Disney's CONTEMPORARY RESORT Information & Questions

Does anyone know how many rooms there are with King Beds in the Garden Wing Garden View (also if they have tubs as opposed to roll in showers). We have put a request in for this because my toddler really won't sleep in a portable crib on vacation so having him in bed with us is the only option while we are not at home. Also I would need a tub to bathe him. However according to TP it seems there may only be 2 rooms in the wing that may meet this criteria unless I am magically upgraded to a deluxe or main tower but it seems even deluxe is sold out.

I know things are just a request so if we need to make 2 queens work we will, I just want to be educated as what to ask for so I am not requesting something that doesn't even exist! Thank you!!

I don't know how many there are exactly, but there are at least 4 kings with a tub. Touring Plans can be quite inaccurate when it comes to room types, room amenities, etc.

We are booked at the Contemporary at the end of June to July 4 for a Standard Atrium Club room. Is there a room request that we should add? If we request close to elevator or club lounge, will this be far enough from Chef Mickey's noise? I do go back and take naps, mid day but I have narcolepsy and can sleep anywhere and through anything. Any benefits to any other certain room requests? Thanks for any suggestions!

What's the bus situation like at the Contemporary?

Where are the pickups at BLT or only the Main Building?

What's the sharing order with Wilderness Lodge, Campground and Contemporary/BLT?

Is this order for all stops or is the order reversed for a particular park or a particular time of day?

Are any resort busses particularly problematic?

For Epcot and Disney Springs Is it smarter to just walk to MK for all transportation and just hop the resort bus closest to whatever park and walk into the park? What about Animal Kingdom and HS?

Buses are located closest to the Contemporary resort out front. The bus system at the contemporary is actually very poor considering the cost of staying there. Other resorts have multiple 'stations' where buses pull up based on where they are going. At Contemporary it is more of a free for all with no real process. You can expect to share a bus during non-peak hours. Generally it is only the Wilderness lodge that you would share with.

For EPCOT, take the monorail. It's about 25 minutes with the station change. You won't get that in terms of time walking to Magic Kingdom. And early in the morning they might not even be doing resort pick ups at MK. We had a breakfast reservation at Cape May, so we walked over to the MK bus loop, and they ended up giving us a van as no busses were scheduled for quite some time to shuttle guests back to the resort.

For Disney Springs, they run a dedicated bus there. It will be faster than taking a bus to Saratoga Springs and walking, especially since Saratoga Springs has stops within the resort.

Animal Kingdom must be accessed by bus, there is no quicker way using Disney transport.

For Hollywood Studios, again, same issue as going to EPCOT. Magic Kingdom likely won't be shuttling people that soon, and its about 30 minutes total of walking time from Contemporary to the buses at magic kingdom and from bordwalk to hollywood studios.

If you are looking for speed, try using a taxi/uber/lyft.

Hi! I was wondering if someone could clarify room views for me.
I just booked a TPV room for September. I was reading some blog review of someone who had a TPV Atrium club room, and they said they were able to see the Electrical Water Pageant from their room.
Do all TPV rooms have a view of the water pageant? If not, is there something I should request that would increase the chances of getting the water pageant view? Truthfully, the water pageant view is more "exciting" to me than the TPV...
thanks!
Yes, all of the theme park view rooms would have a view of the Electrical Water Pageant, however it would be a distant view. You'll be able to see the pageant as it makes it way between the Polynesian and Grand Floridian on Seven Seas Lagoon. Rooms on the Bay Lake Side would have a much closer view of the pageant.

Thank you! Maybe we'd just go down to one of the "public" areas then to watch the pageant.

As the PP said, with a TPV room you can see it at its various stops around the 7 Seas Lagoon (Poly, GF, MK) but it's not a good/direct view and you really won't be able to hear it. The standard/Bay Lake View is the direct CR viewing side. It is LOUD AS $$$$ by the way. It starts at 10:15. I'm here now actually, this was my view last night. One of Disney's true gems if you ask me.

Oh Wow! That view is actually exactly what I would want! When I was 9 years old (I'm 41 now) my family took our first trip to Disney and stayed at the Contemporary--and the photo you posted is EXACTLY my memory of the pageant. :)
Thank you for posting that!

I just did online check in yesterday for the Garden Wing and these were the options:
Balcony
Ground Floor
Upper Floor
Near Elevator
Near Transportation

Thanks ! I didn't realize the garden wings had balconies, (or paddocks, lol) . I want to request ground floor so that is a good choice. I will probably list a request on the reservation as well, but cant hurt to double up on our bases! Would also like pool side, but since ground floor since I want an outside area is first on my list, I wonder if listing pool side as 2nd option may hurt chances of that.

What room requests should I make for theme park view? Will be with or dds 2 and 4. So quiet is good.

Yes. I also find them to be inaccurate with those type of things! Thanks for the info.

We're staying in the Garden Wing at the end of May (just booked!). What are the best requests? Better to be closer to transportation or on the ground floor?

Personally, I'm requesting ground floor for the outside patio sitting space. I was also contemplating a pool side write in request, but really want ground floor and I have a garden view booked, so those are all still nice .

Note that the balconies are the Juliet type, not the kind you can go outside and stand on, so if you want outdoor space definitely request ground floor.
