What is the best way to request a 1 bedroom with the best chance of viewing the fireworks? I thought it was the even rooms/north wing? Thanks!

Have a wonderful time, and please let us know if you find any CR or BLT merchandise. Our favorite souvenir is something branded to our resort and we haven't been able to buy something like that for years![/QUOTE
When we were there a couple of weeks ago the only thing I ever saw with the CR on it was a pin):
I could have missed something, but I don't think they sell any resort specific merchandise. I love my BC shirt I got last year, and when we went over to WL they had lots of resort stuff. The only thing close to it that I saw was a section of DVC items.

SUCH a bummer! I don't understand why they added back so many of the other deluxes, but not CR? Especially because it's one of the originals!

Hi everyone!
I've searched this thread and haven't seen the answer to my question, so I'm going to ask any of you who have visited the Tower Club or the Atrium Club levels at CR my question: here goes!
Is there a dedicated elevator JUST for the Club Level floors? As in "Express to the Club Level with No Other Stops!" Or do you use the regular elevator but are only able to gain access to Club Level by using the magic band?
Thanks!:yay:

i'm about 99% sure its the bolded part, unless there are some secret elevators i'm not aware of...

From my recollection, you have to put your room key (gold card) into the regular elevator to be able to access the club level floors. (At least that's what we did in 2008.) I do not, however, know if/how this has changed since the implementation of Magic Bands.

Not a dedicated elevator (at least not for non-VIPs ;))
but take a look at this site for a pic. You'll just touch your MB to the Mickey icon and then push your floor number :thumbsup2

Do all/most of the rooms at the contemporary have the adjoining doors to the next room? We're traveling with my Mom and we would like to have the adjoining rooms, so we could keep the door open at times.

We did this when we traveled with my parents a few years ago at the Poly and I'm hoping the contemporary will have the same set up.

I wouldn't say most, but there are quite a few.

And as an FYI, if you want an interior door connecting the 2 rooms together you will want to request connecting rooms, not adjoining. In Disney/hotel speak adjoining means close to, connecting means having the interior door connecting the 2 rooms. I just want you to have a better chance on getting what you want.:thumbsup2

Oh, THANK YOU for making that clarification!! I appreciate the info, too!!

Not sure I missed this, but with the reduced monorail hours this summer, what is the best way to get to Epcot in time for rope drop? If the monorail for Epcot is not starting until 9 a.m., we will have to get there by alternate means to hit Soarin' at park opening because we used our first tier Fastpass Plus option for Test Track.

I think bus from CR to Epcot would be best.

Hi fellow CR fans!!!:dance3: We are going back to me and DD's favorite place......CR. My family of four will be there Dec. 19-26. Yes, Christmas. :crowded:pixiedust::banana::woohoo::santa: We have always gone in the summer and are looking forward to cooler weather. We are staying in the main tower, bay lake view. Just made my ADRs yesterday. Getting very excited!!!!:dancer:party:

This September we are staying in a Garden Wing/Garden View room. When will we find our our exact room....at check in?

I would love to see the interior and exterior of these rooms, if anyone has some pictures!

Also...are their better rooms than others? Is there anything special that we should request!

All advice is appreciated!

Hey folks, quick question.

Have the room locations/classifications changed at all since the 2009 post mapping out room types/locations.

There is a recent tour of BLT Standard view studio, and its an internal, center building studio on like the 9th floor. Which is classified on the map from the link as a lake view (which is what it looks like) but the woman on the video calls it a Standard View Studio ... I am guessing she was upgraded and just doesn't realize it ... but I was wondering if they have changed the configuration and classification of rooms at all since 2009 ...

Many thanks all !!

I can't help w/ what to request, although WDWKOOK has packed this FAQ w/ amazing info. Specifically, take a look at Posts #5 and #6 of this thread.

Here is a link to some photos of the CR rooms from last summer, when they were being redone http://www.easywdw.com/uncategorize...bished-contemporary-rooms-lunch-at-kona-cafe/ Scroll about halfway down. The rooms pictured in the Garden Wing are not the std rooms - they are a Deluxe room and a suite - but they still give you a feel for the Wing, and the standard rooms look just like the standard rooms in the tower that he includes :thumbsup2

Actually, now that I look at those photos, I would definitely request a ground floor room for the patio! The other floors do not have balconies. Just windows w/ railings.

Is that official or rumor?
Honestly that would make me mad, we switched resorts to get away from pool construction at a significant cost. Crowding the pool with people who didn't want to pay more to switch is a bit frustrating. We shortened our trip by 4 days to afford it.

I was reading the WL thread about the pool closure last night. Alot of the guest are VERY unhappy about booking WL and having the pool closed, as well as they did not want to travel to another resort to use the pool.

My honest opinion, I think that even though the offer is there to use the CR pool, alot of the folks will not want to pack up their kids and go to another resort for a pool. I think everyone should be fine! :)

Happy Vacation! :yay:

I am one such person. We had WL booked for 9 nights in October, and while it is our favorite resort, we decided that we did not want to look at construction walls around the beautiful pool courtyard area for our honeymoon. I'm one of the few that was lucky enough to find an alternative resort on short notice, and will be a stones-throw away at BLT.

While not only an inconvenience to guests staying at WL/VWL, I also think it will be a bit of a drag for CR/FW guests, as they now have to share pool space with guests from WL/VWL. While I can't imagine this causing the pools to become "elbow-to-elbow", I do suspect that CR/FW guests will notice an increase in pool related activity. This also means bigger lines at the pool bar, quick service locations, and so on and so forth. Again, not the end of the world, but not ideal, either.

These pictures are from Sept. 2008. We had a garden wing, garden view room. I loved it. These were the view from our room.
