CR Resort Fan 4 Life,

Thank you for the response. I guess it wouldn't make much sense to call it the Concourse Steakhouse if it wasn't on the Concourse anymore. I sure will miss their prime rib and mashed potatoes.

I appreciate your response.

Your welcome & happy I was able to help. :thumbsup2

Is the Concourse Steakhouse going to be moved or is going going away for good? I love eating there. I sure will miss it.

triplefigs,
I thought you had a trip booked for YC. Have your plans changed or are you going another time? I love looking at your posts because we change our minds and reservations as much as you do. I just love so many of the resorts its hard to pick one and one category and stick with it.

yes, we changed to the CR when it became available. My DS is a MAJOR monorail fanatic. We had such a fantastic trip there in Sept 06, that the CR is hands down our fave resort. We are really excited to go back! If we don't get to go in June for their b'day, we have a late Sept trip booked at the CR as well and will get to go to MNSSHP again.

Silly question, probably, but are there any *bad* MK View rooms in the tower? Or, anything specifically that I should request?

The only undesirable MK view rooms in the tower -- at least as far as DH and I are concerned -- are the ones overlooking Chef Mickey's. We could hear the noise inside our room.

My family & I sometimes have had a room under Chef Mickey's & personally we did not think it was bad at all. In my opinion the music was not that loud & sometimes it was nice hearing play if we happen to be inside our room.

Just wanted to say CR is our favorite resort too!! Hoping to spend our anniversary there again this December!

Question??? Can you see the fireworks from any MK view room? We are traveling with an 18 month old and can't imagine being out late everynight. Is this a good resort for an 18 month old? We were thinking that the monorail would be good and the walking distance from the hotel to MK is great.

No matter if your on the lowest Tower floor (5th floor) or the highest Tower floor (14th) you can see the Wishes from any room with a 100% clear view of the fireworks. I am not including the California Grill which is on the 15th floor since it's a restaurant & not a guest room, lol.

It's a great Resort for little kids with Chef Mickey's & since the Contemporary is the 1st stop on the Monorail when leaving the Magic Kingdom, you can get back there very fast.

But, if the baby is not a heavy sleeper.... the sound wakes us up everytime...we never have to worry about sleeping through the show....waking up to a canon outside your balcony definitely stirs you! lol

Does anyone happen to know when the changes to the Food & Fun Center and the Concourse Steakhouse are expected to be completed? Sorry if it's been asked, but I couldn't find it. :)

I asked this question last August when I was at the Contemporary & several Cast Members said it is going to happen sometime this year, however they could not say the dates it would start. The only thing as of right now that has started is the movingof the arcade to the 4th floor into the Fantasia store, because the Fantasia store has been closed with that wall around it that says renovating for your future enjoyment or something.

Thanks! That actually helps me quite a bit since we're not going until Christmas week. If things are expected to be finished "this year", then likely they'll be done by then. Hehe.

Staying CR Tower (stayed in the Garden Wing previously) is something we've always wanted to do and this time we're splurging for concierge as well. We're quite excited and the DDs don't know. ;)

triplefigs,

I know you will enjoy it whenever you get to go. The CR is an awsome place to stay. I have definitely decided that we will be choosing the CR over the GF from now on. It has a great atmosphere especially when you have a son that loves monorails like yours and mine does.

interesting to note that in the new Disney Rewards brochure the Concourse Steakhouse is not listed under restaurants in the CR.

That is because the hot rumor going around is later this year the Concourse Steakhouse is moving the where the Food & Fun Center use to be. They also plan on changing the name to the Waive & serve an Asian theme menu.

1) No because you would be in the South Garden Wing, so you would be away from the tearing down North Garden Wing & whatever they will be doing on the 1st & 4th floor, you would only see when you are in those area's.

2) As of right now the only thing being done is the tearing down of the North Garden Wing & turning the Fantasia store into the new arcade, however that will soon change.

3) Staying at a Monorail Resort, being able to walk to the Magic Kingdom, viewing Wishes every night, Chef Mickey's, Concourse Steakhouse (which will change when it moves to the 1st floor) California Grill & the B.V.G. store on the 4th floor.

Why are they tearing down the North Garden Wing. Could it be for DVC? :)

Well there has been a rumor for 2 years now that the Contemporary was getting a DVC building & since the North Garden Wing was not renovated like the South Garden Wing, that only makes for a much stronger reason that there will be a DVC building built where the North Garden Wing use to be.
