Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

First surprise, the slippers now have the YC logo!
I love the new logo slippers. I took a pair of the plain white slippers from one of our club level stays and now I take them with me on every trip we make that involves a hotel stay. They are very easy to pack and don't take up much room.
Strange question but the picture of the slippers made me think of it. Those slippers while a nice touch are rather flimsy (or have been in the past). I have always wondered if they throw them away after use or do they simply launder them, seal them back up and reuse them? Does anyone know?
The slippers are flimsy and would not survive a washing machine. I've tried washing them by hand, since I've used my pair for years. But they certainly didn't look like new again. ;)
Rooms 4x19, 4x20, 4x22 are the deluxe queens. My pics are the 4x22 version.
Thanks for the pictures. It looks like you have to climb over the bed to reach that chair in the corner. :)

Sorrry to hear that. I found the CM lounge manager very helpful to us on previous trips with room problems and moving us to a better location and getting reimbursements. Very pleased. Hyincith was her name. Sorry about the spelling.

Thanks! I’ve also interacted with Hyacinith many times over the years, from way back when she was at BC CL. She’s great for sure. I am good with how the CMs handled everything last night tho. I don’t think there’s anything they could have done differently, they did try to get a room in the area last night but there wasn’t anything available. I very briefly considered asking if there might be another room in that location today. But we were already moving 3 times in a 10 night trip (1 night at FQ after a late arrival, 5 nights YC, 4 nights GF RPC). This made 4 times. Thank goodness for packing cubes! I really am OK with this room now & for sure don’t want to move again.

No kidding, this has me slightly worried for our visit given we will be on the Wish before we check in! Hopefully they call before the cruise when we are at the GF. Two weeks out and still nothing yet. My main concern is the allergy stuff.
I reached out to Signature Services a couple of months before our arrival die to my food allergies. I received a call within 2 days from 2 of the Poly chefs. Neither of them are here now, they transferred according to the chefs here now. I have a gluten allergy and have been very pleased. There was only one night so far that I wasn’t really thrilled with.

Actually in person there is room. I sat there a few times. It was a cozy corner and had a window,

I really enjoyed the deluxe queen. My friend has stayed in them many times and I have visited but the new decor and staying in one ? Loved it!

Are the slippers supposed to be available in every CL room? If so I will know to request them if they are not in the room during our BWI CL stay next month.
Also, is there supposed to be a welcome gift in CL rooms?
I am asking because neither of these was offered with our Jambo CL stay this past April, but if they are part of the package I will be sure to ask.
I don't pay attention to slippers, but we usually get a box of chocolates. My most recent AKL stay was not CL, I don't recall if we got any. I remember getting chocolates at WL, CR, and GF.

We had an odd experience at GF. The first day we got turn down, including chocolates on the pillow, but then we did not get room service the next day, or turn down any other days. Room was serviced all of our other days though.

Over at Portofino CL, we got room service every other day.

We all agreed the food at Portofino was better quality than GF. The pastries were better. the fruit was slightly better at GF, but at both resorts we saw less than ideal fruit. Glad to see berries at GF, but some were not in great shape. Most the fruit at Porto was excellent quality, but the selection was watermelon, melon, pineapple. and they had a small bowl of berries every morning by the yogurt. they also had some sometimes questionable looking bananas. Other times the bananas were fine.

Porto has maybe a smaller selection of desserts, but everything we tried was very good! Nice cannoli! One downside is their desserts close at 9pm, so the timing is a bit tight to get back from the parks before the lounge closes.

Porto puts out a nice salad every evening. I normally go for the espresso machine offerings, but Portofino serves excellent regular coffee! It was really good. The milk there was also really good. I'm not sure what was so great about it, but it was very good milk.

For water, we like the dispenser at GF, while all the Universal CL's give out bottled water. I did not recognize the brand, but it was decent water. We had to ask for reusable bottles at GF to get them. We happened to see someone else with bottles, or we would not thought to ask. Porto also had a rotation of chilled lemon or orange water. They also have some out by the pool, and in the lobby with cups. GF does not.

Staff at both was nice enough, but mostly we did not interact with them as much as on prior stays. At Porto, they do a quick spot check when you enter the lounge now. (check your name/look up your reservation). Bell staff at Porto was top notch. They are however, doing major repainting at Porto right now. It was kinda neat to see the buildings transformed by the workers though as they added paint details to the buildings while we were in the parks. The boat captains at Porto were also very nice!

