Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Just returned home from a split stay - 3 nights at Riviera then 3 nights Coronado Springs Grand Destino Tower Club Level.

We were able to use Bounceback offer to get 30% off the Coronado Club Level. During our stay there the Chronos Lounge was very empty. Talking with one of the CMs, she explained it’s because of no or low (10%) discounts for club level rooms and the weather.

We found the food options to be very good. We ate breakfast and dinner there each day. We found having a big lunch somewhere else (Biergarten one day) then a light dinner in the Chronos lounge before heading out to a park for the evening worked well for us.
Can you (or anyone else) tell me about the breakfast offerings @ Coronado CL?

Appetizers & a few desserts from yesterday.

Unfortunately, husband & I have tested + for Covid, so we’re ending our vacation & heading home early. The staff was accommodating about our early check out & we will only be charged for the 2 nights we were here (room only reservation). Luckily we have very mild symptoms at this point. I’m a retired RN & neurotic about testing or we wouldn’t have even known. I’m very disappointed but we’d rather get home in case we get sicker.

I posted on the LL thread, I did a chat on the app & the CM was able to refund our LLs we had booked for tomorrow. We have a trip booked for Christmas Day @ CR Tower Club. Our first thoughts were, we should cancel that & skip the big crowd if we caught it with light crowds. But I’m thinking, we’ll be just over 3 months post infection & if we get our boosters in late November, maybe we’ll be ok. We’ll have to see how bad we get this time.

Hmm a personal decision on length and how you prioritize CL lounge time vs park time. Will you be making ADR selections for dinner or would the lounge offerings be enough for your group? Do you tend to stay late at the parks?

They would be the same since you have CL lounge access from the time you arrive until 10 PM on your check-out day. It would be helpful to know your park plans for your 7 days.

This would help to determine if you want to focus on a slower pace and enjoy the Breakfast and Evening offerings. I don't put much weight on the afternoon offerings unless you just happen to be at the resort for a break or pool time. Are you a rope-drop group or would you take time to enjoy a leisurely breakfast and miss the 30 minute EE window?

The period around Easter is always busy so make a decision and stick with it. DVC CL access is limited to the AKL and are normally quite hard to come by for most.

The closer to Easter the busier the parks will be so if you choose a split stay. I would vote for having your AKL DVC CL stay later in your visit and focus on park time for the first 3-4 days before the crowds ramp up.

Appreciate the answer! Ok so I think I have at least made the decision that if I go split stay it'll be the first three days. If anything we can go harder on the parks those days and then slow it down a bit when at AK. It's just amazing that regular rooms at the other resorts are so close to the amount of points that get you club level! I think spring break we would want to stay at the resort a bit more but again I just wonder if having the club level will sway us to do less parks just to be able to get more value out of it. Although we would definitely do fewer ADRs if that were the case thereby saving even more. Plus checkout day gets breakfast before the airport right? And what about check in day? Can you use it all day?

Can you (or anyone else) tell me about the breakfast offerings @ Coronado CL?
My stay was about a year ago but I don't expect much to have changed since then.
Breakfast hot station would have some variety of bacon/sausage, scrambled eggs or frittata, and either spanish potatoes or polenta cakes. There was always oatmeal with toppings. Some assortment of pineapple/grapes/berries, tons of pastries - croissants, muffins, sweet breads, scones, and cold cereal.
And don't forget the best part, POG mimosas! :)

Sure,
These rotated each day:
Egg dish - plain scrambled, one with vegetables (tomatoes, spinach I think).
Potatoes or polenta cubes.
Bacon or sausage.

These were about the same each day:
Oatmeal, small muffins, pastries, croissants, bagels, breads for toast, cereals, fruit, orange juice. And I think I remembered seeing hard boiled eggs too.

There is a coffee machine that will make individual coffees, espressos, etc. but we would just ask for regular brewed coffee that they had in the back.

A few pictures of the main spread from our visit in January (but still same). there is another counter (not in the pictures) on the right that has the fruit.

starting from the left in front is the eggs, bacon, oatmeal, potatoes. behind that is the coffee and juice. the counter on the right has all of the pastries, breads, muffins, cereals, etc.

We returned home Friday, my wife woke up feeling very ill on Saturday, tested positive for COVID. We were planning on getting our boosters along with flu shot soon. Might be a good idea to use masks at Disney again, at least when inside - I remember being in some crowded queue's and hearing some coughs and sneezes.

Ouch sorry to hear your Anniversary trip ended early. Hopefully you will have no or only mild symptoms. Thank you for the real time updates and pictures from the YC and now the RPC.

Yes, you have access to the lounge starting at breakfast on check-in day and all day on your checkout day, until it closes. If you do a search on YouTube, you’ll find plenty of videos. Just watched a couple of newly posted videos yesterday from AKL CL. It should give you an idea of what to expect from the offerings, and you can decide whether or not you’d like to plan any ADR’s.
Funny, you want to cut your days at Club Level, and I just added another for one of our upcoming trips this morning!! lol Enjoy!

Here are my pictures from December… should be similar to what’s currently being served. Start HERE and keep scrolling through, I have plenty of food pics. To note: I just saw pictures on Facebook the other day. They now serve grilled chicken, buttered, corn, and broccoli on some nights for evening apps. Hope that helps.

