Howdy,

I just helped my parents book there CR room. They already stayed on the Tower/Atrium/Concierge Light floor, and have booked for Full Concierge this trip in December 2006. When we first asked, the CM said that only Atrium was available. So, I really don't know. It would be nice if they did do 2 floors for full concierge. I'm trying to decide between BC Concierge and CR Concierge for my Dec 07 trip. If anyone knows, please let us know.

So all I can answer is that, Atrium is still available til Dec 06.

Chris

Thanks, Chris. Look for a thread in this forum called "New Rooms at the Contemporary Are Open!" -- it has all the information I've seen. (I found it after I posted my question.)

Thanks JMB!!! That is a great thread. Appreciate your help! I guess we mis-understood the CM when they said the Atrium would be open during our time. That's great news! Again, thanks for showing me that thread!!!

So happy to have found this thread. We are considering our first ever monorail resort stay and this is the hotel we've always wanted to stay at. I know there are no guarantees but are there certain things to request or views that give you a better chance at a renovated room? We were planning on MK view in the tower. I'm sure I'll be visiting this thread a lot. TIA! :)

After staying at the Poly in Sept 2005 and just returning from the CR...I can honestly say, without any doubt, POLY!!!

Same experience - totally agree

Can you see the MK fireworks from the Contemporary's beach? I know you can see them from the California Grill and rooms in the tower that face MK, but I'm really interested if you can see them from the beach. I'll have young kids and I don't think I want to take them to the CG and the tower rooms are a little too expensive. ;)

I actually posted this question as a new thread, but then I thought I might have better luck here. :)

No, you can't see them from the beach (but you do get a great view of the EWP). You can go to the 4fl of the tower (where Chef Mickey's and the Concourse Steakhouse are located). On the opposite end of the floor from Chef Mickey's (past the shops), you will find the door that leads to the outside roof view (Ask any CM for help). The music is piped in, but unless you are at the rail, the view can be a bit obstructed by the other floors (get there a little early)... Hope you have fun!

Oh gosh, I finally convinced my group to try the Poly (they LOVE the CR tower). I hope they enjoy it!

Good Morning,

Can anyone tell me what's been updated at the Contemporary? What's open and what's closed??? Pool updates etc....

Thanks,

When we stayed at the CR in May 2004 we watched the fireworks from the bus stop benches in the CR parking lot. Our 5 year olds liked it from there because the noise wasn't too loud. We discovered it by accident when returning from the DS Studios one night. It became a family treat after that.

Bumping this up.... would like the latest on the rehab.

Just wonderng if anyone has any comments or review. Have these rooms been refurbished? Thank You.

Here is the link to the on-line version of the WDW Vacation Planning Video: click here. Once you’re on that webpage, click on the RESORTS button. The webpage will rearrange itself and some new buttons regarding the Resorts will appear. Put your mouse over the Disney Deluxe Resorts Overview entry and select “Disney’s Contemporary Resort.” A video window will open and the Contemporary Resort video will begin to play.

It’s a nice way to experience a little bit of Disney magic without leaving the comfort of your home. ;)

Any recent resort goers have any news about the rehab process going on in CR? What floors of the Tower are completed?

Not sure if this is the place for this question or not, but you all seem to be CR experts and a few of you have stayed there quite a few times.

We will be staying at CR from Sept. 30th - Oct. 7th. We are booked for a Garden wing water view room. (I thought all of the garden rooms cost the same. I didn't know they had different categories for the Garden wing rooms. It's so confusing to me, but I digress...... ;) )

Not that it's a guarantee, but which would you request.........south wing that will probably be finished with rehab but further away from MK and the food court,etc.............or.........the north wing, older looking room but close to the walkway to MK and food court and such?

Tell me your preferences please. Thank you. :sunny:

Please help. I have been trying for weeks and cannot get a garden wing room 12/6 - 12/9. No availability on line, nor when I call Disney directly. I found availability listed on BookIt. com....but they called today to tell me that room isn't available. I can upgrade to a tower for $1000 more....

Why is it so hard to find a room 10 months in advance for what is supposed to be a slow period for visitors?

Any suggestions for finding a garden room would be wonderful. I want to stay at a mono rail resort, but really can't afford more than $250/night.

I need pixie dust!
