Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

Mostly asking because this was on page THREE, but I am curious.

Does *anyone* like Ranchos? We are booked standard, and I like the theming of Ranchos that I saw in pictures. We would like to be sort of near the Dig Site, as in not all the way across the resort from it, but we don't have to be right next to it. We are driving down and will use our car for all parks except for MK, so it doesn't really matter which bus stop we are closest to. I know it is furthest from El Centro, but we won't be going there often, and we don't mind walking at all. We have stayed at CBR and find the walking distances there very, very exaggerated (yes, we have stayed in Trinidad South even, before it was Pirate rooms). We are a family of 4, all healthy (thankfully), with two active, athletic boys who will be 15 and 13.

Any reason not to stay there?

We have never stayed in Ranchos, but if you are close to the Dig Site I don't see a problem at all. They serve breakfast and you can get your mugs refilled at the pool bar at the Dig Site, so no need for the main building, especially if you have a car. There is also a bus stop for that section. I think its more of an issue for people who like to be close to the main building.

I've stayed in Ranchos (not sure where, but was for Princess Half marathon weekend in 2013). I liked it there. It was very quiet.

When we stayed in Ranchos, the resort didn't have the eatery at the pool yet. I didn't like how far we were from the El Centro/Food Court, but otherwise the area was lovely and quiet.

We were in Ranchos 6B last year.
it was a good spot except for the long trek to El Centro.
When you're sixty five that 1/2 mile to pick up a package or buy something at Panchito's seems longer than it used to be.
Especially after spending all day keeping up with kids and grandkids in the parks. :o

Over the years, we've been in the Ranchos twice. Cabanas a bunch of times and Casitas three times. I'd prefer to be closer to the Dig Site or a quiet pool, over being close to El Centro.

Just booked coronado - 5/29 - 5 nights. Haven't stayed there in about 12 years. love this thread. I'm considering, if I can get the Swan or Dolphin for a deal switching...just for convenience but I am excited about Coronado if that's where I keep the ressie ! Beautiful resort.

We have stayed in 7b as well and loved it. Quit pool is right there and it is a short walk to main pool and the quick serve they have there. The bus stop is also very close to there as well.

Have never stayed at this resort. Does anyone know when the last time the rooms were refurbished? I had avoided it because last time I did research it seemed like some folks felt CSR was in need of a refurb. Has that been done? Our last two stays were at CBR since their refurb was finished and we loved it,but it is not available during our dates. Neither is POR or POFQ both of which we also love.

Refurb is not yet scheduled. There are rumors of late this year.

Anyone know what the Sunset Celebration at El Centro entails?

Considering I've never even heard of it, in spite of staying at CSR 5 times from 2010-2014...no. Where did you hear about it?
