oh, almost forgot...it is called a virtual concierge but it is NOT just in concierge rooms..it is in all rooms that we have been in (wings & tower) they just want you to use it as a concierge service so they call it that.

Has anyone stayed in a Garden View Deluxe room? Other than a king size bed is there any difference than a regular garden view room?

Silly question, probably, but are there any *bad* MK View rooms in the tower? Or, anything specifically that I should request?

My family & I have stayed in a MK view room on the lowest floor which would be the 5th floor & as high as the 14th floor. In my opinion the views were both excellent & there was no difference to me.

I would like any info on the garden wing deluxe rooms too. When I called CRO, they told me there was a pull out sofa and table with 4 chairs instead of 2. The sq footage was more too, around 675 sqft if I remember right. But has anyone stayed in one of the deluxe rooms? Thanks for the help.

Hello everyone,

We have never stayed at the CR resort before but have stayed at a few of the other resorts. Usually we stay at the Poly; it is our favorite.

Anyway, we are coming in to stay at the CR for one evening before we leave on the Disney Cruise. Since our daughters love Chef Mickey's, we decided to stay at the CR and have dinner there before leaving the next morning for Port.

2 questions for the experts;)

1. Our reservations are @ 8:30 at Chef Mickey's. Will we be able to swim after dinner? How late will the CR pool be open?

2. Any other ideas on what to do that evening. We do not arrive until around 4pm from the airport.

Thanks so much
~Trish

The pool itself never closes, because I have seen people swimming there past 1:00 AM. The only hours you would see is for the lifeguards & they say if you choose to swim when they are not on duty, your taking a risk if something were to happen.

As for what else you can do. Explore as much of the Contemporary as you can, if it's still open when your stay there take your daughter to the arcade on the 1st floor & you can even walk to the Magic Kingdom entrance without going inside take the Monorail back.

  1. You could go to DTD for the afternoon before your dinner at CM. There is lots of fun stuff to do like the World of Disney Store, Once Upon a Toy, and grab some ice cream at Ghiradellis.
  2. You could take the boat over to WL or FW and walk around or ride the monorail and stop at the Poly and GF.
  3. Head over to the Boardwalk area and rent the bicycle buggy to drive around, get some ice cream at B&C at the BC, walk around the shops and restaurants.
  4. Go over to the AKL and see the animals from the back of the resort.

I called and got Tower Club for June 2008. What I really wanted was the Atrium Club - but no rooms on that floor were available to book. I was told that it may already be booked or it may be because they rates aren't available yet. I'm pretty sure it isn't the rate reason since I was given a disclaimer about the rate when I booked the Tower Club Since the 2008 rates have not been determined yet... Also, I'm finding it hard to believe that the entire Atrium Club floor is booked already for June 2008 since the window just opened up the end of last month/and this month (499 days out.)

Any thoughts?

Another suggestion for what to do is to just take the monorail for a loop around Seven Seas Lagoon. You could even get off and explore the Poly and the GF if you should so desire.

Swim, watch the Electrical Water Parade from the beach (or even from the quiet pool :) ), let your daughters play on the beach, shop on the concourse level, watch the fireworks at MK from the 4th floor viewing deck or go up and watch them from one of the fire escape landings, take a round trip spin on the monorail..preferably up front.

Those are some of our very favorite things to do. OH and do watch the sunset! :thumbsup2

:yay: I just booked the Atrium Club for the beginning of our September trip! They only had Atrium standard rooms left (no Tower MK views) and I couldn't get the pin applied to my dates. Oh well, DS will be thrilled and I'm not too far behind!

We're looking to take our next trip in July 07 at CR most likely in a Garden View Room. :wizard:
I have a few Questions....

1) Would the Construction affect our stay?

2) What Areas are being worked on/refurbished?

3) What are the Best Things about staying at CR

most of our trips to WDW have been at moderate resorts
Thanks!:cool1:

1) No because you would be in the South Garden Wing, so you would be away from the tearing down North Garden Wing & whatever they will be doing on the 1st & 4th floor, you would only see when you are in those area's.

2) As of right now the only thing being done is the tearing down of the North Garden Wing & turning the Fantasia store into the new arcade, however that will soon change.

3) Staying at a Monorail Resort, being able to walk to the Magic Kingdom, viewing Wishes every night, Chef Mickey's, Concourse Steakhouse (which will change when it moves to the 1st floor) California Grill & the B.V.G. store on the 4th floor.

Looks Like July at CR should be good for us
Thanks for your help!
Any chance the food court is getting moved or just the arcade?

We booked a June trip to the CR Garden Wing for 8 nights for my triplets b'day. Have a Sept trip booked in the Tower MK view. We will cancel one or the other, but I'm so excited to be going back to the CR~!

Is the Concourse Steakhouse going to be moved or is going going away for good? I love eating there. I sure will miss it.

triplefigs,
I thought you had a trip booked for YC. Have your plans changed or are you going another time? I love looking at your posts because we change our minds and reservations as much as you do. I just love so many of the resorts its hard to pick one and one category and stick with it.

The rumor going around is it will be moved to the location where they have the Food & Fun Center & they will be changing the restaurants name the Waive, which would be an Asian themed menu. I mean they can't call it the Concourse Steakhouse if it's not on the 4th floor Grand Canynon Concourse Level.
