Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

We also checked out of CSR 2 days ago and I already miss the resort. We especially loved the pool and the waterslide was a huge hit with my oldest. We stayed in building 7B and if we go back to CSR (I like to try a new resort at each trip so don't know when I'll be back) I will request either 7B or 8A. We ate at Pepper Market (happy with all our choices), Siesta Cantina was great for breakfast and lunch and we all loved Maya Grill for dinner (the short ribs were delicious). Never encountered a CM with a bad attitude and everyone was very friendly. On our pool day Thursday we say a group of management-looking people doing the rounds. Looked like they were looking at what improvements needed to be done at the Dig site. When we first checked in DH said the room could use some enhancement as it looked old (compared to AoA last year) but by the end of our stay he said he would prefer going back to CSR vs AoA. Finally I have to agree that the bus service is the best we had at WDW so far. Always had a seat and were only waiting 5-10 minutes for most. The longest we waited was for Animal Kingdom around 10am on Tuesday July 10. Took about 20-30 minutes to come. While waiting we saw the buses for EPCOT, Downtown Disney, MK 2x and Hollywood Studios 2x.

P.S. Based on a previous suggestion, DH asked the concierge for the gym and indeed it moved to the convention centre (room T on the plan).

Can anyone explain to me how the dining works if you are on the dining plan. the main website says you are sat down then get a service charge.?
do you have to pay this separately??

From what I can gather the pepper market has had changes in the kind of service it offers. It used to be a part waiter service where gratuity was added, but now operates like a regular counter service where you choose, pay and sit down without any need for a tip! I assume you are on the quick service plan (included in the uk package) You will also be able to use the Siesta pool bar with your quick service credits. The other restaurants are table service (not included in the quick service plan) and would require a tip for service.

Pepper Market is a regular food court. You choose what you want at stations, order the food, pay with your Magic band if on dining plan and get a table to eat. No service charge. You can also get food on the dining plan from Siesta Cantina at the Dig Site (QS) and Cafe Rix (QS). If you want a sit-down meal, you can go to Las Ventanas or Maya Grill (both TS credit).

Isabellea, thanks for posting the temp location of the workout gym. Ppl have been asking. Sorry your trip is done -- we still have 2 months to go...

Great tip about breakfast at the pool - thanks! Sounds much easier than heading to El Centro. Do you happen to recall what the offerings were at the drink fountain at the pool? I'm on DP, will have a refillable mug, and trying to sort out my options. I've requested Cabanas, so would probably be quicker to head to Siesta's than to Pepper Market.

Oh gosh, unfortunately I am a coffee addict so I didn't get a look at the other options. But obviously they did have coffee and I'm pretty sure tea too and some sort of pretty normal looking pop machine. I definitely saw people there filling up those Disney cups. Sorry!

Drinks offered were usual soda like coke, sprite, diet lemonade. They also had 4 types of ice tea: sweetened, southern-style sweetened, green and unsweetened I think. I only drank the southern-style sweet tea and my kids had the lemonade. With the qs credit your additional choices at the pool bar are Powerade, orange juice, fruit punch, apple juice and milk.

Thanks for the info! Coffee is always good. . .I'm a fellow addict. And four types of tea? I'm not a Southerner by birth, but have been here for almost 35 years - yum to cold tea!

I'm Canadian so I'm use to sweetened tea (not as sweet as sweet tea tho) and my drink of choice was Southern-style with ice. Yum.

Did I read somewhere that there are lifejackets available at the main pool? I'd feel better with my kids wearing them... (even though I will be right next to them in the water!)

There was lifejackets at the main pool and I think I saw some at the quiet Ranchos pool. My daughter was wearing one when going on the slide.

I just changed our resort to Coronado Springs for the post-cruise portion of our trip and I didn't know which areas to request. I requested the Cabanas area how far is the main pool and would it impress a 13 yr old boy? Also, can I have a cake delivered to the room for my son's birthday?

The Cabanas are in between the main pool and El Centro, good location. I think that he will love CSR, the pool, water slide and hot tub and are awesome. It is my kids favorite resort. You can have a cake delivered to your room, check out: disneyworld.disneyfloralandgifts.com or

I can tell you that my 15yo son loved the pool! Declared it one of the best he's been to. :-)

We have 15 days. I've really considered going to bed and not getting up until it's time to leave.

We leave in 9 days but won't be at Coronado for another 9 days after that... I'm super excited for this part of our stay!

Glad to hear it is a regular food court. Everything I'd read said that someone would seat you and get your drinks. First time staying at CSR in November and I can't wait!!!

This is our first time at CSR and first time staying at any moderate resort. We have twin 2 year olds and will have a rental car. What area should I request? Thanks.
