When I do the online check-in and get the notification on my phone that my room is ready, will I be able to verify that the room has two queen beds instead of a single king and that it's the right room type/location?
Only if you know where that room is. Otherwise, you'll find out when you get there.

Well, if your room number is 4101 and 4916, you'll know for sure you're in the Tower, but not which side, configuration, or size of the room, right?

We need access to a freezer. I know some mini fridges have that freezer cube in the top corner. Do the ones in the rooms have those? We'll be in the cr tower. We need them for ice packs for our cooler bag.

If not, could we give them to the bell services to freeze overnight for us?

The only freezers will be in the one bedroom and larger DVC villas. Bell Service may freeze it for you, but they might not as well.

Just so you're prepared, not everyone that does Online Check In gets the room ready text and gets to Bypass The Front Desk. There's a chance you'll have to stop by the Check In desk when you arrive.

Maps such as this can help (for the Tower, the top is Bay Lake side, the bottom is TPV side). Sites such as Touring Plans room finder can assist with Two Queens/King but with the caveat that their maps can be inaccurate.

Our magic bands arrived today! We booked the trip on April 4th after my husband said "let's just go back to the Contemporary since we had so much fun in July." So I did, lol. We were originally planning a long weekend in Saint Augustine since it's one of the places we are considering when we finally move out of NJ in a few years. We had some extra money and decided to take a vacation with just the two of us since we haven't been since our honeymoon 28 years ago. We had so much fun last July on our last "just the 6 of us" vacation (we were attending a wedding in Orlando and decided to make it a Disney trip since one daughter is getting married this September) and still talk about it.

We are staying in a TPV room. We tried for CL but none were available when we booked. We were in the Hospitality Suite in the Garden Wing last time and we loved it. I made all our fast passes and one dining reservation at the California Grill but we will probably cancel that since we are only staying 3 nights and we'd rather do other things.

I was surprised there weren't many rooms available when we booked then learned there's a cheerleading competition but not sure if that's affecting anything. We leave early May 4th, flight arrives at 10:00am and our flight leaves on May 7th at 7:00 pm.

I still can't believe we are going.

All guests who take the monorail from Disney's Contemporary Resort must now pass through a screening station between the escalator and The Game Station/Fantasia:

Guests can no longer proceed to the escalator without first passing through screening. Guests must instead go around the elevator bank to the other side of the Mary Blair mural:

Guests using the MK Walkway from Disney's Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake Tower must also pass through a screening checkpoint right after crossing the street:

Thanks for posting that, Kook. Does that mean we won't have to go through security once we arrive at MK?

For anyone at wdw now or just left, do you go through security again and again if for example you from CR to poly for breakfast and back on monorail and then over to GF to shop etc?

You'll know which side your on based on what view you booked. configuration if I remember correctly odd numbered rooms have beds facing MK - even numbered facing away. Room numbers ending in 01 are close to Chef Mickeys - rooms ending in 30s are furthest away from Chef Mickeys. Size of rooms are pretty much all the same.

Was there last week. Yes, every time you get back on the monorail you will go through security. In my experience last week (which I felt was particularly high crowd time), there were almost non-existent waits through security at any of the monorail resorts, it was totally painless.

The benefits this new system has at MK are VERY significant and more than make up for any sort of annoyance this may cause with multiple screenings if you monorail resort hop, in my opinion.

Yes they do we were there last month and enjoyed room service our first night. What a treat there is a table on wheels that can be slid out and put in front of the sofa or where ever you'd like. They bring everything and set it up for you. DD and I really enjoyed our meal and being spoiled ;)
Not sure about the high chair.

Thank you! I thought they had to have something but I wanted to be sure.

Excited for our GW stay beginning 5/10! Second time we stayed there (DS and I) using the certain travel agency great deal. We don't have DVC points left for our spring trip ever and usually book a mod or SSR on DVC cash but did this instead two years ago and now again so it's a real treat!

DS even loves the standard view of the monorail as if it's a premium view!

Question on the new security check points. Does this take care of bag check and metal detector or just the metal detector portion? Meaning what will still take place at the park entrance, if anything?

Thank you!

It's bag check and metal detector. What takes place at park entrance? Nothing (other than scanning your MB at the gate). It's awesome!
