Hello,

Have tower MK view in two weeks. Is the view better form the MK end of the hotel? Is it worth requesting? Are the lower floors bothered by any noise from Chef Mickeys or the monorail? Do all the rooms have refridgerators? Is it quicker to take the monorail to GF and then catch the bus to MGM, AK, or downtown disney? Is is best to call the CR directly for room requests?

Thanks

This may sound strange--I have a reservation for the atrium club the week of Halloween. But I have been periodically checking availability at the CR and other resorts in case I wanted to change room type or resort.

Well a few weeks ago, the availability at the CR went from many choices to none all of a sudden (although a 2br suite showed up for a while). This was according to the disney web site. The other monorail hotels seem to have plenty available.

Does this mean that it's likely blocked for a convention? Or could it be construction related? Is there any chance that we might be moved?

I know right around that time my TA called to tell me of the discounts for end of the year at the Contemporary. About a $500 savings for me. That could have something to do with it.

hi, we have booked for dec next year, we received our invoice today and under room type it says tower club, dh thought he had booked atrium club,is this the same, thanks for any help susie2

the end closer to the MK does get a little better view.

up to you.

the tower has white sounds that will mask the monrail and most other noises.

all the rooms have refrigerators.

disney changes the bus schedules - sometimes the Cont is on one bus with the Polyn and GF - but othertime it could be WL and Cont is the last stop - there is no way of telling. - you can ask over on the transportation board - there a few WDW bus drivers that might know before hand.

I am not an expert on The Contemporary, but I believe they are changing the tower to 14th floor concierge. If you are booked for 2007. I had to double check because I did want 14th floor and my reservation said Tower club. I read this off of Mousesavers. If you are going this December, I believe that the club still refers to the atrium.

Anyone know what views the wheelchair accessible 2 queens beds on the 14th floor have? Also, is the Concierge Lounge on the 14th floor as well????? :confused3

Atrium Club is the 12th floor & all their rooms are standard & the Tower Club is the 14th floor which happens to be their suite floor. There is a total of 16 rooms on the Tower Club, 11 off them are suites rooms & 5 of them are standard rooms. After that everything you get in terms of food is excatly the same on both floors.

I asked my TA to ask what the difference of the two floors was. She talked to someone from concierge and he said while the food offerings are indeed the same, their may be one or two more choices on the 14th. He also said the rooms were quieter and bigger. I have no idea, maybe if someone stays they can report on this. I will when I get back ( in March). The main reason I stuck with this is there are not as many people and I was hoping to get some of my diet concerns addressed. I can not have wheat. I stayed at Polynesian and ended up not eating anything. It was horrible. So, was hoping if there were fewer people on that floor they might be able to actually prepare some food that I could have, even if it's not what there serving. I am excited, but scared as well. I ended up watching everyone else eat last year and I couldn't have anything. Luckily they feed you alot at the restuarants. :)

This may or many not be the answer your looking for regarding diet concerns, so you tell me if it helps. In the morning for breakfast my Mom likes to eat a half a grapefruit. Well it's not offered as a breakfast item on the buffet, however every time we stay on the Atrium Club they always get it for her because they remember we always request it. So does that help or not? Also I am sure if you contact them before you leave, they can help you as best as they can.

I am hoping to actually talk to a Chef before I leave. So hopefully since the Chef's for the concierge are the same for Calfornia Grill, I will have some luck. I can have fruit and cheese and things, but mine would have to be kept separate. I know they can make wheat free desserts so I was hoping for that too. I just want to feel like they really do care. I felt like a burden last year. I will keep in mind requesting certain things. Hopefully, I will have luck here. When I was at Boardwalk they just sent me up plates of fruit and cheese. Every resort is different. I will be writing a little trip report on this one. I really can't wait to go, we have always wanted to go. I am glad I waited until the rooms were redone. Thanks for your suggestion! :)

Just thought I should mention this, just returned from a stay at the CR with a re-furbed rom in the South wing and the bathroom door is a sliding one so if you cannot hang any over-the-door things (like shoe organizer) over it. We had broght some 3M Command hooks so I just put one of those on the wall of the HUGE bathroom.
Just wanted to share!

I just ordered the chocolate monorail for a surprise from Private Dining. They are delivering it on the day we arrive. I'll make sure to take lots of pictures of it before we dig in.

Looking forwards to the pics!! :artist:

We need picture taking and chocolate eating icons. Especially the chocolate one. :teeth:

Thank you!!

Beth at the CR IPO office answered my question about this since we had to downgrade from Tower Club to Atrium club to get the free dining. She said in an e-mail: "The only difference between the atrium club and the Tower club are the floors they are on. The food offerings are identical. 12th floor guests are now free to visit the 14th floor lounge and vice versa."

I have not yet stayed there (only 48 hours to go!), but I can report to you when I get a chance. Also, if anybody wants some specific pictures, let me know and I'll be sure to get some while I am there.

That's awesome. I'll definitely go up and visit the 14th floor while we're there. That is very good PR. I'm sure they'd love me to take a look, love it, book it next time, and spend even more money!

Please do report on this, the other difference is the price. I am paying more for the 14th floor. I would like to know why, if everyone is free to visit any floor any way. Thanks Janet

Since when can you visit the 14th floor? Last month when we were on the 12th floor, the 14th floor was being renovated so we obviously could not see it then. Plus we were never told that in the future guests on the 12th floor can visit the 14th floor, so should I assume this decision was recently made & that the 14th floor has now re-opened or will be very soon?

Here is why guests of the 12th floor should be allowed to visit the 14th floor. It's because both floors are Concierge levels, so I don't see a problem with it. Guests on both floors are paying money for the same foods & etc (the only difference in the money is the 14th is more per night), so to me it makes sence to let Concierge guests on the 12th floor go to the 14th floor. It's not like they would be letting guests staying on a regular floor in the Tower come up & the same goes for guests in the South Garden Wings.
