Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

I'm sure if they had a luggage cart available they would have given it to you but any hotel only has a limited number and if they are all in use because it's a busy day then you will have to wait. This is why it's best to drive up to the front and unload your luggage because either way the bell hops will help you at the front. Then you can drive your car to the parking lot after you are done.

There aren't any available for personal use. None. We were told when we pulled in to leave the luggage in the car. We were not told by the front desk to bring our luggage up. It also wasn't a busy day, there were 2 people in front of us at registration (Both lines).

Y'all, this was my experience. I'm just telling you exactly what my experience was. Based on that, I will never stay there again. It wasn't worth the money we paid, at all. Obviously, other people have different experiences, and I'm glad they do. If you love it, whoo hooo! I booked this resort based on these threads. I want to see the good and the bad. I thought others might too.

The reason people are objecting to your review is that all your complaints are either unrealistic expectations on your part and not knowing how to check into a hotel.

Honestlly, how many more than 4 plugins do you need on vacation? :rolleyes2

As stated in an earlier post I've spent 36 nights at CSR so far, not a small sample. Room quality and service have been excellent.

Is it not standard procedure at any hotel to pull up to the front to check-in and unload your bags? I really don't believe someone told you to keep your bags in your car. There is usually a group of bellman standing there like a pack of wolves looking for a piece of meat! :rotfl2:

I suppose it could be different if you drive as we always fly and take the ME to the resort. But we have always had excellent service checking in. Our bags are usually with bell services before we even get to the counter. The Bell services desk is right there when you enter, you have to walk past it to get to the lobby. We have always had someone load us, our luggage, and our Garden grocer order onto a cart and take us to the room. May have been a short wait involved, but that's expected when they're servicing 2000 rooms spread out over several acres.

As far as luggage carts? I wouldn't expect them to give those out at a resort like this. Guests would be leaving those things all over the place, it would be ridiculous. They would need a team of people just to find and retreive those things every couple of hours.

I just really don't feel your anger reflects on the resort at all.

Good for you! Move in there, yay! We were handed a paper on driving in that said leave your luggage in your car. Our check in was handled by a lady who was nice enough, but didn't speak English clearly. So we were wrong to think that going to the area they directed us to was wrong? And watching another couple do the same thing and get help? Oh, and when an employee sees you struggling and knocks into you, that's okay?

Like I said, YAY for those of you who had great experiences. WHOO HOO FOR YOU. I did not have a good experience. I'm done here, go ahead and bash me for expecting a freaking luggage cart.

Sorry you did not have a good experience, I have been lucky enough to have great experiences. I am not saying that to belittle your experience. Just hope that you have a better experience during your next visit where ever you stay. :thumbsup2

Sorry you didn't enjoy CSR. I have never been to any hotel where we checked in, parked, and expected help to get our bags from the parking lot. We have always pulled up to the main entrance, and unloaded while one of us checked in. I haven't had enough baggage at CSR to use bell services, so I can't comment on their speed. I think the way they are set up, so spread out, is not conducive to carts sitting around for guests to use themselves. They would be left scattered all over.

Ditto. We have always had to pull up to the main entrance. And they would not let us use a luggage cart on our own.

Salamander3, I'm sorry you didn't enjoy CSR. It sounds like with your husband hurting his back, and then encountering less than stellar CMs, it would have taken a miracle for you to enjoy this resort. It is a shame, but I get how encountering even one less than helpful or caring CM can make you view a resort in a negative light. Btdt. Maybe try it again in a few years, if you feel daring. For now, enjoy one of the other many resorts.

Our main complaint like I said before was the lack of selection in the food court and having no option of buying bottled drinks like in other resorts. Yes, they have them in cafe rix, but there is no food we wanted there and they wont let you get a drink from there and food from pepper market.

I saw soda machines around the resort. They were near the elevators and in the laundry facilities. Didn't you have the refill mugs for 11 days?

I think you are right. My husband had a back issue and a raging hemroid (sorry TMI) and we managed just fine getting our luggage to our room and had a lovely vacation. We were offered services upon check in, but declined the cart. It's all how you make of it. I can't wait to return.

How disrespectful. We all know that you are the self appointed head cheerleader for CSR. But that is no reason to dismiss that posters comments and blame everything on her. She was clearly descriptive in her comments and IMO left little for interpretation. I see no reason to discount any of her experiences just because you have not had the misfortune to experience the same.

OP I hope you can ignore those uncalled for comments. I have no doubt that you had every reason to feel the way you do. I hope your stay at your next resort will be a much happier one.

Looks like we need an undercover food detective to tell us all what's left at PM. Who volunteers to take menu pics? Lol. Only sort of kidding.

Wondering if these changes are permanent or just due to low occupancy.

I'll be going during a peak time so here's to hoping the pasta and burritos are back.

