thanks!

$395 per nite, before taxes!

And, in less than two weeks we'll be there!!!!

OK, talked to CR CL directly today and got the scoop on the 14th floor concierge rooms.

there are 5 rooms.
One of them is a handicapped access. room and faces the MK.

There are two concierge rooms with 2 queens...code CY.
One faces the MK, the other, which is directly across the hall, faces the baylake.

And, there are TWO more concierge rooms (code CW) that have KING beds and face the MK.

WE have the two "CY" rooms, one will be facing the MK, and the other, the lake.

hope this helps and I'll update the complete layout after I return.

Bambi - if it's not to much trouble, can you see if there are juice boxes in the lounge? My dd loves them. If they have them, it would be one less thing for me to drag along.
Thanks,

Bambi, is that for the 12th floor?
isn't 395 before tax the rack rate for a 12th floor room during Value season?

Yes, that price is for the rack rate 12th floor, but I was able to score 2 ROOMS on the 14th floor with AP DISCOUNT!:earseek:
Thus, the cost is $395 plus taxes....approx. $440 with taxes!

Believe me, I couldn't believe my luck! I've even called the CR CL directly to confirm and sure enough, we'll be staying on the 14th floor in 2 code CY rooms, 2 queens in each, one facing the MK, the other facing BayLake.

I highly recommend the tower, it just really adds to the excitement of being at this resort. We stayed at the north wing which was great but I could a little glimmer of disappointment in my kids eye...next time...lol.

Sorry I have to ask, but now I'm really confused.

So with the AP rate you got a rate of $395 per room? So it's only about an 18% discount from rack rate. Right?

I'm just trying to plan for our trip next year. I would love to stay on the 14th floor, just don't know if I'll have the funds.

Hello fellow Contemporary Resorters,

We're going to the CR for the first time in October...have a AAA rate reservation in a standard garden wing room for 5 nights. I'm waiting for resort discount codes to come out for October to see if we can get a better rate. My questions are this: If it turns out that we can get a tower room with a discount code, for a price comparable to what we're paying now for a standard garden wing room, should be upgrade to the tower, or make a new reservation for a standard room and save the cash?

Here's our criteria: We have 5 people, so we need the two double beds plus the day bed. We have a 5 year old and a senior citizen, so I'd like to minimize walking to the monorail, and to the pools (if possible). Finally, of course we'd like a nice view, but I've heard you can get a view of MK and the fireworks from some of the garden rooms, is that true? Or is the tower the place to be?

Thanks in advance for any input pirate:

Yes, it is. Its $85 off which is how much deluxe discounts are. With the new AZZ code I was offer this but I couldn't justify the extra $145 for the 14th floor. We also staying at Poly the same trip and we're staying concierge there instead. So I'll settle for my tower facing MK room. LOL

We are a family of 5 and always stay in the tower. It's MUCH closer to the monorail than most of the garden rooms - the monorail stop is in the tower so you just take the elevator to the proper floor then it's a short escalator ride up to the platform. You always get a great view from the tower, either of MK or of Bay Lake - whereas some of the garden rooms don't have much of a view. The pool is also just outside the tower - some of the garden rooms may be closer but not by much. IMHO, you'll be happier in the tower.

Yes, is does come out to that! But, any discount is better than no discount!
Like I said earlier, I was thrilled to even GET on the 14th floor, much less get a discount!::yes::

MK Tower is the only was to go IMHO....remember to request for an odd-numbered room as the beds face the castle!princess:

I'll be posting a TON of pics and concierge reviews when I return!

I totally agree! Any discount is better than none!

During our next trip, we will definately only stay in the Tower (hopefully the 14th floor).

I am looking forward to your pics!

We tried to get ressies at the CR tower, with the AAA discount and was told that their are no more rooms with that discount. I was very sad.

Do you think that if the AAA codes are all used up that they will come out with a better discount,

Wow. There is so much information here. I don't think I will ever get through it all.

I just booked CR Tower Club Room for October using a code I received in an E-mail.

I do have a few questions for you experts.

(1) Are refrigerators included?

(2) When can I expect the concierge staff to contact me? I'm already within 90 days. Should I contact them first or would this be too pushy?

(3) When I stayed at the Poly Concierge there were jog strollers available for guests to use. I didn't have to rent one in the parks. Is that available at CR?

(4) It's my understanding that this is a limited version of Concierge. Are sodas/water. etc. available at all in the evenings?

You should contact the concierge staff yourself. I did not hear from them so I called them when I was around the 100 day mark. They were able to book my PS's so I got exactly what I wanted. I don't have the number with me, it's at work. I'll look for it on Monday.

When you call them, you can ask these other questions. I'm not sure of the answers. I am pretty sure the "service" ends at 4pm, so no evening snacks or drinks.

Have a great trip!

I was looking at one of the guidebooks I have, and I stated that the two different garden wing buildings, one is smoking and one is non-smoking. DD is asthmatic and I would prefer the building without any smoking rooms. Can this request be accomodated by Disney if we choose a garden wing instead of the tower? Last time during our WDW trip the resort where we stayed, would not accomodate our similar request. Just wondering if the luxury hotels would be more accomodating.