The Porto lounge has a nice bathroom. Royal Pacific also has one, but I don't think HRH does. I don't think GF has one, and our room was on the 3rd floor, so going back to the room was a bit of pain. At check-in, I asked CM if our room was near the lounge. She turned bright red, then tried to tell me it was, "just a short elevator ride away." While I think some rooms are further away, I would not describe our room as close to the lounge at all. So that was a bit annoying. We had one of the rooms that faces towards the main GF pool/ the Mad Hatter splash pad. Not the best room, but I liked the layout. We had a small table with a bench near the door. We like to have a place to put things when we get back to the room, so the table was handy. On a prior non CL stay at GF, we did not have that table, but I think the other room was slightly larger.

On check out day, we accidentally left some small cold packs in the fridge, on the tiny top shelf. I realized I'd left them about an hour after we left the room. CM's were nice, but they could not enter room. They said they would check again and email me about the ice packs plus another question we asked, but I have not heard back. Now- I will add here, a few years back we left a pillow behind at a Fairfield, and THAT hotel called us right away AND offered to mail the pillow to us! We drove back to get it, and it was only a $5 cheap pillow. So it is a little disappointing that GF didn't contact us at all.

When we did ask a few questions about the food at both hotels, the food staff was very nice. One of the CM's even gave us a small box of cookies. The piano music was outstanding as always, except for playing Every Breath You Take multiple days in a row. (We call it the stalker song),she also played Game of thrones, so we laughed a bit at that one.

1900 Park Fare was a disappointment. Mirabel was outstanding, Snow White was okay (she replaced another princess who could not make it, so I give her credit for that), but the other characters either did not come to our table at all or only came when only one of us was at the table (and didn't return). The food was not very good, and they had trouble keeping the buffet stocked with a number of dishes. Now, normally, the characters are not all that important to us, but the way they didn't come to our table was really not good. The table next to us had two little girls dressed as princesses, and they ALSO got similarly bypassed. Tiana made a quick stop to their table when just one of the girls was there. The other girl was almost in tears because she was dressed as Tiana, AND it was her birthday! So that was upsetting to see such sloppy carelessness.

Both were decent stays, and neither was perfect, but we thought Porto was better overall than GF this time around.

We are staying in AKLV in Kidani and the Beach Club Villas using DVC points. Is it possible to stay in the DVC rooms at these resorts and pay more to have access to club level services and the lounge?

Hey, now that I've mentioned coffee, it occurs to me that you all might be able to answer a question for me! I am, truly, a coffee addict, and more specifically, a cappuccino addict. I visited my parents in Italy in 2000, where I discovered the joy that is Italian cappuccino, and I have been a coffee snob ever since. I make a big cup (bowl) of capp every morning using Kimbo coffee that I have shipped in from Italy. 😆 So my question for you all is...what is the coffee situation like in club level across Disneyworld? Any chance they have an espresso maker with a frothing attachment in the club lounges? 😉 I can bring my own grounds if needed, lol!

Yes. All lounges have an espresso machine with frothers. Some lounges have the Nepresso pods and others have an automated machine where you just hit a button. None of them allow you to bring your own grounds just FYI.

You cannot add on CL anywhere except WL. However, you can only upgrade regular hotel rooms there not DVC even if you are paying cash for DVC booked through WDW.
AKL Jambo has 5, lock off 2 bedrooms CL rooms for use (can be split into a 1 bedroom and studio). These are the most difficult rooms to get using DVC points. You can only book them using luck most of the time.

They have 2 queens and a queen sleeper. Unfortunately the rooms can only be booked for 1-4 persons.

Attached is a map of RPC. Rooms 4x19, 4x20, 4x22 are the deluxe queens. My pics are the 4x22 version.

Thank you; I knew someone here would know! There's 4 of us, but our kids will be 20 and almost 18 when we go for my DD's 18th birthday and that means we need a bit more room than a regular room. I think this will work.

I'm also looking through the villa options, we may be getting to the point that we may need to go the villa route simply because of space.

