DISNEY'S CONTEMPORARY RESORT Information Thread!

My guess is the new store is selling the items that were sold in the Fantasia store, which were the items directed towards kids. So I guess you can say the adult items are being sold at the Bay View Gifts store.

It's not exactly the same, but similar - it seems like a lot less merchandise to me than the Fantasia shop.

Also, I don't know where there would be a kids play area - I didn't see any area that would be large enough, but maybe.

I was just there two weeks ago and a cast member at the monorail station said that it would also contain a fun play area for the kids.

Could you explain this a little bit more? Also does anyone have pics of the new game room?

Its just a plain old game room with machines on the walls and a center island.

The game room has been there for months, I think I have pics of it up (from a number of months back). It isn't as nice as the old one.

Even though the new arcade location is not as big as the old area, they still brought up a fair number of games which could fit up there.

What EXACTLY is on the menu at the Tempo Grab n Go, particularly for breakfast? Are there ANY hot items? Somewhere I had found a picture of the menu boards a while ago, and can no longer find that picture. (I don't know if it was on the DIS or on Allearsnet.) I know others have said that the best thing to do is get danish, buns, etc with snack credits. But, I'll have my parents there in two months, and they like a regular breakfast type of thing. Going to a different resort for breakfast would be a bad idea, as they are 83 and that would probably add about 45 minutes to our schedule in the morning.

I've been watching several disney fan boards for months trying to locate the menu for Grab & Go with no luck. I'll be checking in at the Contemporary one week from tomorrow and will post a menu here so at least folks going in the future will have some info on the offerings.

These are some very nice photos of the store! I saw the construction going on in August and can't wait to check it out next month when we have breakfast at Chef Mickey.

Thanks. I was told the store would open the day prior to Thanksgiving, so I stopped by in the early afternoon. Again, it's considered a "soft-opening", I'm not really sure what they'd do for the Grand Opening.

As far as the Tempo Grab and Go - what I was told before opening (and I have stopped there since) is that there are no grills. So, no burgers and such. Most of what they have IS fruit, danishes, items in coolers, etc. They do hot dogs.

Remember you CAN get grilled type items at the outside pool fast-food place.
Though probably no breakfast, just burgers and such.

The concourse steakhouse seems to do a reasonable breakfast. The menu doesn't look to bad, although I think it counts as a TS, so you would probably want to pay out of pocket.

Right, that is where I meant. I would go there instead of Tempo when they are open for fast food (though I doubt they would have any breakfast).

I was told that the lobby coffee place would have an oven for cinnamon rolls once in their permanent location. Not sure what else they might make, if anything there!

Thanks everyone, for all your responses. I was MIA yesterday. I am now armed with the info I need and can plan ahead. And that Allearsnet series of pictures is what I remembered seeing; I just couldn't find it again.

We may have to hit the Steakhouse or Chef Mickey's for breakfast...or eat danish.

Does anyone know if there are laundry room facilities at the CR, and if so, where they are located? I'm going to be at WDW for 12 days, and I don't want to have to pack that many clothes, so I plan to do laundry midway through my stay.

They are located somewhere in the South Garden Wing building.
