Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

Does anyone know of any conventions that will be at CSR from September 2-13? We were originally booked for Coronado and then switched to CBR to try something different, but have now switched back at the last minute due to the bridge construction. I haven't had much time researching anything going on at the Coronado. Thanks!

I looked a while back and nothing came up. My dates are very similar to yours.

Hi. We are planning early and want to stay at CSR for the first time in October 2016. Is there something going on then though? More than a year in advance and there's no availability for CSR with double beds (and almost nothing at WL and AKL too for comparison). We are looking at splitting Oct 17-22 at CSR and then til 29 at GF (there's plenty at GF for both weeks). I'm just shaking my head and wondering if we need to move dates

Maybe try calling? It would also make sense to me if they didn't release all their rooms until the convention schedule was set for next year. Or maybe they have some conventions tentatively planned with blocks of rooms set aside, and those people all have a deadline when they have to book for the group rate?

I'm assuming that since there aren't any conventions going on during our stay that the busses will most likely be more crowded?

I hope not. I guess it depends on how they plan the buses.
I'm not a very good reference for buses, because I stayed at two notoriously bad bus resorts (CBR and AKL) and loved them, then stayed at POFQ and hated it.

What would you say the difference is from when a conference/convention is on to when there isn't any on during a stay?

I've heard that when there isn't a conference going on, the resort is packed with more tourists which means the pool and busses will be fuller. When there's a conference, a lot of those people don't even hit the parks and if they do it's not as often. They are there to sit in the conferences most of the time and hit the bars, restaurants, quite pools, etc.
Atleast that is what I assume considering I've never stayed there nor attended a conference there.

Hi everyone - taking a look at the opening FAQ, I see there are handling costs for letters and parcels, seemingly due to the convention center. Last year we stayed at CSR and had a number of things sent to us, but didn't pay - do you think this is because they were sent to the resort not the convention center? Any wisdom on this subject?

9 more days until we are at CSR! We've been to CBR, WL and BC. We are excited for the spanish theming and look forward to the busses. Our best busses were at WL and our aboslute worst were at CBR. I just hope CSR's busses are as good as everyone says. I think as long as they don't share with another resort, they will be great!
I'm Gluten Free and hoping there are some good choices at the pool bar if we end up staying in that section. Anyone know if they have GF buns for burgers or GF chicken tenders poolside?

Has anyone seen the refurb of bus stp 3/Ranchos yet? Does it look major? Will be there from the 8th, was hoping for Ranchos but not if the Bus Stop is out of action.
Bus stop was out of action tonight. Theres barricades around it so you can't really see what's going on. I definitely would NOT recommend Rancho, I felt so sorry for the folks staying there. Its a long hike any bus stop you get off at.

Not sure why a temp stop was not set up but they should e working on the stop for two more weeks. It was safety related.

We haven't been to CSR since the first year they were open. We had our kids with us at the time and now we will have ONE night by ourselves this October. We are so excited to just enjoy the resort and swim and hang out since we have a resort only reservation......

My question is, are fax requests usually honored? What about requests made through touringplans?

Faxes are honored at CSR if possible. Requests are not guaranteed. I don't know what tourinplans is.

Just back from a wonderful stay at CSR! Every CM that we encountered was absolutely wonderful. We had a BC room and absolutely loved it...would highly recommend. Mousekeeping was very good and our room was very clean. Pepper market was very good and had a great interaction with a manager there (he noticed that we were struggling, trying to carry everything, grabbed a tray and brought it to our table)
We also had a very magical moment when my DD6 lost her 1st tooth. I went to the gift shop asking where I could buy some "pixie dust." The CM said she didn't know but would find out. The manager didnt know either but since this was a magical moment they needed to do something. I couple of minutes later they emerged with a magical moments certificate signed by their resident tooth fairy....tinkerbell. plus a tinkerbell pin and a button that said I'm celebrating my lost 1st tooth! I was just beside myself, I couldn't believe how thoughtful they were. Having stayed at almost every resort (except GF, FW and POP) this was probably the best stay we have had. I think that says a lot!

that is so great to hear! what a sweet story!!! :)

I'm hoping they do something nice for us since we are celebrating two birthdays and our 13th anniversary! :)

14 days. So excited. First time staying at a moderate resort. I was able to do it because of free dinning. My travel agent put in a request for one of the buildings. Staying in standard room. Cant wait. One question. Can I find a map of the resort on google maps?

Just to let you all know, bust stop 3 is back open! We arrived yesterday, originally horrified when they placedvus in Ranchos 7A, the corner closest to the bust stop! Close to transportation was our major request due to one of us just getting out of hospital! Turned out to be the best outcome for all!
