Are movies "on demand" available from the Hotel's TV system? What about Disney music or stories on the radio or TV?
They usually listen to something while falling asleep and I really don't want to have to pack a portable CD-Player.:earseek:

Disney has read along stories at night. They are about 15 minutes each. The exact same ones you can buy. Like Tarzen, Little Mermaid, etc. My 4.5 yo thought they were pretty cool.

No other movies on demand....... I REALLY wish they would offer them.

The day bed is just a pull out couch it is the same size as a twin bed. My DH slept on it 7/03 as my DS5 was running temp and wanted MOM. He was so tired the first night and cranky we relented. Then my DH told me it was the best night sleep he has had in awhile. I apparently kick in my sleep LOL Oh well its a trade he snores. :D

Have a great trip.

I was just wondering if anyone here ever got a good AP rate for the CR in October in the past. We are going in October and gathering info now just in case we can stay ON-SITE :hyper: ! It doesn't matter what type of room, but please share your rate ;) .

I will be leaving in 18 days :bounce: I will be staying in the tower i have asked for the M.K. view. I had read a while back to ask for a odd number room but one one said why but found out tonight on another thread that the odd number rooms your feet face the window so you can see M.K. change colors. is this correct

please let me know if there is anything else I need to know about the CR that not everybody knows.

thanks again
Brooke

I was wondering how good the view is to see the castle from a Tower room on the bottom floor.?

Someone asked about the room decor on the 11th floor.

I have a few pics that I posted on my site and wish I had more for you, but some were too dark...like the bathroom pics and WISHES fireworks! :(
Of course, I'll put that one on DH!:p

And....odd-numbered rooms on the MK side have the beds that face the castle! AWESOME!!!!

Thought we'd be returning this June, but with my parents, we're not going to be able to "sleep around" like we usually do!:( :( :(

But, we'll be returning this next January.

And DH said that maybe we'll make a quickie trip to CR later this summer! Would be really sweet to get another CR Tower Club room with an AP discount!::yes::

Now for those pictures......click here for CR Tower room photos!

Hi all - we just returned from our CR stay on Tuesday afternoon! We had a great time and DD was very well treated on her birthday!

Anyway, although we felt that the CR is not one of our favorite resorts (the decor, mainly), it was certainly worth staying there at least once (in the Tower!) to appreciate the stunning views!! We requested a non-smoking room, facing the MK, and an odd-numbered room, if possible. Well, we didn't get an odd-numbered room, but we didn't care because as the CM told us at check-in, we had one of the best rooms in the place - 11th floor (yay!), room #4742, which was on the end of the building very close to the MK. When we opened the curtains, I actually yelled, "Oh my God!"...that's how close we were! The views of the GF and Poly are also lovely. At night it was absolutely magical - just like they say it is. At midnight on 2 of the nights we were there, they had Grad Night fireworks at the MK to end their party, and watching them from the balcony was spectacular (and loud - DH woke up and got out of bed to watch with me!).

All in all, it was a terrific trip! I'm sure all of you guys who will be at the CR soon will have a great time, too! ::yes::

Hello everyone. I'm booked at the Contemporay June 25-28 in a "Garden Water view." According to the CM, this means I could face "the pool, Bay Lake, or the marina" depending on which wing I get at check-in.

Having stayed in the Garden Wing last year (in the South Wing, facing the courtyard between the two halves of the building), I fell in love with those first floor rooms either facing Bay Lake or the canal.

Has anyone stayed in those rooms, or their equivalent on the North Wing side? They looked so quiet and peaceful - a great place to have a cup of coffee or drink in the early morning or late evening. What else should I expect?

Bumping just in case anybody can answer my question ;) . TIA!

I am really excited as we have booked a night in a tower room as a suprise for DS and DD. I will be our first time ever staying on site. We will arrive for our character breakfast at Chef Mickey's and then let them know that we are staying :cheer2:

Anyway I have read all 16 pages of this great thread and have a couple of questions.

