When we stayed concierge at the GF at Christmas, the CMs notified the Concierge Dept we had checked in at Magical Express. The concierge team actually met us curbside at the ME bus and escorted us to the concierge check-in. Does the CR Concierge staff do the same procedure if we are using ME again?

That's a good question. I don't think they do that, but then again we have never taken Magical Express to see if that happens. Also maybe there were more CM's working on the Concierge floors of the Grand Floridian that are able to meet guests comming of Magical Express. I think the Contemporary has like a total of 4 CM's working everyday & maybe they feel it's best to stay up on the 12th floor looking after the guests who are already up there.

I wanted to know where that sculputure is of the mickey ears with Mickey sitting in the middle of them. I would love to take a picture there of our family.

Thanks!!

P.S. We are booked in the garden wing with a garden view but want a refurbished room as close to the main tower as possible. Any advice on room numbers or a location?

Momplanner22-

The sculpture is just to the left as you go out the back entrance towards Bay Lake. It has to be one of the most popular photo spots for families in all of WDW. We had a nice view of it, but never got a pic with family this time.

As for a room, by December all the available rooms in the hotel should be refurbished, assuming they close the North Wing as expected on October 1. So, I would request South Wing, as close to the Tower as possible.

We had reserved a Garden Wing Garden View also, but when we got there (early) our room wasn't ready...so we upgraded to the Tower room and got in a room right away. It was worth it!

Triplefigs,
We stayed at the Atrium club last December.....there were no CM's greeting us when we got off the ME bus! I hope you have better news to report when you get back!! Have a Magical trip!!! :wizard:

Thanks, CR and MrsBlovesDisney. I'll let you know if it has changed in 3 weeks. If they don't greet us at the bus, I presume we just let the bellman know that we're staying Atrium Club. I am so excited!

I just ordered the chocolate monorail for a surprise from Private Dining. They are delivering it on the day we arrive. I'll make sure to take lots of pictures of it before we dig in.

Just wanted to say that we just returned yesterday from our 1st stay @ CR and we LOVED it! We had a garden view room, I had requested a re-furbed room, 1st floor and that's what we got. We were in the South wing about 8 rooms from the entrance to the building so it was very convenient. (Our room was 5108 if anyone wants spcifics. It faced the pool/bay lake and it was nice to sit out an night when the kids went to bed and realx! The rooms were beautiful with cherry furniture and BIG bathrooms! We loved the pool area and being so close to everything.
Just had to jump on the "I LOVE THE CR" bandwagon!

Any ?, I would be happy to answer.

About how far were you from the monorail or the MK walking trail? How about the parking lot? Did you get any towel animals? What was your favorite area of the resort? Did you watch the fireworks from the CR, if so, how was that? :goodvibes THANKS for offering to answer the questions!! :)

If you don't mind me asking (and I have two sick little ones *summer colds are real bummers:(* so I don't really have the time to do a lot of digging on my own) how much was it, how long in advance did you need to order and is it something available in all rooms or only concierge? THANKS!! :thumbsup2

It's available to all CR guests. Call private dining at 407-824-2955. It was $50 plus delivery/tax. I think you can order it any time up to 48 hours before you need it. HTH and feel better!

We were less than 5 minutes to the start of the MK walking path (probably @3-4 minutes-just walk @50 ft from bldg, thru lobby and out fron to the trail.) We did not use a car so I cannot answer any parking lot ?s. We did not get any towel animals :guilty: I did'nt have a particualr favorite part of the resort but I would probably say the pool area, it is really nice and not crowded at all. We did not watch the fireworks from there this trip so I cannot commnet on how it is right now. We did see the Electrical Water Pagent. It goes by @10:05 every night on the bay and we could see it from our patio. It is kind of like Christmas lights on a boat but the music is cute and it is one of those cure little extras.
Sorry I couldnt help with all of your ?'s. If there is anything else you want to know, I will be glad to try to answer.

I remember last year at the GF I went to the business center and could use the computers to access my email, etc.

Does the CR has a simuliar place to do that?

We are not planning on bringing the laptop down.

Thanks!

Yes they do. They have a business center in the covention center. If you don't know where it is, just ask a Cast Member & they will tell you where to go.

A great big thanks for the info! Only 10 days until we check in!! :)

I forgot to mention that the cost to use the computer at the Contemporary business center is $10.00, after you have stayed on for at least 15 minutes. If you stay on longer I am not sure what the cost will be, but if you don't have cash on you, then you can pay by Resort ID & charge it to your room. Also if for some reason your on for less then 15 minutes, 99.9% they won't charge you for using the computer. That happened to me a couple of times, where I had went to pay & they said it's ok no charge. Lastly the same can be said if your on for 16 or 17 minutes as an example, because they might not care about going over by 1 or 2 minutes. Now this can also depend on who happens to be working there that day, so you will just have to wait & see what happens when you go there.

thanks for posting the pics, who's got more to share?

originally booked the GV for partial split trip in Oct, then AP rates came out & we were able to snag the 2 nights MK Tower view:teeth: .

Just checked and a 3rd night was available, booked it but have to make up my mind pronto & will have to cancel BCV for 1 night (also a great place to stay).

Sort of torn, especially since we might get burnt on the 1 night I'm cancelling @ BCV if we don't get back before next Sept.

Since we're going to MNSSHP on the 1st night, I think it'd be a big perc to be able to walk back afterwards.

Also think it's hard to soak up the ambiance anywhere if you're only staying 2 nights...

Anyone want to weigh in & help me make up my mind?