So the one appetizer I was looking forward to was the short ribs & mashed potatoes. We had an ADR at Topolinos, but I still intended to stop in for a small portion before we left. Unfortunately, we had a mini disaster & never got to the lounge. As we were getting ready for dinner, I noticed my Disney Visa was missing from my wallet. I had used it at Sci Fi at lunch the day before.

Husband & I determined the server handed the folder to him since he was on the outside. Husband filled out the slip, handed it to me to sign with our copy. Between how dark the restaurant is, the black folder & my card being a darker design, he never noticed the CC. I didn’t pay attention to if he picked it up. Anyway, once we got over our panic, we went to the CL desk. Elena, the same CM we had worked with the night before re: changing rooms was again on duty. She called Studios & while they couldn’t say if the CC was found, they told her everything from the day before was sent to Disney Springs lost & found. She sent us on our way to dinner, filled out a lost item form & arranged for a runner to go to Springs to pick it up. She also said to check with them this morning if we didn’t hear anything last night.

This morning we talked with Hyacinth, she found out that lost & found was closed by the time the runner got there last night. She arranged for someone to go this morning. I got a call at 11:30 that the CC was found & was in the managers safe at the front desk! We are so relieved & grateful to everyone who went out of their way to retrieve it. The front desk CM even made us feel better… she said she had done the exact same thing 3 weeks ago with her Disney Visa with the same design!! What are the chances? We both laughed & said we’re going to change to a much brighter design. I will definitely be sending a CM compliment for Elena & everyone who went above & beyond for us. The cost of a Disney deluxe & CL was worth every penny this trip.

Friday’s menu & a few pictures. It was a little busier this morning. The fruits, breads for toasting, cereals & yogurt are the same every day, so I didn’t get more pictures of those. Today’s menu is back to the same items as Tuesday. Unless there’s anything new tonight or tomorrow, I probably won’t have more pictures to share. We don’t drink, so I don’t have any pictures or info on what wines etc are offered. Also, note there are the small water bottles in the drink fridge which is new from all our previous stays.

Wow, so glad you got it back and that the CMs were so helpful. That’s the kind of service you expect at Disney. 😀
Thanks again for all the great pics.

What is the current beer and wine situation at YC? Are drinks still being handed to you by staff? Last time I was there, I felt very
judged every time I asked for a glass of something. It put me off to the point that I won't go back there again until it is self serve
alchohol.
Likely YC/BC will never be self serve. I love the YC, mainly for the pool but yes, the alcohol situation is off putting. We now stick to BWI Deluxe Club level and LOVE the self serve alcohol.
However...the older adult in me sez I'm paying BIG money at the YC and I shouldn't be concerned about how many times I ask for a glass of something. I've paid for it....it's mine to drink. Don't look for judgement where there is none. If there is a judgy look, just smile and maybe ask for 2 glasses each time:).

Saturday menu, it was really crowded in the lounge this morning, we didn’t get there til about 8:15, all tables were full, but someone got up just as we were looking.

IMG_3187.jpeg

I didn’t get pictures of the dessert offerings, but took a picture of my plate. This is the orange chocolate eclair, chocolate cupcake & raspberry cheesecake. The cheesecake especially was delicious.

I know there’s lots of people here who like coffee, and who stay at many different resorts. Please, if you can, hop over to my Coffee Maker thread and post info on the coffee makers you’ve encountered at the resorts lately. Thanks.

By any chance was your room 4328? If so that room is larger than the others and I ask for it and only got it once, it has an extra inside the room hall so more space. I also prefer the room 4x22-30. The view of poly and pool is nice, you get a nice view of EWP as well. 4x13and 14 are about the same distance from the lounge /resort view category. IMO , you can’t go wrong distance wise with resort view, TPV and deluxe king are the rooms furthest from the lounge. See map I posted recently . Rooms 4x01-09 are deluxe king and TPV.

Just returned home from a split stay - 3 nights at Riviera then 3 nights Coronado Springs Grand Destino Tower Club Level.

We were able to use Bounceback offer to get 30% off the Coronado Club Level. During our stay there the Chronos Lounge was very empty. Talking with one of the CMs, she explained it’s because of no or low (10%) discounts for club level rooms and the weather.

We found the food options to be very good. We ate breakfast and dinner there each day. We found having a big lunch somewhere else (Biergarten one day) then a light dinner in the Chronos lounge before heading out to a park for the evening worked well for us.
