Hello Friends!
I just added a couple of nights on to the beginning of our free dining reservation (at CBR Nov 9-14). We will be at CSR Nov 7-9th. I booked the business club level room just to add a little plus to our stay. Now I am kind of doubting that decision. Is the upgraded interior and snacks "worth it"? I know that is so subjective but I'd like your opinions anyway. We have never stayed here before (or at CBR for that matter). Is the location nice?
Tell me I will love it...

I would normally say Casitas, but the pool there is closed, as well as the fitness center and salon/spa, until October 13th. A temporary fitness center is set up in Room T of the convention center (main bldg).

So my choice would be Cabanas 9A first, then 8B or 8A. Cabanas 9B is a business class club level @ +$50/night.

Here's a map: http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/cspringsmap.htm

Thank you so much!!! That helps tremendously. Is it true that the busses at this resort are way faster than the others? If that is the case, we may wind up using the bus way more than originally planned. When we stayed at POR last year, the bus wait was maddening. We spent at least an hour every day waiting for buses and trying to get to the parks... when we could have driven ourselves and probably gotten to the park in 10 minutes.

I am not the poster you quoted. But, we had great luck with CSR transportation when we were there. We only had to wait more than 10 min. one time and that during what appeared to be some kind of shift change at MK. We did note that most other resorts' guests were also waiting for quite a while, so it wasn't just CSR. I would not rent a car when staying at CSR.
That said, if I had a car anyway, I would probably use it. I have found driving around WDW to be pretty easy. DHS and AK would be a very easy drive and Epcot is not too far either. I would also use the car when traveling to non-MK resorts. I would stick with WDW transportation when traveling to MK and the MK resorts. (I like the chance to ride the monorail or the boats)
The way CSR is set up, you would likely be able to park pretty close to your room and it would probably be a closer walk to your car than the bus stop or about the same. But, if you just don't feel like driving on vacation, I do think the transportation is reliable.

50 days until my 1 year anniversary trip. This will be my first time staying at this resort. I am staying in a king room. Does anyone know if they are only in certain buildings? I requested cabanas.

Are there any weird things I should know about CSR?
Like for CBR...there are no elevators, so I requested a ground floor room, since I was traveling with a stroller bound infant
Or for POFQ...request to be close to the elevators (or on the ground floor) because there's only one bay in each building, which can be really inconvenient, when you're traveling with a stroller...

Catching a theme here?

We stayed business class last year and for us it was worth it. We enjoyed our breakfast every morning in the quiet lounge. Also, we rope drop the parks each day so for us this set up was perfect...early enjoyable breakfast, then parks all day into early evening, then snacks and beer/wine in the lounge each night. If you choose to have a drink poolside that's fine too. They'll just pour it in a plastic cup. We're booked there again this fall. As you said it's subjective but from our experience we absolutely loved it, mainly for the lounge and the proximity to the main pool, el centro, and a bus stop.

Do you happen to remember the hours of the lounge? I have heard it is not open all day.

My family and I had a great time staying at this resort last year. Beautiful grounds and the main pool area was so nice and relaxing. I loved the spaciousness of the resort but as the stay went on and getting from our room to the main bldg for food and such started to wear on me and my family. At the end of the trip we decided that this was a one and done resort for us, we were glad that we tried it but I don't think will be booking that resort again.

This trip POFQ is where we will be staying.

Hi,

I stay here back in February and have previous stayed at POR. I did not find the buses to be noticeably faster on the way to the resort. There was often a largish group of people waiting at the main bus stop to get onto the buses, but unlike POR there was no organization which degenerated into an everyone jams to the bus as fast as possible situation. However, with that said, I did find the lines to get back to CSR were much better than most of the other resorts. Plus the CSR buses do not stop at any other resorts.

Ok, I'm only through 114 pages of this thread....but two things have surprised me....just how divisive the preference is for the different sections of the resort, and the complaints about bus service! We haven't stayed moderate in a long time, usually deluxe, and the bus service at CSR sounds absolutely fantastic compared to what we have experienced at the deluxe resorts! Especially the Epcot resorts! So looking forward to letting the Disney drivers handle it for us for the week! And....as far as what section to stay in...hmmm....we have a standard room booked through a magical package, and really have only made one request...NOT ground floor. We'll see where we end up. We like to walk, and they all look lovely. Can't wait! October can't come soon enough!!

I've always had good luck with the buses at CSR. The stops seem to be closest to the park entrances and the lines always seem to be shorter than the other mods and usually can sit on the bus.

I've had all good experiences with the bus system at CSR. Yes I've waited 15 minutes and had to stand once or twice but the buses always had the ac kicking. The furthest ride is to MK. But it really goes fast. I also go Easter time.

My 3 stays have been in Cabanas. The resort is gorgeous. The ranchos section is very pretty. It wasn't untl my last stay that I actually walked around the entire resort.

You will be happy wherever you end up.

Just finished a 12 day stay at csr. Great resort, excellent bus service, friendly and helpful staff(had multiple problems with mb) and the resort is not as big as everyone says. We stayed in the farthest building and it was a 7.5 minute walk to the front lobby and that was a normal pace for us.

I recently requested Ranchos, but also requested early check-in since our flight lands in MCO at 9:30 AM. Do you think there will be an issue with getting Ranchos? It seems that this section is typically less requested than Cabanas and Casitas..
No, we landed at 9:30, made it to resort by 10:15ish and had a ranchos room.

How hard is it to get a double bed room in the Business Class Level section? I am going to need 3 rooms - One will have to be a double bed room since there are 4 people to that room. It will be during March of 2016.

When you book the rooms, you will either book a Standard Business Class (with 2 Queen Beds), or a King Bed Business Class (with 1 King Bed). If you are putting 4 people in the room, it will only offer you the rooms with 2 Queen Beds for that room.

We lucked out when we stayed in July, I had booked a standard business class for the 4 of us, but we ended up with 2 connecting king rooms. Couldn't believe it, a bit of pixie dust at the start of our holiday :)

Anybody know if there's a convention 1/7/16-1/10/16? I'm trying to book a room for Marathon weekend, and the resort is sold out already, which is highy unusual. I tried even to go for 10 days and no luck.. Thanks

They have a bunch of King rooms all over! I really like using the touring plans room finder to figure out what area/view you want to stay in.