Otherwise my PM dinner might become POR (or another resort who's CS offerings are good and is worth the trek - I'd be ok going to POR since we plan to stay there next time, but FW might be fun to check out also.)

As a lot of sites are outdated, I'll update info in 45 days when I'm there.

Interesting convo about bell services. I'd never thought about the logistics of this. I just assumed we'd bring our stuff up from the car afterward. I don't think we'd need a cart. Unloading at check in, for us, seems like a hike with luggage to Ranchos, driving it there seems more practical. But I gather, if I'd like a cart I can call bell services to meet me at the car when they can?
On that note, if my room isn't ready, can I leave my bags with bell services and they'll deliver to room whenever it's ready? If so, what's the charge for this.? In this scenario I'd drive to Ranchos and catch the bus over there.

Seriously. So much info on this thread. <3

Re: recent poster who had a terrible time.. If I were you I'd contact Disney regarding multiple issues. I'm sure they would be happy to offer you a little extra magic on your next trip to make it right. Good luck.

In defense of pp, we were given a slip at the security check in that said to keep your bags in the car. We parked in the check in lot and I went in to check in. I think that is intended for you not to take all of your stuff in with you to check in. However, since I've been to disney before I knew I needed to asked for help with my bags out front. When I asked after check in, a bellman had us follow him with him driving a golf cart back to ranchos and he helped with our bags.

But I had a similar experience to your our very first trip and I know now it was a rookie mistake. We were at asmu and drove our car around to the parking lot where our room was and started looking for something to help with our stuff. This was several years back when the values didn't have fridges and we had brought our own. There was no one back there and we didn't know what to do so DH carried everything including the mini fridge half way across the resort. We were very unhappy and it wasn't a very magical start to our first disney vacation.

However, we now look back on that and laugh. It was a rookie mistake that we will never make again. We always are sure to secure help with our bags up front and have not since then had a problem.

We will be going to CSR for our first stay there and first Christmas trip in December. Hoping that someone will please take the time to let us future visitors know what is left for stations at the Pepper Market. Mexican and burgers aren't exactly something we all enjoy on a regular basis, so we were really planning on the carving station and make your own pasta station.
Here's hoping they bring them back, but my guess is that they aren't planning on it. At least their are plenty of QS options on Disney property, but Pepper Market was to be our go to when tired or just spending some time at the resort.

My other worry is whether or not this is going to make the stations available at the Pepper Market unbearably crowded, especially with holidays and/or conventions!

If I wanted soda, then yes I'd use my mug, and then no, I wouldn't need a vending machine with....SODA:confused3 I went over to POR and got honest tea, my DD got powerade, smart water, lots of things even values have that we couldn't with our meals. Yes cafe rix has powerade, but can't get it unless we want something out of their cold refrigerator for lunch. I guess this board is only for all sunshine, rainbows and positives. I gave my positives and negatives, thinking that it would help someone who has never stayed here. The fact is the drink selection IS LESS than all other resorts, and the carving station and pasta are gone. Sugar coat as much as you want, I'm just saying what I saw. Since I plan on not staying here again I'm done with this board, have fun

I'm 60 days out from our visit, and I'm trying to do our online check-in, but it's not letting me... Do we think the site is down? Or do preferred rooms not need to do it?

It's also 12:30 in the morning, so maybe I'm the one messing things up! :rotfl2:

I think you saw a work in progress, as this has been posted today:

Just got back from a week at CSR in a BC room and had a wonderful time. We didn't like the location of our first room, called the front desk from the room's phone, and within 5 minutes had a new room exactly as requested (2nd floor, close to parking).

Cabanas 9B is really a wonderful location, close to El Centro and a pleasant walk to the Dig Site. It was really nice walking on the little bridge to the Dig Site at night with all the lights. The downside of being in such a good location was that we never ventured to the Ranchos or Casitas section.

Had dinner at Pepper Marker a few times and it was okay. Large portions from the chef specialty counter that would be enough for two kids or adults with smaller appetites. If you're ordering from more than one station, it can be a little difficult to pick up and carry all the food. Multiple trips would probably be necessary. Desserts were just okay. Definitely no pasta station or meat carving station when we were there--too bad.

Access to the club lounge was great. It wasn't too crowded when we were there, but we were usually there early-ish. Besides the drinks that are put out, you can also request apple juice boxes and chocolate (Nesquick) milk bottles to take. They were really handy for the kids later in the day. The coffee in the lounge was way better than in Pepper Market for some reason. The only thing I didn't like was the whole cleaning up situation. The CMs would say just to leave everything on the tables and I would feel super awkward and unsure if I was supposed to leave a tip or not. I almost wish there was an area to bus your own plates, haha.

We didn't use the buses, but we were always able to get a spot super close to our room. Overall, it was a great experience and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
