Tell the Bell Services outside, and they'll have someone come down and escort you up to the 12th floor.

I have pictures on Deb Wills site of the b'fast offerrings (typical b'fast stuff- cerals, donuts, patries, etc). CR Fan should be along with a more complete list for you.

My first time in CR and very excited to stay there.
Does anyone have a listing of all the food available in the atruim level and what times food are served. I hoping someone has a list like in the Grand Floridian forum.

The Continental Breakfast is from 7:00 AM - 10:30 AM, Refreshments are from 11:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Wine and Cheese Selections are from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM and finally the Cordials and Desserts are from 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM.

As for the food that is available during breakfast it's your standard items, the refreshments some days can be cup cakes, brownies and rice krispy squares. I don't remember all the foods at 5:00 PM for everday, however here are some of the days I do remember. Tuesday is Beef Wellington Puff Pastries, however I forget the 2nd item, Wednesday is Mini Pizza's and Mini Keishs, Thursday is Chicken Wings and Ribs, Saturday is Mini Spring Rolls however I forget the 2nd item and Sunday is Steamed Shrimp and a Raspberry Brie and Puff Pastrie. When it comes to the deserts those also can be different each night, however I don't remember much of them.

Another questions, how do we check-in since its our first time in CR and Atruim Level. Do we go to the general check-in?

As Denise said someone will come down and meet you, however it will be a bellman who will take you and your family up to the 12th floor to check-in up there. So don't be expecting a Cast Member from the 12th floor to be the ones who meet you, since that is the way it's been done everytime my family and I have stayed there.

You're welcome and to answer your question, have you contacted the Contemporary IPO about doing something for your son's birthday? Besides that I am sure they would also have fun playing in the arcade on the 4th floor.

I've never stayed at the Contemporary, but we're thinking of staying there in Jan of 2009 if we decide to try the Disney Marathon.

Anyway, I remember a year or two ago, they redid the room decor. Was this in all of the rooms or just some? I remember seeing pictures of the new colors and furniture and the rooms were gorgeous! I have also seen pictures of the older decor with the wild purple-ish headache-inducing bedspreads, etc. and that kind of room would not appeal to me.

Just wondering if there are certain rooms or sections that were not redone so we know what to request when we make our reservations.

All the rooms in the Tower and South Garden Wing were 100% renovated. The only ones that were not was the rooms where the North Garden Wing use to be, since that area was demolished to make room for the future Disney Vacation Club building.

I just stayed there in December (garden wing) and I don't remember any "wild purple-ish headache-inducing bedspreads, etc." I was so exhausted from the theme parks that they wouldn't have caused this reaction in me even if they had been present.

The wake-up phone calls from Stitch, however, were quite annoying.

My husband, myself and my two girls are heading to WDW this coming Saturday. This will be our first trip ever. My girls are 5 and one will turn 8 while we are there. We will be staying at the CR, but I do not know the room number or floor. Maybe I could call later today and find out. I hope we have a MK view, that would be awesome for the girls. Who am I kidding, that would be awesome for me. My DH will be attending a convention for a couple days while we are there, so our room selection may have been based on that. Not sure. Could someone please explain what the Concierge service is exactly and are certain guests or floors privy to this? Sorry I don't travel often. I also wondered if anyone has used any babysitting service while there. My DH and I have made reservations for dinner one night at the California Grill and then we were going to go out after. I did contact Kids Night Out, but it seems to me there may be some service right at the CR. Any help and general information anyone wants to share would be greatly appreciated as I feel very unsure of anything at this point. Thank you and I think I should try and sleep now.

Congratulations on your trip! You will have a wonderful time! As far as view goes, MK is definately a special view (you can't beat ordering room service and watching the fireworks from your own balcony ), but CR has very few "bad" views. There are a handful in a garden wing that overlook a parking lot, but most other rooms have a view of water. Since you are there for a convention, you may want to contact the person responsible for booking the trip to find out the type of room. Usually with conventions the room is standard. You could always see about an upgrade when you arrive at WDW, or call ahead of time. The number for CR is 407-824-1000.

