Preparing for rain

If it does rain Staturday, do the Star Wars projection shows go on?

That would be my back up if the fireworks are not happening
I can say that rain does not cancel Shadows of Memory--I saw it in the rain on Friday. Fireworks were canceled so I don't know about Fire of the Rising Moons as we didn't stay to find out.

Glad you got to see Shadows of Memory. Fire of the Rising Moons are the same fireworks as the regular show. If the regular show is cancelled, so is Fire of the Rising Moons.

We arrived tonight, boy it’s a wet one!

Can anyone remind me where ponchos are sold in the park? We have 3 and there are 4 of us so one will have to rough it out until we get a 4th
This is for tomorrow 🤩

It is really pouring (and cold) tonight. According to Weather Wunderground, it is supposed to clear up around 8 or 9 am.

They sell ponchos just about everywhere. They had umbrellas for sale behind the register at Elias & Co last week.

Not sure if you’re on site but Pixar Pier hotel was selling them in its main gift shop last weekend and I would bet the other hotels do as well.

The kids poncho is a bit cheaper than the adult one, in case that helps you.

@maleficent55 check the weather reports again. I don't think there is supposed to be rain today. Maybe some showers around 8 am. One site says showers around 6 pm. The other sites don't.
I’m quite happy that it looks like it really clears up around 9am
We aren’t rope dropping, much to my dismay, but maybe better because of the weather

I see rain around noon, a passing shower but we will be at the Blue Bayou!!!

I can’t wait for today. I’m so exited I’ll take rain! But good to know where the 4th poncho can be found, we will need it for Tiana’s anyway

Yes, you’ll find ponchos at almost every store!!!

Have so much fun!!!

Rains has its advantages - it washes away the crowds. Looking at the app, even Spacr Mountain was a walk on in closing hours yesterday. Same with Matterhorn - didn’t think they’d operate that one in the rain.

Yeah but it's not normally like WDW where you might get a thunderstorm and it goes away at least that is more common (yes you have total wash out days but it's more common to get afternoon rain for a shorter time). On our trip in March 2019 I mean it rained basically the entire day for 3 days straight with only slight breaks in it. Luckily we got to see World of Color and it's why I was glad we got a second shot at a trip in September 2019. For this time period that people are talking about now that's what a lot of the days have been in that area just a more constant and large amounts of rain. At least to me any offset in lower crowds is hugely mitigated by the length of time it rains and how many days it rains in one's trip.

Of course it looks dry, I'm leaving today after about half of my DLR vacation was rainy ...
I hope you had fun at least, I saw on Thursday the lines were very low for everything besides a few of the attractions but many rides were low...like Star Wars ROTR was 30 mins which is basically a walk on for that and small world holiday was also 5 mins

It was fun on the non-rainy days. One of the disadvantages of being an ECV user is that you have to be careful of getting the controls wet, as well as deeper puddles splashing up. Which means when it rains hard it's time to head back to the hotel. The ECV vendor even advised against going out at all on the heaviest rain day (I think it was Sunday 11/16). I prepared for the rain (poncho for me and large clear trash bags for the ECV) but it was still a drag.

Thanks for the link.

Using your link, I saw a review that said someone got the exact same shoe covers from Temu for only $3. I just checked and they do have them there for about $6 for two pair, but they're only in white. Of course it takes longer to get things from Temu. I've never ordered from them but my mom used to use them for all kinds of things. I think I'm going to order some; at that price I can always order from Amazon later if the ones from Temu don't arrive in time or aren't any good. I'm near Seattle so I should have several chances to give them a test run in the rain!

I tried these this week. They worked well until I rode IASW and had a couple of inches of water in the boat. They are convenient for a forecast for rain later in they day…so compact in a bag vs wearing boots all day. Just watch out for the big puddles. (I wore my boots the first rain day and was able to not worry about depth of puddles, but appreciated having my usual tennis shoes on all of Thursday).

And to the folks saying to bring a rain suit - thank you! I got one for the trip and the pants really saved me!

So they didn't help with the water in the boat? I thought they came up over the ankles. Was there that much water in the boat?

The water was about 2 inches deep or so…not above my ankles. Unsure if it was my pair or what, but some water came in (not soaked, but wet).
