keep an eye on this board, as they are refurbing rooms, and are currently doing Ranchos buildings, but you can see what changes between the now and then. If you book preferred you will be in Casitas 1,2, or 3. Look at the map on page 1 of this thread to see what you prefer.

I've stayed at all for 2 nights solo as part of split stays. I'm not a fan of the value resorts so to me is it worth the extra money, yes, you couldn't pay me to stay in a value resort again. As far as the bus stops, I was in the Cabanas section and that was the second to last stop, one morning going to MK I did have to stand but that was the only time. If you really wanted a guarantee to sit, you could walk over to the Casitas (stop #1) or the Ranchos (stop #2) both are also available in non-preferred rooms so you could request them. They are working on the Ranchos so there would be some construction equipment and you might hear some noise during the day. I didn't find the walks from anywhere on the resort as overly long but I like a nice stroll in the mornings to get my breakfast or at night to just unwind after being at the parks. It was pretty peaceful but of all the moderates, I found POR mansions to be the most peaceful. I'll be staying at CSR in March for my second stay there so obviously, I didn't hate it.

It's really not but I haven't stayed as many times as some. We arrive at the parks for rope drop, got onto the bus at the last stop (El Centro) and never had a problem at all. Coming back I did have to stand, and that was really uncomfortable after all day on my feet. But that could happen with any resort.

Any opinions on the quietest or most secluded building to stay in? Also, I know I read somewhere about hammocks but can't find where those are located?

Probably the far end of 6A or the part of 6B that faces trees.
With the rehab, possibly Casitas 5.
That's what I was thinking. I'm trying to decide between requesting casitas 5 or cabanas 8b ( although I know a request is just a request) :)
We love when our room is just a bit away from it all:)
