Thank you so much, WDWKOOK. I love that peaceful view :cloud9:. Do you recommend higher floor vs. lower?

I have been enjoying your photos and info most of the day, LOL. Your FAQs really are incredible. Your organizational skills are superhuman! :worship:
Thank you so much for your sweet comment, I really appreciate it and I'm pleased that you find my threads organized enough to find the information you need to help plan your trip. But, feel free to post any questions you might have.

I'm with Aaron and would actually make a request for a high floor.

I concur with WDWKOOK. The Bay Lake view is the BEST! In fact, on our last trip we turned down an "upgrade" to a Magic Kingdom view because we love this view so much. (I put "upgrade" in quotes, because we certainly didn't feel like it was an upgrade for us.) As far as higher vs. lower floor, we prefer the higher floor because we feel like it gets us a little farther away from the hustle and bustle of the 4th floor (shops, Chef Mickey, etc.) and the monorail. I don't know how much difference it really makes in terms of noise, but psychologically it makes us feel like it is more peaceful.

This year we're trying BLT for the first time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'm not going to regret it after four wonderful trips in the Contemporary tower with a Bay Lake view.
I love that you turned down the TPV:thumbsup2. We would have done the same thing. We just don't like looking down at the parking lot.

We loved BLT and have stayed in a one bedroom with a LV. I highly recommend the LV. We faced toward the marina and CR in an outer villa and the monorail was off to the right - it was perfect. What view did you book?

In just six more days that is the same view I will be enjoying. :cool1::dance3::cheer2:
That is so soon! We would love to read about your niece's first impression of CR and WDW. That will be such a memorable trip AND you're staying CL, too! Will you be posting any CL lounge photos - hint, hint...

The odd/even does not work for BLT. There, the odd number rooms are the inside of the ring, and the even number are the outside. So if you have MK view booked, you will have an even number for sure.

Yes for the two bedroom you'll have a stacked washer/dryer on the 1-bedroom side, so it doesn't matter if it's a dedicated or lock-off. I haven't checked in a while, but you might be able to get those Purell laundry sheets on Amazon!

Enjoy your trip!

Thanks so much! I actually looked on Amazon after being reminded of the laundry sheets yesterday and they DO have them :) :)

Also, KOOK - THANK YOU for those pictures today. I had a terrible day at school, and that gave me the moment of zen I needed :) :)

Is the music for Wishes piped into the balconies in the TPV rooms? Three days until our first CR stay!!

We are staying at BLT from 9/29/2014-10/7/2014. Cannot wait!!

Hi contempo lovers!

Im planning a trip for christmas and have booked the wilderness lodge. HOWEVER ive now been given a choice of staying at the contemporary. IM big on themeing AND nice rooms. I usually stay polynesian, but currently am in love with the grand.

Can you guys get me excited for the contemporary?!

The pool and theme looks so blahhh. But the rooms look nice and love the monorail. HELP and show me the disney magic of this hotel.

After six years here on the DIS, I may have to finally do a TR. As for pictures, I certainly will take some and post them here for you. ;)

You're welcome and thanks again :flower3:
I will definitely still ask questions and will be hanging around here a LOT :yay:

So exciting! :woohoo: BLT is gorgeous.

I'm big on theming and nice rooms, too. And I've stayed at all of the resorts you've mentioned and I promise you that there is tons to love about the CR.
We chose CR over every other resort for our next trip b/c of its location, room decor and room size, festive atmosphere (monorail/great shopping/retro Disney feel/etc.)

When you check in, I think you'll start falling for the place :thumbsup2 It's got a great theme and looks better than ever.

Walking to the MK is something you cannot do from any other resort (other than BLT, of course) and for us, will save us time and frustration during the busy summer months. In December, the walk will be even nicer, since it won't be 95 degrees outside ;)

I think the "Bullseye" pool looks very attractive. I've actually not been in it before but we will spend plenty of time there this trip and I can't wait.
I love that it's right on Bay Lake :cutie:

I know what it's like to worry about a new resort but I've liked all the Disney Deluxes. I used to stay only at the GF and was afraid to try the Poly. Imagine that :p People love these resorts for a reason, so I say give them a try. My guess is you'll love it!
We only had one night there last summer (wanted to try CL, TPV) but just in that short time we got an awesome taste of what it's like to stay at the iconic Contemporary Resort :wizard:

Oh, just grabbing a cupcake in the Concourse... :rolleyes1

Elegant bathrooms (admittedly, not enough counter space )

Just walking to the car... (see something there in the distance?)

