Are your girls young enough not to mention one of them? I know some DISers will be upset at the suggestion, but if one is young enough (they must be small to sleep together in a queen) then it is not like Disney resort where you often have Key to the World. At Swan, with 2 queens, your tkts would be separate :)

The youngest will be 7. They are all small enough for one queen.

Don't forget CR also has the daybed that turns into a twin size bed. Our 2 dd's actually fought over who was going to "GET" to sleep on the daybed. little kids are so funny!! Good luck whatever you decide!

That's funny, we have never used them.

None of mine want anything to do with it.:confused3

That's funny that you can't find a std. view room because we're staying in a std. view starting next Wed (:yay: ). I've been monitoring room availability at the CR to see how crowded it is and get a feel for what the opportunity might be to upgrade. And the only type of room available during our stay is - std. view garden wing! I don't even think there are that many of them.

So now I'm a bit worried that nobody is booking them. Do they know something that I don't?

It always comes up with garden wing-garden view, which is a little bit more per night than standard.

I'm trying to finalize plans for an upcoming trip in September. We are currently booked for 7 nights at the GF and now need to extend our stay by 1 day. With no availability at the GF, I was looking into the Contemporary. I was wondering if anyone had any info and or pics of a Garden wing - deluxe room.

Just some info for you. I don't have pics, as we will be staying in a deluxe garden room in Sept. :goodvibes The room is in the bend of the south wing (one on each floor). That make the shape slightly like a L. The bath is right when you come in across from a small walk-in closet. There is a sofa that pulls out to a queen sleeper and a table with 4 chairs. One King bed is around the corner of the L. The best part about the room is that it has 630 square feet:cool1: and two walls with windows because of the bend in the building. I am super excited for this room. Good luck with your decision, Marriedmyprince
Just a warning some pics of the 1 bedroom suites are listed as deluxe rooms. That is not the case, deluxe room have NO interior door walling off any part of the room. (except the bathroom :rolleyes1 )

Some questions, please.

I am inquiring about end of May 2008.

What type of renovations will be going on at that time?

Is it impossible to get a standard view wing room anymore? Whenever i put in dates it only come up with a garden view?

Thanks,

Hi Poly Addict
I have also tries to get a standard room without any luck for 2008.
It doesn't seem to matter what dates I put in it always comes up with Garden view. I think that they must either not release them or leave them for the conventions etc. BUT if you put in dates for 2007 there is availability, I think they have changed it for 2008. However I am certainly no expert, this is just my observation.
Someone here may have some more information

WHAT!!! No frozen coke?:scared1: That's it, vacation cancelled;)

Seriously, I am sorry to hear this. We have loved having that in the past. For us, it made buying the refillable mugs worthwhile.

I guess since we aren't going until Sept. 9 it wouldn't have mattered anyhow. Bummer.

Thanks for all the info CR.
Well what you could do is go over to the Polynesian or Grand Floridian, purchase the YOAMD mugs and then go over to Pop Century if you really wanted Frozen Coke, since they are now the only Resort that sells them and I assume they still do.

According to the renovation schedule, in May 2008 the only thing going on inside when it comes to renovations is the building of the new counter service location on the 4th floor, which would replace the Concourse Steakhouse.

Besides that there will be the renovation of the future Disney Vacation Club building where the North Garden Wing use to be, however that has 100% no effect on any of the guests staying in the Tower and South Garden Wing.

I would love an answer to this also. I had a thread going entitled "but why are the rooms gone?" I started in July looking for end of 2008 and could not get any availability, I thought I was starting so early. :sad2: The CMs also seemed suprised, but most replied that it must be on hold for a convention. I wish we could know when the rooms may open up. We are very interested in these for :santa: I have us booked @ POR for now (family of 5) because I didn't want to be left with only $$$$$ rooms to choose from. The only answer I know of is to keep calling periodically and checking.
Any other ideas?

I just wanted to let everyone know that we got back from the CR last night!
We had the most amazing trip and I didn't want to leave.

I'll be back with some pictures and to answer any questions later!

I am just wondering how much of the new store on the 4th floor has been completed? When my family and I had checked out the walls were up on each of the sides, so just curious if anything else been done to it?

We stayed at the Atrium club and had a wonderful time!
We requested a Magic Kingdom View and our wish was granted!
Here are some pictures from our room 4847.

OMG 4847 was where my family and I stayed earlier this month. I know all the rooms look the same, but it's weird seeing pictures of a room that we just stayed in.

We are staying in the tower but not the Atrium, how much different are the lower floor rooms, looks and size? I love they way they look :)

My family and I have had a Magic Kingdom as low as the 6th floor and as high as the 14th floor. Personally I don't see a difference between them, because in the end it's the exact same view no matter the floor you're staying on.

I tried searching the thread but couldn't come up with anything. I am considering the contemporary for next time because of it's WONDERFUL location. How long is the walk to Magic Kingdom? I know we can do monorail, but I know sometimes the waits for those are long, especially after fireworks. Also, how long does it take to get to Epcot, assuming it isn't really busy? I don't really want to take our car, but would love to be able to get to a few of the parks from our hotel in 15 minutes or so. Is this possible? That way, for afternoon breaks we aren't losing a lot of time traveling. Thanks!

A major reason people stay @ CR is to have monorail access. That is the quickest way to EpCot. Door to door service! Not sure about the times to MGM or AK in a car, but the bus is about 1/2 hour average. You can walk to MK or ride the loop past Poly & GF.
Check out the transportation wizard on OurLaughingPlace.

I would say the walk to the Magic Kingdom is about 7-10 minutes. When going to Epcot the 1st Monorail you take is to the TTC which is the next stop, however if the Epcot Monorail is not there when you arrive then I guess it could be about a 5 - 7 minute wait.

Question for anyone who has used the computers at the CR lately... Does the internet access only access a local site or can you access all of the www, ect.? Can you use hotmail, yahoo mail and other web based mail sites or do they block sites? Do they have any programs loaded onto them or just the internet access? i.e word or excel? Thanks, Marriedmyprince

You can use hotmail, yahoomail and other web based mail sites. They do block sites that use large bandwidth or that may be inappropriate. I don't believe they have other programs loaded onto the computers.
