Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

How "big" is 9b. We have two bc rooms booked. Meaning if our rooms were very far from the lounge, how far of a walk is it?

Cabana 9b is just one building with about 70 rooms. The lounge is in the middle, front.

I have never stayed at CSR before but will be staying there next month in an executive suite. Does anyone know if the suites have access to the business class lounge?

We are staying at Corondo Springs 2/17 through 2/22. I just got an email from Disney saying the main pool will be closed for refurb. This is the first we have heard of this and it makes my family very upset, a major part of why we chose this resort was the pool. Does anybody know if this is true? If this is true is there anyway Disney would give us some kind of discount on a room in another resort such as wilderness lodge or animal kingdom?

What?? I haven't heard anything about that either. We'll be there 3/16-3/19 and are hoping for a little swimming...

I understand things have to be maintained and such, but yes I would be upset if the pool was closed off like that during my dates and they did'nt offer anything in return. You are paying for a resort with a water slide. Good to know it won't effect our dates but there are some that it could effect majorly.

Also, there are elevators in each section, right? In case we get a upper level floor.

Oh, thank goodness the pool is only closed for a few days! We are arriving on 2/22 so it looks like it will be open for our stay. Phew!

Well, since your email came from Disney, I would assume that it is true. If the main pool is a major factor in your resort selection, you could ask to be transferred to a similar category room at another mod. Disney is highly unlikely to upgrade you to a deluxe.

All 5 executive suites are in casita 1. I don't think they would get Cocino Cove access since they are not in 9B.

Oh no! We are their from 14th-20th. I didn't get an email! That's kind of mean.

On phone with Disney now and they told me Feb. 9-20th! OMG!! About to cry. I have 5 kids, 2 rooms connecting. They can't find another hotel for us to switch!! My kids are going to be severely sad!

Such conflicting info! The main Coronado Springs website says it will be closed Feb 18-20, and then I just called re: my reservation (2/13-2/17) as well and the lovely CM said she checked with engineering and they said that was Caribbean Beach that was due for refurb during that time .... Guess I will see when I get there (and make a back up plan for our pool day...)

Close to transpertation, food, pool (not ness dig site pool persay)

Between 8a, 8b, and 9a which would you recommend

Hi guys, I just wanted to jump in here to say that we will be at CSR in October, this will be our first stay here . We haven't officially booked yet (our tax return is due to come sometime this week and once we get it, I am booking it ), but last night DH and I were talking about where we would like to stay and we have always been interested in this resort. Our dates will be from 10/21-10/26 and this will be a surprise for both DD11 and DD13. We are very excited about staying here. I think we are just going to book a standard room, but would like to be close to the main pool, any suggestions as to which area we should request? I know a request is a just a request, but I like to put at least an area in. I was sort of thinking of the Ranchos, because it looks like it is closer to the main pool, what does everyone think? The only down side about this area is that it looks far away from the main building, how far is it actually from there. Any insight on the resort would be great. Thank you in advance.

w just stayed in cabanas i think it was 8b and it was great. close to bus stop 4 , close to the main pool and pretty close to the main building as well. it's a really pretty resort with a very nice main pool. there was also a quiet pool very close by as well as laundry. hope you have a great trip!

Do they still do movie night by the pool? Anyone ever been on Easter and know if the hotel has anything (Easter bunny or anything). I think I was Easter to be our down day and was hoping to maybe hang at the hotel.

CSR had a special schedule of activities the past 2 years we've been there. Activities included, Candy Scramble, Easter trivia games, an egg hunt, Easter crafts, normal pool activities, campfire and movie at night. Mickey and Minnie meet and greet with Minnie in her Easter dress and bonnet. Hoping for the same this year.

CSR is my favorite Mod, actually it is even one of my favorites including some Dlxs! We went the last week in Jan this year, and I chose to stay at POR because I wanted to stay in a Royal Guest Room. We have stayed before at POR, but never really cared for it. We liked POFQ much better, especially the bus service! Anyway, when we arrived I was really not that impressed with the Royal Room. It was nicely decorated, but I just felt an overall upset sinking feeling, like gee...I wish we were at CSR. Needless to say after one night at POR, I was fortunate to be able to get us to move to CSR! We had a wonderful time, and now I learned my lesson! If we are going to stay at a mod it HAS to be CSR, maybe POFQ..lol! But, for anyone wondering about CSR, it truly is one of the best Disney Resorts IMO!