Good luck!

Johnsonet said pretty much what I would have. :thumbsup2

The theming is just so different from poly and gf that it just is fun to try them all.:)

Like a kid I will run out the door and look over the railing at the concourse then back through room and out the balcony to see my view off the balcony! My kids thought I was crazy but it is fun to have both views:dance3:

I do like the different bathroom set up. It's nice that the commode is in its own room;)

If you like to do "The triple MTN Wammy" at MK then by having tried CR/Poly/Gf you will certainly enjoy the bragging rights of trying them all:rotfl:

The Poly is our favorite resort, but CR is definitely at the top of our list too. I've stayed at all the non-DVC deluxe resorts except BC. WL is actually at the bottom of our deluxe list - the lobby is beautiful, but the rooms feel small (even with only 2 people) and the pool was always way too crowded; and the transportation does nothing special for me.

CR has nice big rooms, a good pool, a marina, the monorail and the ability to walk to MK. To me there's just something magical at CR. There's a "disney vibe", some sort of energy flowing through it - the monorail, Chef Mickey's, the shops, etc. To me, the CR feels like the heartbeat of WDW.

Obviously it all comes down to personal preference, but you asked ;)

Just over 5 weeks until we check in for our next stay at CR :)

We (my wife and I) have only been in a TPV room once, and that was for about 5 minutes on our honeymoon, which was our first trip to WDW. I went straight to the balcony to see this view I'd been hearing about, and like you said I thought it was more of a parking lot view than anything else. Then my wife noticed that we got two double beds instead of the king (queen?) that we had requested. We called and explained that this was our honeymoon and really wanted the king bed. They said they couldn't accommodate us on the TPV side, but that they had a Bay Lake view room that we could have instead. (This was back when all the rooms cost the same and you just put in your view request and hoped for the best.) We took it and instantly fell in love with the view. (And it didn't hurt that this was while they were rehabbing the rooms, and the MK view room was the old technicolor scheme while the BL view was a recently rehabbed room.)

As for BLT, we went with a lake view (of course). I have requested the inside of the C (is that odd number rooms?), but now I'm second guessing it and might see what I can do about getting the view you described of the CR marina and pool.

By the way, all of these pictures are making me down right giddy! 87 days until we depart home, 89 until we check in.

We have had 7842, 7404 and 7805 and preferred the 7842 by far:goodvibes

That is the side that faces cr on the outside.

See the link above I posted for KnJ for more info.

:thumbsup2 I love the talking elevators! Have fun planning, it will be here soon enough.

If you haven't found this yet it's a great place for info.

I don't think I knew about the talking elevators! So fun! I can't wait to see what that means! :thumbsup2

Me too!! We hit 50 days today :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: I loved seeing pictures to help keep me excited! Maybe we should do a photo of the day each day!

11 days and I will be checking in...super excited!!!! Where do I check in for BLT?

Just switched over from the Poly for August. Now I need to talk myself into this. (TA asked if I wanted GF or Contemp and I froze staring at my email for a good 45 minutes switching my mind back and forth!)

We will end up in the garden wing, so when DH gets up in the morning to fill his refillable coffee he's heading to the contempo cafe for coffee, right? We've only passed through but in the past the tower always felt more structured than some of the CS at other resorts... for reference he wore pj's to go from YC to the BC marketplace- so is he going to feel any more out of place shuffling into the tower in flannel pants and a mickey t-shirt? If he thought it was ok at the YC is it probably the same level of "whatever"? Or is he going to be getting glared at by dressed for the day people who don't want to see pj's?

Has anybody got much experience with the CS locations here with numerous allergies? We are looking at wheat, soy, egg, dairy, peanut, some tree nuts, sesame, buckwheat and shellfish. Do you know if they do the allergy mickey waffles at the CS here? Or are we rushing to a TS breakfast every day if we don't bring our own? I had settled on the Poly because I know they handle this well.

My family of 6 (DH, DD 10, DD 6, DD 1, and DS infant) will be staying at the CR this summer. Since we have 2 babies (under 2) we upgraded to a TP view. We figured the babies could sleep and we could go out on the balcony and watch the fireworks with the 2 oldest. After reading some of the posts, did we make the wrong decision by upgrading? Should we go back to the BL view?
