At least I now know that they wont have conventions from 8/25-8/29

I'll caution that you don't know that for sure. Buzz posts based on what his Google-fu shakes out. There is no official list published by Disney, and there are frequently additional conventions that are not on Buzz's list because they're promoted more privately to organizations.

plus, even if there's no convention planned yet that doesn't preclude the possibility of one being scheduled before August. If conventions are a serious negative for your party, it is still a "risk." that said, although I remember seeing a lot of business casual dress at CSR, and so I know there must have been a convention or something happening, it didn't negatively impact our trip. no hotel amenities were overcrowded--in fact, the pool and buses were the least busy I've seen at a moderate resort.

While it doesn't preclude one, if one did drop on it would likely be smaller. Few organizations sign the main contract for a convention 4 months out, given the time needed for travel planning and promotion. Anything at any scope needs to be pushed at targets/members/whoever 6+ months out, especially if it;s the sort of thing you get employer reimbursement on.

You make a good point :thumbsup2

Groups are going to be not really a problem for us. Heck, I work in a big hotel here in Vegas that caters to big groups, so if there is when when we go it shouldn't be a problem.

With that being said, can anybody compare the walks to the park busses at CSR to Mermaid rooms at the Art of Animation? The resort looks big, and the walk from the Mermaid rooms was pretty bad when heading back to the room after long days at the parks.

We are here now with a huge student nursing convention. (Like I'm pretty sure it's taking up almost the entire resort except our business class building). The positive has been deserted park busses. We took a rope drop bus to Animal Kingdom this morning with 4 people on it. We then came back to the resort at 1pm on a bus with just my mom and I! Last night came back from Epcot at 8pm with 3 people.

The bad has been that I have never seen so many people on Disney Springs buses in my life! Also the food court about 1pm today was crazy( we were just refilling our mugs). Since we are eating breakfast in business class and the rest of our meals elsewhere this hasn't bothered us at all. So in all its been great!

You can refill mugs at the feature pool. From BC, it's not a bad walk, and it may be less crazy at mealtimes.

We left BC room Thirsday afternoon and the food court at lunch was nuts! Never saw so many convention people (healthcare something or other). Didn't bother us since we got a table but oh my! So many many people!

We will be at CSR June 4-11. I see there are conventions going on at this time. What should we expect crowd wise at our resort? Will the CS be crowded at breakfast around 730/8am? Will the pool be crowded? Also, I wanted to request Casitas Building 4, do you think this will be a problem? Any other helpful info. appreciated, thanks :D

Does Ventanas require advanced reservations? Thanks!

I've always been able to get a table (breakfast, lunch & dinner) without an ADR. I would imagine there are times when it's booked, but the norm is it's a largely undiscovered gem.

I have no advice, but we will be there also!

We really want to give it a try on our next trip. Where exactly is it located?

Heading toward the convention center just past Rix Lounge, it's on your left. Unless you're going to the convention meeting rooms, I guess it would be easy to miss! ;)

Awesome, thanks! We've missed it every trip! lol

Do any rooms on this property have balcony? My friend is staying in May for a few days and said when she called to book she claims to have been told it is a king bed with a balcony room. I did not think any of the mods have balcony.
