WoW! I booked CR Garden Wing Room a couple months ago on a whim as felt the rates were a steal. I looked today, and the rates for same room are up 200$!!!! Initially it was a "tentative" trip, based on vaccine progress and state of the world. But it's looking more and more promising and I'm allowing myself to get a little excited :)

Question for the group :-) ...

... Can you recommend any place to get work done at CR?

We had to rearrange our trip (added a day!) and my husband and I both have to work our first day there. I'm hoping that one of us can be out of the room for a few hours and I will also need to take a few meetings. Is there a quiet and secluded place that I could work/take zoom meetings where I won't bother anyone (and they won't bother me)? Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

That’s always a tough one. There are plenty of spots, but not a lot of quiet spots if you need it totally quiet.

I’ve taken calls on the second floor of the tower - there are various couches in that area outside the Cali Grill check-in area. As long as a conference isn’t going on, you can often have that whole floor/area to yourself and find a spot that works.

The marina area is ok and there are plenty of places to sit around there, but they often have the background music way too loud to get away with a phone call.

Good luck!

Thank you! I'll definitely check out the Cali Grill area.

Yeah unless there’s a convention, I bet you’ll be okay over there. I don’t think you’ll find many vacationers in that area!

Are the lines for the busses to EPCOT long?
Just returned today from a four-day stay at BLT. The only way to get to EPCOT is by bus. The bus system seems to be strained at CR. We waited nearly 45 minutes for a bus to Disney Springs one night. The next night it was much better, and they had two buses back to back going to DS.

The bus line to EPCOT was quite long but the line moved fast.

Is there a reason why there are no monorails to Epcot?
Originally it was for required Monorail Beam repairs on the Epcot loop and now it is still down.

The discussion has been that it is likely the long time in the confined space of the individual Monorail cars for the trip and the limited ventilation vs the buses. And also the reduced traffic due to limited Park Hopping and the need for frequent cleaning cycles an staffing.

When I asked earlier this week, I received inconsistent answers from the staff on the monorail. Some said, they didn't have enough staff to handle both loops. Others said repairs. I think the lack of traffic from the main loop (resorts, MK, TTC) to Epcot is greatly reduced is the real culprit.

Super excited we are staying at BLT in a studio with theme park view in April. It will be my birthday trip and first mom/daughter trip. My DD has been to BLT twice already but never stayed theme park view (she will be 20 months on this trip). I’m excited to sit on the balcony with her and look at the castle and watch the monorails for by. She loves watching the monorail.

We are thinking of booking blt theme park view in October. Can you see the park well from those rooms? Any certain area of blt we should suggest we want to get the best view?

Sorry if this was asked before, but I am trying to change to a split stay for Thanksgiving. My TA quoted me Contemporary for 11/24-11/27 but when she went to book it was not available. Do we honestly think the entire resort is sold out already? I'm guessing she goofed and that's ok, but I was really disappointed. We chose WL for now but would like to switch.

Did I miss any news about them reducing capacity? Does it have to do with the refurb to the tower?

TIA!

Have fun! I’ve been having my eyes on a studio lake view for later this year

Can you tell your TA to switch if CR becomes available? If not, I would check the WDW website periodically and check for availability. If you see CR availability call your TA and get it changed.

We are both checking. My question is if we really think it's sold out or if they are holding back rooms.

Hmm, good question. Back when the news broke website availability showed Tower TPV rooms not being available starting in April, Tower Lake View in May... but then both had what I would have pegged as pretty good availability again starting in late Sept. This was several weeks ago when a bunch of us were poking around dates/trying to see what it told us about a possible schedule.

I just looked at your dates and others in Oct-Nov and it’s rather slim pickings. Nothing for your dates shows up, Tower rooms sporadically pop up for other dates. Definitely not the abundant availability that has often been the case so far since reopening.

I am going to GUESS (key word) that it could in fact be mostly demand driven. Anecdotally just from my random resort searches lately, it does seem to me like pent-up WDW demand is in fact real. Throw in newly refurbished CR rooms, the 50th (and MK being a focal point in that), holiday weeks like the dates you’re booking, I would venture to guess that the demand is in fact there.

There of course could be some lingering construction planned and rooms being held offline too, hard to say.

Hope it works out for you.