I’m so sorry your wife is sick too. Hoping you don’t catch it & she feels better quickly. We’ve only had it once before. My husband was terribly sick for 24 hours then quickly recovered. I had slight cold symptoms for about 5 days, then got very ill for another 10 days. So I’m nervous & want to be home, just in case. The annoying thing is, we had masks & didn’t use them. I could kick myself. But even outside, so many people were just walking along, loud coughing without covering their mouths even walking within inches of you.

Good luck to you & your wife!

Thanks so much! I enjoy seeing other people’s pictures so much, I was glad to have something to contribute.

Might be some I can do soon 👍

By any chance was your room 4328? If so that room is larger than the others and I ask for it and only got it once, it has an extra inside the room hall so more space. I also prefer the room 4x22-30. The view of poly and pool is nice, you get a nice view of EWP as well. 4x13and 14 are about the same distance from the lounge /resort view category. IMO , you can’t go wrong distance wise with resort view, TPV and deluxe king are the rooms furthest from the lounge. See map I posted recently . Rooms 4x01-09 are deluxe king and TPV.
No, not 4328. But it was just a few doors down, so maybe a similar configuration. It seemed to me, like maybe the total SQ footage was similar to most rooms, but due to that little hall, the main area was a little smaller than other rooms. I didn't measure it though.

I'm glad @focusondisney seemed to enjoy their recent YC stay. I had a BC CL stay not too long ago and, while I usually have a pretty high tolerance for the ebbs and flows of Disney CL over time, not sure I really found the offerings all that favorable this time around, if I'm being honest.

But first, I thought the CMs were fantastic - lots of great personalities and people working hard to keep things clean/turn tables. This was a nice change over past BC stays. The BC CL lounge itself is a nice size and the flow works reasonably well - no big clogs/jams. The lounge itself was clean and spotless, seems like maybe they've had new furniture sometime recently. The ice cream fridge is great for an afternoon treat (especially when walking back in mid 90s temps) and bottled water was plentiful. The location will ALWAYS deliver a quality stay. Hooray to whoever decided to print the daily menu in larger legible font! :-)

As for the food - years ago I used to have the impression that YC and BC "tried harder" with their offerings to make up for lounges that weren't all that exciting - had no notable views or other advantages, vs, say, the MK resorts. I think the pendulum has maybe swung a different direction and BC/YC CL offerings are just sort of basic/passable - at the same time places like CR, GF, and even Poly have been on more of an upward swing. Quality was just so-so and not that much variety. I don't really have pics or specifics to fully elaborate on what I mean here, that's just my overall impression after a few days.

I will say food temp seemed to be an issue, especially at breakfast - the oatmeal was cold, the egg dishes were cold - not sure what they was about, perhaps an equipment issue. I'm also getting older and grumpier in that I don't really love what eventually becomes room temperature yogurt and boiled eggs if you catch breakfast later in a service. I'm not some food temp safety fanatic, but I do wish Disney had installed more refrigerated surfaces / serving options in some of their recent renovations, like you see in many lounge type environments.

I wouldn't not stay BC or YC CL for anything I said above - the good still outweighs anything less than favorable - just passing along my two cent opinion.

Finally! I keep checking for a BB offer and never find anything we want. Sunday dh said let’s go visit my mom next week in Florida. Ok JetBlue is cheap Monday -Friday 9/16-20.

So I said maybe do a night a Disney? Sure let’s do Thursday.

I checked out of POFQ 9/4 so yesterday at 7 days I had my TA call. Both CR Resort View CL and GF RPC resort view were 40% off.

RPC? Yes please!

Honestly I prefer the food at CR but I love the blue rooms at GF and the enormous 3 level lounge space of GF. We also prefer the lovely grounds of GF.

First of all much respect to your profile pic today.

So I watched some current videos on the AKV CL like you said. For some reason I thought they had a few more traditional breakfast items like Mickey waffles. My kid basically just lives on Mickey waffles and bacon when down there. If I didn't see it in the videos I'm assuming they won't rotate them in by April? Is there a thing where you can ask for them separately especially since I'll be asking them for allergy friendly options for my kid?

Also I know CL is super highly sought after...what's the etiquette if I'm looking to switch to another hotel for the first half of my reservation? Do I leave it to chance...to the waitlist...let people know here what time I'm doing it like with ADRs?

Unfortunately, Mickey Waffles are only offered at RPC in Grand Floridian. You can definitely ask for allergy alternatives, but be aware each CL has their own alternative items that they offer/provide. Make sure you ask to speak to the chef upon check in to the lounge.

No, it’s not necessary. Just cancel it. You might make someone’s day by filling their waitlist or someone might pick them up at 7 months! Enjoy!

It seems like the offerings are always changing, either up or down. That's why the best advice on where to stay is still 'stay where you want to be' and don't give food choices/quality too much weight. (I would still consider self-serve vs CM-serve bars as those don't seem to change much.)

We moved to GF RPC Sunday. The lounge is a bit busier so hard to get pictures. These are from breakfast yesterday

Hope you are having a wonderful trip! Thanks so much for sharing all the photos and giving us a sneak peek. It's been quite a week as a teacher, getting back into the classroom so all your messages brought extra pixie dust! The Grand holds the best memories for our family. We loved every stay there- This year, we are planning to go back to the Boardwalk- Last year, one of the forum members recommended the CL there. We took them up on it and saved all year to go back! Counting the days til we leave in about six weeks. Hope to report back to you all with the menu. It will be a week after Fall break so we shall see how the crowds are.
