Hi BambiTamby,

We'll be at CR in 3 weeks(!!!) and I noticed that you said you requested an odd-numbered room - is that because all odd-numbered rooms face MK?

Thanks! :sunny:

you've got it!:teeth:
Rooms in the tower, numbers XX25- XX48 face the MK.
The ODD numbered rooms BEDS face the castle.
Just imagine going to sleep watching the castle change colors and waking up to it!

Have a wonderful trip, phyllis !

just got that info from my "files".;)

the hospitality suite is 473 sq ft and goes for $540 w/o taxes per night during regular season.
1 bedroom MK view....$1180 per night. (1428 sg ft)
2 bedroom MK view suite is a mere $1745 per night. (about 2000 sq ft.)

So, you can see, that my two rooms on 12th floor at AP rate was considerably less than the 2 bedroom suite on the 14th!:earseek:

Thx BT!
My mom is contemplating going w/us a week from Monday...and altho that 1 bdrm suite is huge, the beds and sofa/bed are full w/the 4 of us..... last time, we tried letting each kid have a bed, so *they* took the master w/the queens, while my wife and I slept on the sofabed.

THAT lasted one night!:earseek:

So now the kids share the sofabed, which leaves an EXTRA bed in the master...but I dunno if we'd be comfortable w/my mom sleeping in it right next to us! Hmmm...possibilities.

I see that the price of the 2 bdrm suite is almost the same $$ as the 1 bdrm suite + another room (suite = $25 more)... while the sq ft is also very close.

And that (2) 14th floor CL rooms are $100 less per night than the 1 bdrm suite, but almost 600 sq ft less as well!

So as far as CR 14th, it pays to grab the suite (if avail) in leiu of 2 rooms...otherwise, the best option is definitely 12th floor at discounted rate.

I might be better off w/3 12th floor rooms if mom decides to go....egads, am I spoiled!:hyper: ::yes::

Hey all you CR experts!

I'll be faxing my room request in 2 weeks and was wondering if anyone konws where the non-smoking rooms are located. We have a tower room booked. I know what to request for the best views of MK, but will that be possible with a non-smoking room?

Thanks!

Yes, it is possible. Just ask for a non-smoking MK view room. understand that they try to accomodate all request. I sure hope that you get yours.

I'm so glad to see this thread! This Oct. will be our fourth WDW trip and this time we're staying at the CR for the first time. Each trip I wanted to stay at the CR, but was always talked out of it. I even found the gal at CRO to be down on the CR. The comments are always to the effect of--its cold (design-wise), dated decor, not an appealing theme, etc. Well, we always end up spending a lot of time at the CR anyways because my kids love Chef Mickey's and its a monorail stop. We've stayed both on the monorail (Polynesian) and off the monorail and offiste. You simply can't beat the covenience of being on the monorail, especially if your trip is short, 3-4 days. You want to maximize your time at the parks, not spend half a day driving around getting lost like we did last trip when we stayed at DTD. I LIKE the CR, and I'm going to stay there, whether or not others like it! I want a tower room with a castle view. We're going this Oct. for 3 nights for the MNSSHP, and I feel the short stay combined with party makes the CR the best choice time and convenience-wise. CR here we come!

hi, has anyone who stayed on the 14th floor been bothered from the california grill restaurant noise from the floor above? they must have some amazing soundproofing if you can't hear restaurant noises right above you. unless there are no rooms directly beneath the restaurant. anyone?

We are staying at CR for the first time this October. We requested a tower room, 11th floor, MK view. I've seen several different pictures of the interiors of the CR rooms. Some are very bright, almost loud decor, some appear almost drab--all dull browns and dreary looking. I've also seen a few pics of rooms that have a tasteful, muted color scheme. From the pic and the view I can see of the balcony it appears these are tower rooms. They also have a bench at the foot of each bed, and a tablecloth on the round table. Is this what I can expect from the tower rooms? Or is that a pic of the concierge floor?

Yikes! We leave TOMORROW and the Contemporary is our first resort - for 4 nights and then off to the Boardwalk Inn for 4 nights! (2nd stay at BWI and 1st at CR) We are on the 14th floor concierge MK view and when I spoke with them the other day I was told we have a suite so I can't wait to get there!!!!! :)

DH has always wanted to stay at the CR, so in our quest to sleep around the world we decided to stay there this trip - gotta love how close it is to the MK!

Thanks for starting this and all the work involved.

Jill...who has to finish packing! :wave2:

thanks Brooke

Yes, plenty of towels! They're usually over near the Sand Bar, and they do a nice job of keeping them stocked.

Do the garden deluxe suites sleep 6?

Do they ever offer these rooms at an AP rate?

We will be staying at the CR in a couple weeks. I was wondering if anyone can help me will a few questions:

#1 We will be in a garden wing room with a daybed (cheapest view). I have tried to find a picture of the daybed. I notice that someone else said the daybed will fine for pre-teen. Do you know if it is regular twin size and an adult can sleep on it?

#2 Do you know if these rooms have a mini-bar in them? Do you know if there is room for a couple sippy cups? Can they empty the mini-bar for you? I read about this for a different resort (Dolphin) I think. Just wondered about the DIsney properties. My little one likes milk just before bed & right when she gets up in the morning. We may have to rent a fridge. Also want to be able to re-freeze icepacks that we will use during the day. We will have a cooler, but can't freeze icepacks in that. ANyone know?

#3 What room number can I request? Are there any convenient to the food court area? Close to walk to MK? Any suggestions?

Thanks so much.

The bed is a nice bed, but an adult might have a hard time finding the room to sleep on it unless they are small or thin

No, there are not mini-bars in the room. You have to rent a refrigerator and then it will come empty.

The third question, I can't answer. But maybe someone else can, I've only stayed in the tower.

I can help you with this one!

Ask for a room in the north wing. It's closest to the food court and bus stop. We were on the 2nd floor about 1/2 way down. We had a perfect view of the fireworks from our room! It was nice to curl up in our jammies & watch own own private show ;) ! The north side is also closer to the MK. It is a bit further from the pools though.

In general, the CR is a pretty compact resort. You won't have more than a 5 minute walk where ever you stay!

Enjoy!!

Leaving next week for the Contemporary with a couple of pre-school age kids. What's in the room to entertain them?

Are movies "on demand" available from the Hotel's TV system? What about Disney music or stories on the radio or TV?
They usually listen to something while falling asleep and I really don't want to have to pack a portable CD-Player.:earseek:

As far as the day bed , in my experience it is a twin size bed that can accomodate a normal size adult.
