no problem :thumbsup2 It looks like they are just painting the entrance area to the pool. That night I saw them working, they moved the walls to the other door (the one I used that night). The sde they had been working on has all fresh paint.

One last note before we head to AK, the birds live! There are lots of crows in the trees by the pool, and they are loud. There's also all the ducks I've heard about. The ducks don't bother me, but the crows are a bit creepy :rolleyes1 Even with all the ducks, the pool water and deck are very clean.
I noticed the birds a few times when I was looking at the Magic Kingdom. At one point there were so many of them flying around my room, that it was not safe to step outside on the balcony.

My parents and I also the ducks at the pool, so I guess since our stay there last month the lifeguards don't seem to be making any attempts to getting rid of them.

Agree with both things you just said. We were there 3 weeks ago and there were sooo many of the black birds that it was unsafe, and oh the poo!
And, the ducks can be a problem--esp their droppings. At times the area was fairly clean and at times it was very dirty.

The telephone number for the resort go to a call center now, and it is next to impossible to get pass them ~ although if you call they can now add the request to your reservation.

I would call CRO to add the request :) Would not worry though because the tower rooms are incredible on any floor!! :)

Hope your room is just what you wish for! :)
I called the CRO today and requested the highest room available!
It's only 32 days away so I am not sure if it matters and as you say any tower room is incredible! I just can't wait! Thanks everyone for your input.
thanks a bunch Christine!

I am calling tomorrow to make our room requests. Does anyone remember if it is the odd rooms or the even rooms that have the beds facing the MK? Also which end is closest to the park? I am not worried about how high we stay but I would like to be on the end that is closest to the park and would love to have our bed face that way. Thanks.

Well, we were in 4444 and our beds did not face the MK, so I would guess they are the odd numbered rooms then.

Also, the North end is what is closest to the park.
HTH:)

We just booked a spur of the moment trip for Oct 13-15th. Just DH and I and we are booked in the Tower MK view. Now does that mean that we will definately be able to see the MK from our room?

Yes, it is guaranteed. You'll LOVE it! Have a great time!

Thank You :goodvibes . By the way your triplets are adorable in their Alabama outfits. I am a Auburn fan but my husband is a Alabama fan. All three of my boys came home from the hospital with onsies that said Daddy's Q-t back on them. Football is a big deal in our house.
Thanks! It is here too (could you tell)? ;) I hope y'all have a great trip. My brother went to Auburn, so I feel your family's pain!

last september we stayed in room 4735 on the 11th floor, with the bed facing the MK - it was magical!!!!

Is it faster to go by bus to AK or MGM or DTD or by monorail to TTC and then bus to those places?
Of course from CR.
Thank you. 17 days and counting!!!!

I appologize if this is a redundant question but what is the laundry situation at the CR right now? I thought there were laundry facilities but for some reason I am thinking that I read that they were not opperational at this time. Can anyone confirm this? I am trying to figure out how much clothes I will need to pack. Thanks!!

We just got back, we never did laundry, but I did notice other guests in the laundry room doing laundry when we walked by

My parents and I have never had any problems taking the buses to MGM and AK, however when going to DTD we refuse to take it. Instead we take our own car since we always manage to have one while in WDW.

The laundry room is located on the 2nd floor of the South Garden Wing building.

If you're in a hurry to get someplace and want to avoid the wait times and all the stops the busses make, you might want to consider a taxi. There's almost always one or two waiting near the main entrance of the CR as well as the other resorts, parks, water parks, & DTD and they only cost a few dollars. They'll get you to your on-property destination in less than 15 minutes whereas a bus might take you up to an hour (or more when crowds are heavy). This is especially handy when you're trying to make a dining reservation.

Yep, I'll take a picture but won't be able to post it until about two weeks. We left our camera cables at home. There's two ports. One is being used by the keyboard, the other is free. I can't test uploading anything to the computer, but we were able to charge our I-pod using it.

Thanks! The I-Pod info is helpful too!

Our family just got back from staying at the Contemporary for the first time. Thanks to everyone on here for sharing great information. After saying for the umpteenth time, "I read about that" to my husband, he finally said, "where!?" Of course, it was on these boards, where I have been a frequent lurker.

BTW, we stayed in the Garden Wing and loved it! We thought it had a great view and was a perfect location for our family (our boys are 5, 4, and 2). You cannot beat walking to the MK!!
