Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

Does anyone know if the water in the BC lounge is filtered? We just can't get used to the taste of Florida's water, haha. Is the water at the PM refill station filtered?

Just bought our Fl resident Discover Disney tickets today and we're almost to the 60 day mark. It's getting so real!

Just back from a 5 day stay at Coronado. Loved the resort. Found our room in Casitas 4 to be very quiet, well kept and clean. Cast members have been friendly. Had requested Cabanas and was very happy to be placed in Casitas. Wait times for a bus varied day to day but overall not too bad. Most days were able to get a seat on the return trip and didn't have to wait too long if we didn't get on the first bus. Always got on at stop 2 with no problem. Resort was quiet in my opinion at least in our area of the resort. Would not hesitate to stay here again. So glad for all the information that I found here. I felt like I had a good idea of how to navigate the resort because of all of you!

I apologize if this has already been asked, but how long is the walk from CSR to the McDonald's on property?

My guess would be about 20 minutes to walk to McDonalds.

The CM's in the lounge said all disney water is filtered.

Thanks for the info. We definitely had some water on our last trip in the parks that was not filtered....yuck!

Does the PM refill station have water? Little lever to pull down for water instead of soda?

Any updates on this? We are traveling in April & I am a little worried over getting bumped out of the resort.

I'm a 54 female travelling solo and will be staying Feb 28 - Mar 3. Just booked last night a MYW package (with a pin code:woohoo:) and even though I have travelled Disney solo many times, this will be my 1st time at CSR:yay:. I have stayed mostly at Pop and once at AoA, FQ and RS. Still deciding if renting or not a car. I do enjoy walking the resorts grounds a lot and resort hopping but like to be close to food and transportation. What area do you recommend to request?

Hi from a fellow female (sometimes) solo traveler! I have stayed CSR many times, often solo. I like Casitas and Cabanas best for convenience to El Centro. Casitas 1-3 are "Preferred" and Cabanas 9B is "Business Class". If not booking one of those categories, I'd suggest requesting Casitas 4 or 5; nearest to Bus Stop #2 (which is actually the 1st bus stop!) or Cabanas (which is near El Centro). Ranchos is nice too, but slightly further removed from the lobby/food area. My preferences would be Casitas, Cabanas, Ranchos - in that order! :thumbsup2

I love CSR and its central location to the theme parks is a real plus for me! I like to take an early morning stroll around the resort. It's beautiful and so peaceful! :cloud9:

First off, thank you to everyone who has contributed to this thread. You have been most helpful! I've spent the last few days reading through 180+ pages of posts, haha. I've been organizing our family vacation for a little while now, and I think I've convinced them CSR is the resort for us. We are going in September, so I just hope I can remember everything I've read. ;)

I apologize if this has already been asked, but how long is the walk from CSR to the McDonald's on property? How long is the walk if we took the BB bus and then walked from BB to McDonald's? Is Buena Vista Drive very scenic? Busy road? All a sidewalk path next to the road? Any details are appreciated. I don't personally like Mickey D's, but I know a couple family members will want to frequent it!
Your question made me curious so I looked it up on Google Earth, (it has a distance measuring tool). It shows it's approximately 1.17 miles from the entrance of CSR to McDonald's, and it does appear that there is a sidewalk all the way. So your looking at 2 1/2 miles round trip minimum from your room, and even further if you're in one of the Ranchos rooms. But it looks like a very short car ride if you have a car.

Thanks for the additional info. That seems a bit far for McDonald's, haha...but my brother might consider it. I heard there's a bus that goes from CSR to Blizzard Beach, so it might not be too bad to take that bus and then walk from BB.

Why would anyone go out of their way to go to McDonald's?

I know, right? Its not like there aren't ample opportunities to clog your arteries at any resort or park without going through the time and inconveniene of trekking over to Mickey D's.

Perhaps its a budget thing. They are probably cheaper than Pepper Market. Or maybe the OPs family lives in an area without a Golden Arches.

Although I haven't been to the McDonald's in Disney when I was doing an on-site trip, we have gone there off-site. It is cheaper than the resort food courts.

Thanks so much RachelTori for your response, my 1st choice would be the Casitas as well but is not listed in the online check-in choices. Do you rent a car when traveling solo? I always rent a car at the airport but last time took the Magical Express round trip (loved it) and rented a car for 2 days at the Car care center. My stay was at Pop (room only) and used the car only 2 times in 4 days to go to Walmart and CVS. This time booked the QS dinning plan with the STD room at CSR. I'm considering whether to rent the car or upgrading preferred room without renting. I love walking around the resort but prefer to be really close to the food court. Still deciding.... Can also keep the STD and get lucky with a good location and keep my expenses down.;)

I always let Disney do the driving! Even when I drive down, my car stays parked the entire time! So much easier to hop on a bus, the monorail or boat than dealing with driving/parking lots/trams!

If I absolutely need to get somewhere quickly, on-site or off, I take a taxi! Bell Services takes care of getting the taxi - and the wait is usually no more than 5 minutes.

When you check-in, if you're not happy with the location, you can always ask if there are any rooms closer to the food court (or whatever is important to you). Unless they are completely full there's a good chance they can switch you to a room closer to your request! :thumbsup2

Why would anyone go out of their way to go to McDonald's?

Good question. You should ask my brother. His eyes lit up when I told him there was a McDonald's on property, haha. I'm not quite sure why he likes it. I suppose he thinks he'll save a little money on food, but I think he just likes it. :confused3

:offtopic: But being back in Boston with freezing temperatures seriously has me missing the Laguna Bar! Bartender was always friendly, and I loved sitting and chatting with whoever else happened to be at the bar with me!

The McDonald's on property has inflated prices. It also does not have a dollar menu.

I saw that when I was there. Still cheaper than the Disney food courts, though. Not enough that I felt it was worth going there, but it is cheaper by a small amount.
