We will be staying at CSR for the first time in less than 2 weeks. We have stayed at AKL for our last 4 trips, all of our trips ever. DH is starting to freak out about a different resort. Help me reassure him that CSR will be great and a new experience is a positive thing!!!
DH is feeling a bit better about a new resort but is still hesitant. We are staying BC so I hope that helps him transition... 12 days until we're there!!!

We'll be there in 12 days as well! :)

We really enjoyed CS on our last trip. It's kind of spread out but that adds to the fun. We could really take our time and enjoy ourselves. It's a very nice place and the hammocks were great!

If I wanted soda, then yes I'd use my mug, and then no, I wouldn't need a vending machine with....SODA:confused3 I went over to POR and got honest tea, my DD got powerade, smart water, lots of things even values have that we couldn't with our meals. Yes cafe rix has powerade, but can't get it unless we want something out of their cold refrigerator for lunch. I guess this board is only for all sunshine, rainbows and positives. I gave my positives and negatives, thinking that it would help someone who has never stayed here. The fact is the drink selection IS LESS than all other resorts, and the carving station and pasta are gone. Sugar coat as much as you want, I'm just saying what I saw. Since I plan on not staying here again I'm done with this board, have fun

I agree, the refill fountain drink choices were lacking. There seemed to be more varieties at other resorts.

Getting ready for our first stay at CSR and I'm SO excited. One thing that doesn't sound ideal is the lack of connecting rooms. At CBR I had no problems getting a double queen/king bed room with a connecting door. Has anyone seen that combination available at Coronado?

Otherwise, I am leaning towards requesting a couple of adjacent rooms in Cabanas 8A.

Thanks for any advice!

Is there a way to contact Disney with concerns regarding the removal of food selections and lack of drink selections for refillable mugs compared to other resorts? It probably wouldn't help, but I wonder if enough people were to complain if they'd would listen.

We will have our mugs due to DDP, but we also are entitled to a free beverage with our meals. I remember POR having a cooler with Fuze and Monster Energy, among many other choices in the CS area. Are these available at Pepper Market, or do we have to use Cafe Rix? Really wish they didn't separate the food choices between the two. Is gelato only available at one of those also?I hesitated to try CSR due to enjoying our visits at POR, but the free dining is a big savings to our family of 4 on our Christmas trip. After reading so much on DIS over the past few months I became excited to try CSR, but I know some in my family are going to be disappointed if the food/drink choices are lacking.

On the upside, as long as we are all healthy on vacation, we can venture to the monorail resorts or DTD for QS meals outside the parks. Hope the busses are efficient! Have a feeling they will be packed due to the holidays and the country dance competitors coming in at their group rates in advance of their competition.

Anyone have pictures of the new Bc lounge evening offerings?I heard they added somethings. If not for those going in the next 2 weeks please take pictures for us.We have 44 days also.See you guys in the lounge!

We were really looking forward to CSR in Dec 2014. But we're a little weary now after reading some really nasty comments about CSR on facebook page "You might be a Disney addict if...". A lot of people said it was the absolute worse resort and would never go back. Many posted different reasons like rooms not being cleaned, or not Disney enough, or too many convention guests.

We hope it won't be like that for us on our trip - it's our first time at CSR.

Don't listen to that, everyone is untitled to their opinion

In one of my groups there is someone there right now and she is posting daily reports of how much she loves it there. With all of the resorts you are going to have lovers and haters. Keep looking forward to your trip, you're going to Disney. Make the decision for yourself but if you're that worried see about moving to a different resort but if you're free dining that may be impossible. My advice is go CSR and YOU make it the best trip ever.

When and where do you contact the resort to request where your room is? I would like to stay in the Cabanas area. Not going till February, and already booked a room.

Also, what is BC?

We are at CSR now. We checked in Sunday. Our room is in Cabanas 8B second floor. We requested Cabanas and top
Floor during online checkin, so we got our request. We've had no issues with the resort. We like it. We had two really rude bus drivers. That really turned us off so we've been driving to the parks since we have our car. It has also rained everyday and not just sprinkles, serious downpours. We've been wet everyday at the parks. But oh well, maybe we will have dryer weather the next couple of days. We check our Saturday.

But main reason for posting is to say we've had no issues with CSR. This is our first onsite stay, so I have nothing to compare it to.

I do hope the rain stops for you guys! My co worker is there and said it rained all day on them at MK yesterday. They are at Epcot today for Food and Wine. I am praying they get some sunshine!!:goodvibes

13 days until we check in for our first trip to CSR and first trip without our kids. We usually stay at WL but with the pool construction we decided to try someplace new. We look forward to exploring the resort.

How close is your room to the main building and/or rix bar. Does anyone know if there have tv's is the rix bar. I arrive Sunday afternoon and was hoping to watch some football

There are spots for certain request during online checkin or you can call the WDW. Reservation line and have your requests noted on your reservation.

BC is the Business Class rooms at CSR.

Cabanas 8B would be a 5 min walk to the main building.

They have TV's at Rix Lounge and according to the Rix website they now have the NFL package! Let us know how it is.

I've noticed over the years that it becomes "trendy" to pick on certain resorts. Typically it happens right before a refurbishment. For ages it was POR, but then they got princess rooms. Then CBR became the target. All I heard for ages was about how awful CBR was. But, now it is in the middle of a room refurb so apparently it's trendy to suggest it to everyone and people have moved onto CSR as their target. Ironically, the overwhelming majority of complaints for POR and CBR were not about the rooms - they were about the transportation and size of the resorts. I guess having updated rooms somehow negates that. :confused3

I've seen the exact same thing happen with the All-Stars. I've stayed at each multiple times and they are basically the same except for theming. But, each year a new one seems to be ripe for ripping apart and another one magically rises to the top.

Mark my words, as soon as CSR goes through their refurb, they will become the new trend and the complainers will move on to a new resort.

And, as far as food courts go, they seem to be downsizing/ changing up offerings at a number of them. They completely decimated Pop's last year taking away a ton of fan favorites and the nightly specials etc... They've made changes at the Poly the people are unhappy with and so on. I would not book a resort based on the food court as the menus could suddenly change. :goodvibes

I'm curious, what were the bus drivers problems? Because if they are really bad, you can take a picture of their number on the back of the bus, and report them.

Good point on the menu changes. As mentioned, Poly's has changed. POP's has recently changed, again. I feel POP has competition with AoA, maybe that's why so many changes there.
