Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

This is our first time at CSR and first time staying at any moderate resort. We have twin 2 year olds and will have a rental car. What area should I request? Thanks.
It is really just a preference, we like the casitas and others enjoy the cabanas and ranchos. Do you want to be close to the main pool or the food? We always have a car as well and we do not mind the walk to either the dig site or El Centro. The cabanas are in between the dig site and El Centro. The ranchos are kind of set back behind the dig site and the casitas are next to El Centro but once you get to Casitas 4 & 5 it is a further walk but does not bother us. Some people like to be close to both the food and pool, if so the cabanas would be the best choice for that.

Right now I have a Preferred Room booked with a military discount for September. However, I just noticed that there's availability in a Standard Room for my dates with the Late Summer Offer. This will save us around $50 (even though the percent off is about 10% lower).
Overall, I would rather be close to the main pool than El Centro, especially since the Quiet Pool in Casitas is undergoing refurbishment right now. We were in Building 13 at CBR a few years back, and didn't mind the walk to the main building. We actually quite enjoyed the scenery.

Would you switch to a standard room to save the money, or should I stick with preferred?
Ideally, we'll be able to book Water View, but that's where the gap between the military discount and late summer offer comes in, so unless the military discount availability changed....

I recently requested Ranchos, but also requested early check-in since our flight lands in MCO at 9:30 AM. Do you think there will be an issue with getting Ranchos? It seems that this section is typically less requested than Cabanas and Casitas..

I don't think you'll have any problem getting ranchos. Most people don't want it.

If I were you I would pick standard and ask for Cabanas, building 8B (or 8A). You will be close to the pool and the walk to el centro isn't long and will be scenic. We love the cabana area.
You would be saving $50 per night, correct?

I suggest cabanas, building 8a. You will be near the pool, kiddie pool and playground.

It's saving us $50 total. Not a huge amount of money, but we have a strict budget this time. Since I couldn't actually see a huge benefit of staying in the preferred area, especially since there are bus stops all over the resorts, and someone mentioned on here that they likes grabbing breakfast at the pool....

My TA probably hates me this week. I started in Pop, then switched to CSR Preferred, then to CSR Standard. Hopefully, that will be it, until we leave for the trip...

DH is super excited about staying in CSR, instead of Pop, so that's good!

I was just there with a 2 year old (turned 3 during our stay) and 5yo and loved being close to The Dig site. Was perfect for us. We stayed in Rancho 7B and with 8a they are the closest buildings to the main pool, kid pool, playground and the Siesta Cantina where you can have your mug filled, order food (including breakfast). This is my Trip Advisor review for our stay (I hope I am allowed to post it here): http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUser..._Coronado_Springs_Resort-Orlando_Florida.html

Anyone know what order the rooms/buildings are cleaned in? Did a bit of searching and haven't found this anywhere.

I was thinking of requesting that our room cleaned early, so we can come to a cleaned room during afternoon break (around 1pm). It seems likely they clean in a set order, and it would be unlikely for them to move around out of order. So was thinking it might be worthwhile to request a building that is cleaned earlier.

Thanks!

Vary everyday. Had our room cleaned in the morning on some days, early afternoon and late afternoon on other days. I think they do the check-out first then the rest in their section.

Each building has its own housekeeping crew so it won't matter which building you're in. I would just leave them a note the first day accompanied by a tip and I'm sure they'll clean your room first the rest of your stay. ;)

I would for sure stick to the standard room. We have stayed 3 times at CSR. First two, standard, last one we splurged on preferred.

We were in Cabanas both times with the standard, 7B, and loved the location. Never had issues with bus stops, close to El Centro (we enjoyed the walk). The hammocks on the beach area great, they are only 2 story buildings. Preferred will for sure put you in Casitas. You will be very close to the convention center, when we stayed there we had to deal with many a drunk business man on their trip after conferences were done for the da, the other side of the lake was much nicer!

We haven't stayed at CSR yet, but we've only ever come back to a uncleaned room at Disney, when we've left the 'do not disturb' sign on the door. We take a break every day.

Thanks! That's what I figured.

How does the refillable mug station work at Siestas? Is it self service or is it done for you at the window? I can't find any pictures that suggest it's self service.

Love the hammocks as well - last time we were there (Nov '13) we had a bit of a sand flea issue though. Anyone had a similar issue? Maybe we just got unlucky that one time??

Not self service. You open your mug and ask for a refill at the window. They have soda/pop and ice tea. Probably coffee also but I never asked for it.

It is almost time for us to do "early check in" and make our room requests etc. for CSR... that being said- what is the best area for a family with a 4 year old. We will have our own car, so being close to a bus stop isn't necessarily priority. TA says Casitas is the best... was wondering what the general consensus is... THANKS!!!

I would normally say Casitas, but the pool there is closed, as well as the fitness center and salon/spa, until October 13th. A temporary fitness center is set up in Room T of the convention center (main bldg).

So my choice would be Cabanas 9A first, then 8B or 8A. Cabanas 9B is a business class club level @ +$50/night.
