I am happy to have found this thread! We are POR transplants that just booked with Free Dining December 20-27. I don't expect it to compare to the deluxe resorts, but how are the Christmas decorations there?

The lobby and main building are actually decorated quite nicely. They have a large tree in the checkin area and Christmas decorations all over the main building. The rest of the resort doesn't have any special decoration, but I believe the lobby is the best of the Mod resorts.

We'll see you there! We're doing a full 2 weeks from Dec. 12th-26th.

If you have a car, I would drive to Ft. Wilderness and then park and take the internal bus to Pioneer Hall.
If you don't have a car, take the bus to the Magic Kingdom and then take the boat to Ft. Wilderness which drops you off right near Pioneer Hall.

Make sure to allow plenty of time. While overall travel time isn't that much, you don't know how long you will have to wait for the bus or the boat. I would rather be really early and spend some time walking around the Fort, than be late.

Disney will transfer your luggage for you, but I prefer quick and simple. Take a taxi that way you have your luggage with you. Should cost about $20 with tip. Taxi are waiting right outside the lobby at CSR. One of the CMs will call one over for you.

I have a business class question. Can you take food back to your room for a later time? I know MK EMH can be as early as 7am. If I know we will be leaving the resort early some mornings, can we take some cereal and milk the day before and keep in our room fridge? Using the same thought, if we are heading out the door for the evening around 5pm, can we grab a couple beers and snacks right at 5 and bring to our room for a late night drink when we return from the resorts?

Yes, you can take whatever you'd like. I would also bring a box of ziplocs. They come in handy for the snacks. I fill a cup with nuts in the lounge in the evening then bring them to the park for a snack or whenever.

Thanks! Since the lounge hours are limited, I'm trying to find ways to benefit from the offerings at times that are more convenient for us.

As stated you can take everything out of the lounge, however with the beer they open it and pour in plastic cup. So can't really save it for later.

You can take the bus and be fine. We always do breakfast at Crystal Palace on MK days and have never missed it. When walking back to my room after a workout at around 6:45 to 7:00 ish, I see buses running.

Buses start rolling at 6:30AM for early ADRs.

We are very excited for our first stay stay at CSR! Our dates are over Christmas, 12-18-26. Our daughter is turning 14 on Christmas Day. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading all about CSR. DH and I almost stayed here last year, but ended up staying at POP and getting AP with the price difference.

Does anyone know how the location of connecting standard view rooms?

I'm just wondering when free dining is offered in the US for this year?
I'm staying at CSR August 17-29th and have read lots of people choosing CSR because they can't get POR. Just wondering if it's going to be very crowded when I'm there.
(I'm in the UK, that's why I'm clueless on when it is offered to US residents).
