And these were from inside the room:

I took this picture early, early one morning when I woke up after hearing a noise outside. I looked out the window and saw the ferry going by.

Hi - This will be the first time we are staying here. Are there any rooms with bad views or that we should try and avoid? I read somewhere that some MK views are actually a view of the convention center. Any guidance would be great!:)

Popping by and looking at BLT pics, even though my DH told me not to change our reservation. I am hopeless :lmao:

LOL :rotfl: Me, too.
I haven't changed my CR reservation (nor do I want to!), but I did add a night at AKL yesterday :cool1:
I'm happiest when I'm making room reservations

Was going through lots of pics yesterday and found these of BLT construction :wizard: These seem to have been taken in the summer of 2008 (but I'm not 100% sure).

:cheer2: YAY for an extra night!! DH said "You just need to change something" Okay maybe.....I know a split can be a pain, but we have DIS friends at WL/CR so it would be great to have the resort to all hang together...choosing between BLY and VGF is rough  Although if I ACTUALLY listen to DH I will stay put at OKW:lmao:

You have a reputation to live up to.
You MUST change princess:

Bay Lake? If you have friends at CR and WL, then that is where you should be :smokin:

Okay all you CR Veterans! Let me hear your thoughts.

I have been researching and researching for the best time to go to Disney. All of my resources have pointed to the week that we are going for low crowds, great weather, etc. 1st week of December. We are staying in the Garden Wing Garden View.

I know I have posted before and said that both CR and BLT are completely filled (besides the expensive hospitality suite). Now, even THAT is booked up.

I did some research for a possible October trip this year, and there were still Tower Rooms available (Both BL and MK views).

So my question is, will the resort be in fact THAT busy in the very first week of December? I thought most kids go back to school after the Thanksgiving Holidays! I am worried about lines for QS meals, monorail lines, packed Fanstasia Market, lines at the pool bar, etc... We love Disney at Christmas, but should I possibly switch to October?

Thoughts?

In 2012 we were at WDW (but staying @POFQ) from about Dec 5-8ish (Thurs-Sun) and I didn't feel that the parks were terribly busy at all. From prior stays @ the CR, wondering if there could be a convention that week??

The first week of December is one of the most popular DVC times of the year, which explains why BLT is full (few rooms dedicated to cash reservations and few owners trading points out).

I agree that the rest of the resort is likely full due to a conference.

In their new book, The Easy Guide to Your First WDW Visit, authors Josh (easywdw) and Dave recommend, among other dates,

"... the two weeks beginning the Sunday after Thanksgiving"

as recommended weeks to visit WDW.

Based on that, I'd feel very good about going the first week of December this year.

October would be great too. They recommend "the last two weeks of October".

Keep checking for room availability. It is always changing :thumbsup2
