Could someone please tell me what is on what floor?
1st floor Food & Fun center? checkin?
Chef Mickeys/Concourse Steakhouse/gift shop on 3rd floor?
Monorail on 4th?
First guest room on 5th?
Concierge on 12th & 14th (I assume no 13th?)
California Grill on 15th?
TIA!!!
Your welcome. Happy I can say what is where when it comes to the Contemporary.Foladar said:Thanks for the above info (and thanks OP for asking it) ... wrote that down so we know where we're going, I'm sorta surprised that my aunt booked it for three nights when we were agreeing on two nights in the tower since it was $400/nt with taxes.
CR Resort Fan 4 Life said:The 1st floor is the lobby where you check in & also is where the Food & Fun Center is.
Chef Mickey's, Concourse Steakhouse, stores are on the 4th floor.
The entrance to the Monorail is on the 4th floor.
Concierge rooms are on the 12th & 14th floors (12th floor is the Atrium Club, 14th floor is the Tower Club) & yes there is no 13th floor in the main building.
The California Grill is on the 15th floor & check in for your ADR is on the 2nd floor.

So are the 2nd & 3rd floor mostly meeting rooms?
If Concourse Steakhouse is on the 4th floor wouldn't the monorail be up a floor? Or is it sort of mid level? Is the coffee shop on the 4th floor too?
Are the first guest rooms on the 5th floor? Are the top non concierge rooms on the 11th floor?
I'm so thrilled to have gotten an annual pass discount for my last night (Sat). I'm somewhat hopeful to be able to get the other 2 nights but am happy to have the $80 discount on just Sat.
Thanks again for helping me understand the layout.
Do you have a favorite (or anyone else for that matter) tower MK view room? I'd guess 11th floor would be best view?CR Resort Fan 4 Life said:Your welcome. Happy I can say what is where when it comes to the Contemporary.
I think the view is all same when facing the MK. Obviously having a higher floor would be better, but I have stayed in the middle or at the end of hallway on the right side towards the MK or the other end side of the hallway that was farther away from the MK & to me the view seemed the same.Foladar said:Do you have a favorite (or anyone else for that matter) tower MK view room? Helps a lot! Its strange to be WDW veteran and yet know so little about where I'm going. I feel more relaxed having a better picture in my mind. Thanks so much!!! Maybe I'll see you there.CR Resort Fan 4 Life said:I hope that helps you understand the layout even better now.
I am not having that much luck myself, although I am 170 days out so I have time. I read about the problems on this board so I had a heads up. I tried contacting them a week before my 180 day window, it took two weeks to reply. I contacted my TA and she got involved, she called her District manager and I really don't know what came of it. But, amazingly I heard from the IPO office that day. They did not respond to my questions though. I did send a request for Cirque du Soliel, I did not know if they received it or not so I wrote back. I asked them to contact me ASAP because I needed to know if they got the request, I heard from them within 3 hours. Now, it has been 8 days and I don't know if the dates are not out yet for Cirque or what. I don't know if you e-mailed them back saying you need an answer right away would help or not. There has to be someone to contact for problems like this. Would the Manager of Contemporary help? I always travel concierge, and this is the first time I have had a hard time with communication. My response wasn't even signed, I did ask about this and they said they don't want to limit who helps me. Ok maybe that's resonable. I hope a Contemporary veteren here knows what to do, I would like to know why their is a problem with communication. Good luck.ksoehrlein said:Any advice on how to get a response from the Contemporary (& GF) IPO? They had been super-responsive to my e-mails in the past, and now, nothing. I left a voice mail yesterday to follow up on my 2 e-mailed questions from a few days before, but still no response.
I'm normally a do-it-yourself'er, but I was worried about the huge demand for ADRs and activity ressies over Christmas and so I opted to stay Concierge Level for the first time for this trip. I was happy with the IPO's original responses when I first reached out to them, then got a little frustrated when I had to contact them to confirm that they made my 180-days-out ADRs. Now that the 90-day booking window has opened, I'm getting stir-crazy that they still have not confirmed my sleigh ride for Christmas evening and the adjusted dinner ADR for later that night. Another DIS poster indicated that the sleigh rides are all sold out for Christmas Day, so now it's too late to take care of it myself if they indeed dropped the ball.
Other posters have indicated frustration with this IPO office as well. I had felt lucky to not have any problems, but now I'm in the same boat. What to do?

We didn't feel there was enough theming. Could have been in any hotel, any city USA. But the staff were all really nice and riding the monorail was a highlight. Anyway, back to my original point, when we arrived we pulled up and we were offered to valet park the car. Said sure, tipped the guy and din't think about it for the week. On our last morning, the easy checkout bill was on our doorknob and there was a daily fee of $7.00 for the valet parking. 7x7 is $49.00. I was astonished we were charged for this. Just wanted people to be aware.![]()
I am so glad you said that, I am getting frustrated by the minute. We really want to stay at the Contemporary, and I came really close to going to another resort. Does any one know what is going on with the IPO office? I think I am just going to make my own reservations, that will save me some peace of mind.triplefigs said:I know the IPO dept has had lots of problems lately, but the CMS here in the Atrium Club are fabulous!
I'm really glad to hear that. I know that they are different CMs, but it always bears repeating. I certainly won't take out my IPO frustration on them when we get there!triplefigs said:I know the IPO dept has had lots of problems lately, but the CMS here in the Atrium Club are fabulous!

I just got a laptop computer and I have reserved a Tower Magic Kingdom View Room for 10/28-11/1/06. Do those rooms have the "wireless internet" thingy or do you use a dial-up connection? Please forgive the simpleness of my question but I have absolutely no idea how to use a laptop and have only a few weeks to learn. My main objective is to be able to check my e-mail (AOL) and send e-mails.![]()
Thanks!![]()
