Disney's CONTEMPORARY RESORT Information & Questions

So what is the best spot to watch the fireworks from if you are staying at BLT?
I didn't really care for the view from TOTWL. The fireworks looked very disjointed. I preferred the bridge between the Contemporary and BLT, or, even the parking lot. My favorite spot was in new Fantasyland. They are all around you.

What's the bus situation like at the Contemporary?

Where are the pickups at BLT or only the Main Building?

What's the sharing order with Wilderness Lodge, Campground and Contemporary/BLT?

Is this order for all stops or is the order reversed for a particular park or a particular time of day?

Are any resort busses particularly problematic?

For Epcot and Disney Springs Is it smarter to just walk to MK for all transportation and just hop the resort bus closest to whatever park and walk into the park? What about Animal Kingdom and HS?

I have a relative who lives in Tampa who would like to come up and see us for the day. Are they allowed to go to the pool with us?

Only if that relative is added to your reservation. And you'd have to have occupancy left in your room to do that. Otherwise, no, the pool is for registered guests of that resort only (and DVC members who are staying on DVC points at DVC resorts and pool hopping is not blacked out for that time).

OK, here is my complicated (maybe) question for the day. We will be arriving at MCO @ 3:40 on a Friday afternoon (October 20th, if it matters). We will be taking the Magical Express to the Contemporary, checking in, taking a quick minute for the usual "oohs & aahs" over our room, a quick bathroom break, and then heading over to eat at Trail's End at Fort Wilderness prior to the "Legend of Sleepy Hollow" event. What would be a realistic ADR time for dinner? Hopefully someone is an expert and can give me an answer. Thanks in advance!
popcorn::I think we will be flying in earlier, and we are planning to go to Chef Mickeys, but otherwise, I have the same question.popcorn::

Hi everyone!
We'll be at the contemporary tower in a theme park room 9/19-9/26 for our first trip with kids. They'll be two and four. I booked it for the convenience, but I'm still a little nervous. Especially with the new security measures.

How long does it take by bus to get to HS? AK? Disney springs? What about getting back? Specifically getting back from Disney springs after dinner?

How long to Epcot? Do we have to go through security twice now?

Well now have to go through security to and from dinner at 1900 Park fare?

I was really looking forward to booking at BLT, but the security changes have me thinking... If I want to go to Epcot, am I going to be screened three times to get there? Once at contemporary monorail, once at TTC and once at Epcot entrance. With stroller, diaper bag and etc you carry along with LOs that will be a nightmare. Also security check every time you want to dine at another monorail resort? Is it just me that thinks that this security measures take away a lot of the convenience factor of staying on the monorail loop?

I was looking at photos on www.wdwmagic.com and security at TTC is where the tram lines used to be so if you arrive by monorail they will know that you already went through security so I don't think you would have to go through again to switch monorails. It would be easy for them to have monorail passengers avoid security at Epcot too-as all would have already gone through at TTC.

I have the same concerns regarding my October stay at the Contemporary. I'm going primarily for the Food & Wine Festival so I don't want to be going through security multiple times just to get to the park. We should know shortly as people will start to post on the boards if there are any issues getting from the CR to Epcot. I made a backup reservation at POFQ just in case the reports are that its a major hassle.

Hi! We are considering staying here in the Garden wing! Does Contemporary usually get a good discount in November? We can't really afford it without the discount.

When discounts are offered for the Contemporary, they are usually very small, typically in the range of 10% to 15%. The current summer room only discount is 15% off the rack rate.

On the security conversation above, I'm at the GF now but the same would apply to CR. Left for Epcot around 9ish this AM. As expected, we were screened at GF before getting on the monorail (which was super quick and easy). We were then screened again at Epcot like the old system. Time wise, it wasn't that much different than "normal" to be honest. Hopefully they come up with a way to move monorail folks without double screening, but I'm not really sure how they would (easily) do this without a big reconfiguration of how the monorail traffic gets to the park entrance.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, that is very helpful. It is annoying having to go through security twice. Takes long enough once when you are carrying stroller, diaper bags etc. Hopefully they will work this out by next year. DH hates security lines. I think I am just not going to tel him you have to go through security to get on the monorail and pretend to be surprised when it actually happens ;) .

Thanks for the info. At least it's not three security screenings! I'm somewhat relieved that there was not a screening at the TTC Epcot monorail station.

At the beginning of this thread it says there are only 3 Garden Wing Deluxe rooms. Can someone tell me where they are located.

The deluxe rooms are located in the "bend" on the left arm of the south garden wing. It's labeled on the map as room 09.

Does anyone know how many rooms there are with King Beds in the Garden Wing Garden View (also if they have tubs as opposed to roll in showers). We have put a request in for this because my toddler really won't sleep in a portable crib on vacation so having him in bed with us is the only option while we are not at home. Also I would need a tub to bathe him. However according to TP it seems there may only be 2 rooms in the wing that may meet this criteria unless I am magically upgraded to a deluxe or main tower but it seems even deluxe is sold out.

I know things are just a request so if we need to make 2 queens work we will, I just want to be educated as what to ask for so I am not requesting something that doesn't even exist! Thank you!!

Hi! I was wondering if someone could clarify room views for me.
I just booked a TPV room for September. I was reading some blog review of someone who had a TPV Atrium club room, and they said they were able to see the Electrical Water Pageant from their room.
Do all TPV rooms have a view of the water pageant? If not, is there something I should request that would increase the chances of getting the water pageant view? Truthfully, the water pageant view is more "exciting" to me than the TPV...
thanks!