Your daughters are the perfect age to enjoy this resort and the novelty of a monorail running through it! Have you booked Chef mickey's for breakfast one morning? They would love that!!!!

As far as babysitting goes, I would recommend that you use the Neverland Club at the Polynesian. It offers a lot for the kids and it is a short monorail ride away from the CR. The phone # for it is 407-824-2000.

BTW, my daughters have stayed in a fair share of WDW resorts, and they all agree that CR has the best water slide!

How exciting for all of you!

The concierge floors are private just to the guests staying there. It is a substantial increase of cost. We did concierge at the Poly last year. We loved it but felt we didn't always make full use of it. The services include staff who will help with ADR's etc., and food and snacks throughout the day. I think there is a previous post mentioning times of day, types of food, etc just a page or two back.

As for MK view, I agree with the PP that it is very magical. However, this too is a different cost than a standard view. Maybe your husband's convention wouldn't mind you upgrading. If you only had to pay the difference that probably wouldn't be too bad. I would definitely look into it.

If not, you will still have an amazing time! It is a wonderful resort and you will love being so close to the MK!

I will check into an upgrade of room, as I called this morning and we are in the Garden Wing and they did not say whether or not we had a parking lot view or water view. I will see what I can do. Unfortunately we have a daughter with special needs, so we are unable to use any of the Disney Club child care services, so I have contacted someone called Sitter Solutions. If anyone has used them I would love to hear about your experience. I also have the number for Kids Night Out. Getting more excited by the minute!

We just got back yesterday, and they changed the check in somewhat. Instead of going to the outside by the valet/bell services, you go inside by the Bell services desk on the left. Someone is usually standing there to help with club level, if not tell the bellman and he will take you up. According to our bellman, they have outsourced the valet parking on the outside of the Contemporary for reasons that are confusing, I would imagine cost. I went up to the the outside desk when I got to the Contemporary ( that is where it was in March), but they said to go inside and ask. They took the sign down that had said Club Level check in on the outside.

Could someone please explain what the Concierge service is exactly and are certain guests or floors privy to this?

Here is the differences between the two Club Level floors at the Contemporary.

With the Atrium Club a Magic Kingdom View room has to be a request, just like with a Bay Lake View room. So the only thing you will be guaranteed is a room up there, however you may not get the view you want.

With the Tower Club there are a total of 16 rooms, 5 of which are standard rooms and the rest being 1 & 2 Bedroom Suites, a Vice Presidential Suite and a Presidential Suite. With the standard rooms once again there is no guarantee of a Magic Kingdom or Bay Lake View. However with any of the Suite rooms it will say Magic Kingdom or Bay Lake and that means you are guaranteed to have that specific room view. Chances are you could get a Magic Kingdom with a standard room since 4 of them are on the Magic Kingdom side and one is on the Bay Lake side. Of course that is not a 100% guarantee, because if you were to stay there they could be taken by other guests. So that means you would be in the Standard Room on the Bay Lake side.

The lounge on the 12th floor is bigger with more seating then the one on the 14th floor. However since they took out 2 or 3 rooms then the 12th floor lounge should be a lot bigger. Although the lounge on the 14th floor also offers seating outside on the balcony, which is something that is not offered on the 12th floor lounge.

If noise is not a factor with the 12th floor you can hear everything going down on the 4th floor, although with the expectation of singing going on at Chef Mickey's I don't find it that bad. If noise is a factor then the 14th floor is great because you don't look down to the 4th floor. However that means things would be a lot quieter, if you can live with that.

Finally both floors serve the exact same foods for breakfast, afternoon snacks, 5:00 PM hors d'oeuvres and 8:00 PM deserts & cordials.

So in the end the 12th floor Atrium Club is less expensive then the 14th floor Tower Club, even though on both floors you would get the exact same service. The 14th floor is more expensive because fewer number of rooms and because of the Suites.

We have a son with autism. We have used both "FairyGodmothers" and "KidsNiteOut"...and have had good luck with both. I cannot help with "Sitter Solutions", as I have never heard of them. I'm sure someone will come by soon with some info!!!
