I'm sure you're having a wonderful time. Please let us know if you hear anything about the change between Concourse steakhouse and the food and fun center. I keep hearing 2007--- and we are going in March. My kids would be devestated if either was not available on their stay. Enjoy!!

Hi
Just back from our first stay at this awesome resort! We were disappointed to get one of the about to be closed North wing rooms, but it was on 3rd floor facing MK so waking to see SM and seeing Wishes from room were pluses! This was a weekend only trip so we may not have taken full advantage of all there was to offer. Loved using the monorail to Epcot and walkway to MK(in the am only) as we were too tired at night. Got to use the pool. DS loved the slide, while DD loved the fountains. We ate both breakfast and dinner at the Food and Fun Center and found the food to be very good. Huge pancake portions and food was very fresh. We also had a few frozen cokes :rolleyes1 DS and DH enjoyed some time in the arcade as DD and I hit the stores for shopping! Good thing I didn't have my credit card on me! :rotfl:
Mousekeeping was in our room bringing the bed rails for DD when we arrived in room! That's fast service :thumbsup2 No towel animals however! Hot water was in short supply and our neighbors(it was a connecting room) loved keeping the t.v. on too loud, too late, but that's our only gripe.
Love the Contemporary and we will definitely go back!

What days are you there in December? My family & I are there from the 16-25.

Pretty much the same dates. We leave California on December 17 with the first night at the POP and check in Dec 18th to the CR with check out December 25th :teeth: I can't wait, its what is keeping me from going insane during this last semester of college.

I asked IPO if they could tell me what room we will have in Dec (14th Floor) and they said they will be able to 10 days before. I have requested MK view I guess we just have to hope for the best.

I have been reading this thread for days now. DH and I arrive on Thursday for our 15th anniversary. We are just staying the weekend. No kiddies and they are not thrilled, I bribed them with souvineirs.

This is our first time at CR so I will give a report when we get back.

Last month when I was there, a Cast Member up on the Atrium Club said the Concourse Steakhouse & the Food & Fun Center, along with the arcade would be moving in 2007. He was not sure what month it would happen, but he said 100% it would happening in 2007. Also for some that maybe unaware of the news, the arcade will be moving into the Fantasia store & that means Bay View Gifts will become the main store for shopping at the Contemporary.
Thanks for the info! I'm going to keep a close eye on this. I'm scheduled to be there from Set 15-23 2007. I'm hoping they keep the current Concourse Steakhouse open until the new one is ready to roll. That is one of my favorite places to eat at WDW, and we were planning on using it as our fallback restaurant in case we aren't in the mood to travel elsewhere to eat.

I am checking in on Wednesday for a long weekend and MNSSHP :thumbsup2

Hope you have a great Anniversary!

Make sure to say hi to us when y'all arrive! We are loving the CR. It is just fabulous.

Thanks again for the live report! I can't believe how many characters your kids saw at Epcot! The pictures are soooo cute! I really hope you feel better - I know what it's like to be sick at WDW. Drink a lot of that Florida orange juice! :sunny:

What day is the chocolate monorail going to be delivered at the CR? I can't wait to see it so I can decide if I want to order one for our CR trip next month...

-Michelle

We will be in a garden wing in late November. Will the north wing be closed by then or is it a possibility that we will get a non-renovated room?

I wish we had the money to stay magic kingdom view! That would be awesome! Maybe oneday!!!!

I'd also like to see what the chocolate monorail looks like -- we'll be at the CR next week and might be interested in ordering one.

If I remember correctly by November the North Garden Wing will be closed, to make room for the Disney Vacation Club building. Last month a Cast Member on the Atrium Club floor at the Contemporary told me that on October 1st the North Garden Wing will be closing & would eventually be torn down. However he might have said they are making the announcemnet about it on October 1st, because that is the start for the Year Of Million Dreams Celebration. However the way I remember it he said they would be closing on October 1st. Besides this way you can guarantee yourself a renovated room in the South Wing & if I had to pick, I would take that over the old rooms in the North Garden Wing.

We were in the AK parade today and rode with Mickey Mouse! It was awesome. The 14th floor rooms do have computers and flat screen TVs. I am going to go up this week and take some more pictures. I added new pics to the CR Atrium Club album and view pics in Sept 26 album.

Oh, and we cancelled the chocolate monorail. A friend sent a huge gift basket and we have all the food from free dining and Concierge. I'll have to get it next time!

DW and I will be staying at CR for the first time late next month :hourglass . She'd really like to do the parasailing there. Any CR veterans with tips on this subject? Or any other CR subject? I do plan on some quality time with this thread during my next day off to build my knowledge. :surfweb:
TIA
:thumbsup2

...from your lips to DVC's ears...

this isn't a "done deal" yet but, we can hope!

word is they may wait for the member cruise later in the month...sort of to prolong the buzz.

when I made my original res. for mid-Oct. I did request a north GV room & called the desk to verify...no one spilled the beans.

will look for survey pegs in 2 weeks:banana:

I'm excited to have booked my first CR stay for Dec 14 to 17 in a bay view tower room.

Could someone please tell me what is on what floor?

1st floor Food & Fun center? checkin?

Chef Mickeys/Concourse Steakhouse/gift shop on 3rd floor?

Monorail on 4th?

First guest room on 5th?

Concierge on 12th & 14th (I assume no 13th?)

California Grill on 15th?

TIA!!!