1. What is the Californian Grill like for breakfast??

2. Can anyone recommend the kids club - I am sure my two would love to try it for an hour or two

3. How much does it cost to rent water mice - and do you need to book them in advance? :boat:

4. If we are lucky enough to get an MK view can we still see the electric water pagent from our room? if not where could we see it from.

5. If we are at MK to watch Spectromagic will we have time to get back to our room before wishes starts.

Sorry about all the questions but I am really excited.

We had our trip booked long before I found these boards so I didn't think we could get to stay on-site till our 2005 trip - I am just so pleased that we can experience the magic before then - even if it is for only one night

1. The California Grill is only open for dinner.

2. I dont know.

3. $30 for an hour. You don't book them in advance; there's plenty available. It's a lot of fun.

4. The EWP visits the Contemporary at about 9:30 on the Bay Lake side. i'm not sure of the time, actually. Check www.wdwig.com

5. You might get back in time. Walking back to the hotel is probably fastest.

We've stayed at the Contemporary many, many times and we are planning on going back Sept/Oct.We always try and stay in the tower and last Oct we were on the 11th floor and had a MK view and it was great. My question is:what room numbers on the 11th floor with a MK view have connecting or ajoinging rooms? We have 2 rooms booked and I have my map with the room numbers but I'd like to know which ones are connecting or ajoining and for sure want a MK view.I know that we can request these things are if they the room numbers and views (and floor) are open then we are more likely to get what we request.I pefer the 11th floor with a MK view and if there's nothing with connecting or ajoinging (I can never remember which one they call it) rooms it's fine,as long as I get my MK view.So if anyone knows how I can find out the answer to this question please e-mail me at: mickeys_friend@hotmail.com Thanks

TinkTatoo,

We just returned from the CR and had a MK view. The EWP is at 10:05 on the other side of the hotel. Just go downstairs and view it from the beach or the pier - my DD says it's one of her fave things at WDW! It's cute and lasts about 7 or 8 minutes.

When we were there, Wishes started about 30 minutes after Spectro ended. If you walk very quickly to the monorail, you just may make it up to your room in time. My DD hates the loudness of the fireworks, so that's what we should have done, but we like to duck into the ice cream shop right across from Casey's corner, while it's still totally empty, and enjoy a sundae in a freshly baked waffle bowl, while waiting to see Wishes - it's a tradition now!

Mickey's friend,

We were on the 11th floor, facing the MK, in room 4742 (awesome view!) and it had a door to an adjoining room, I noticed.

Thanks phyllis1966

DS (7) & DD (6) both have autism and would not like the noise either so I was hoping to watch the parade from the railway platform and then leg it back to the room in time for wishes.

I can't wait

AESALSA,

If you go to www.mousesavers.com, they have broken down rates for AP, FLorida residents, etc. at different times of year. They also have charts for value, regular, peak seasons for deluxe resorts and rack rates so that you can appreciate what a discount you are getting. The rates for October probably won't be out until approx. August, but you could get an idea of the AP discount during regular season at the CR at previous times this year. Hope this helps.

Thank you SOOOO much ::yes:: ! For helping me out, here's a little gift: :flower3: I'm going to mousesavers right now ;) !

:wave2:

I tried to email you, but I got a "delivery failure" notification. Anyway, the room adjoining was definitely #4741, and I know this because DD announced all the room #'s on the way back to the room every time!

Thanks for the info.Sorry about not getting my e-mail to work,it stays full lately and I don't have enough time to clear it out everyday.I checked my map and found out that the room we had last time (Oct1,03)was 11th floor room 4748 the last room toward the MK and we loved that room, but none of us (we had 5 in our room) can remember if it had a ajoining door,I guess we were to interested in the view,it was great. We were there 7 days so it lookes like one of us could remember something like that. Thanks so much, your room numbers are the only ones so far that I know for sure are ajoining. When are you going back?Hope we can get the floor and room numbers we request.I'am going to wait a little longer and see if anyone else has anymore room numbers. Thanks again.

hello all,
I am now to the 9th day, and i need to ask one more question.

I have made ressies for the tower so If you are standing in front of the CR (where you drive up ) is M.K. on your left or right?

If possible I would like to get a room with the best view and thanks again for your help.
