Will you have time to take advantage of the CL lounge offerings or will you be focused on the Parks or other adventures?Thinking I should just switch to a regular TPV room. Anyone want to sway me either way?
I’m staying club level at a Marriot in Tucson. It’s is by far the worst club level experience I’ve ever had. I just told my son it’s making me want to change our MYOCL trip to an actual club level, so I can erase this experience from my mind! I say go for it if you can take advantage of the offerings.Looks like this thread needs to be bumped up. CL’s been so quiet lately.
Down to the wire and suddenly doubting my CL decision for CR Atrium Club. Thinking I should just switch to a regular TPV room. Anyone want to sway me either way?
We’ll be using it mostly for breakfast. We have reservations for dinner, but maybe we’d have a soda and some chips in afternoon. Guess I’m worried about being tied to their times and to food that we might not like as well as our own. Will you have time to take advantage of the CL lounge offerings or will you be focused on the Parks or other adventures?
I always look at it as a business decision. Based on the additional price will we make use of the Breakfast offerings and the Evening offering. We never go back for afternoon snacks unless we are having a resort afternoon break which is quite rare.

Sorry to hear that. Hope you have another Disney trip soon to make things better.I’m staying club level at a Marriot in Tucson. It’s is by far the worst club level experience I’ve ever had. You always have to best intel. That is a really interesting rumor. I mean I’m thrilled that coddled eggs are gone, but I’d hate to hear that that food is trending that way bc I’ve always thought that the food at CR has been better quality than other CL’s.Probably not a good time to note I heard rumblings that CR has (or is getting?) a new resort food/beverage manager from GF that plans to move the source kitchen to Chef Mickey’s vs CG. But it was also noted this person is very picky about CL food with high standards. SoAlso take all of that with a grain of salt since things can change, info can be lost in chit chat, rumors, etc. Like always with CL, ebbs and flows. Breakfast has been trending Chef Mickey’ish anyways so it could easily not be much impact or noticeable only to those of us around here that can pinpoint the smallest of CL changes going back years.

You don’t happen to know the timing of this change, do you??
I’m flip flopping everyday, but the trip is REALLY soon, so I’ll keep you posted if do CL.No, I don’t unfortunately. I hesitate to even post - you know how things go… people hear this from so and so, hear that from their friend, etc etc and next thing you know it’s like a game of telephone with info that maybe had some elements of truth but then gets garbled along the way. I mainly mention it as I’m curious if anyone going soon sees any notable changes. Otherwise for me, I won’t be changing any plans.![]()

First thing that comes to mind!!!This sounds super snooty (I guess because it is)… and one could question why I even stay at CR with this opinion… but I just really don’t like the 4th floor. I don’t like being there, the crowds, the noise, Contempo breakfasts just aren’t that appealing. The fact that the 4th floor got zero love in the renovations annoys me. The idea of having to mess with the elevators just to go down and get coffee or water - pass. That of course makes zero financial sense, but it factors materially into my decision making.![]()
It should be easy to know when / if someone new takes over just watch the fresh sushi in the Atrium Club does it stay or go.Probably not a good time to note I heard rumblings that CR has (or is getting?) a new resort food/beverage manager from GF that plans to move the source kitchen to Chef Mickey’s vs CG.
I completely understand. You’re not snooty, you’re practical and thoughtful about what’s important to you. I agree that the 4th floor can be horribly congested at times. I don’t mind it during the off-hours, but other times….This sounds super snooty (I guess because it is)… and one could question why I even stay at CR with this opinion… but I just really don’t like the 4th floor. The 4th floor always seemed to be off cycle with the resort updates for decades. The fact that the 4th floor got zero love in the renovations annoys me.
Not sure how many times you can eat at Chef Mickey's on a trip before even your kid is done. Our kids did enjoy the variety for a few years but they moved on after the Characters became secondary to good food variety beyond a buffet.Sometimes club keeps me from Enjoying “Disney” indulgences and something like Chef Mickey is probably more memorable for my kid.
We do both! CM is a must do for my almost 17 yo lol. He tells me it's for nostalgia. Last trip we did a 12 CM after a couple of hours at epcot. I give in because the first trip to disney was with my parents. My mom's been gone 5 years and we had the best time there (when he was 5). I'm guessing that's part of the reason he likes to go. So we go and it brings back good memories. We’ll be using it mostly for breakfast. We have reservations for dinner, but maybe we’d have a soda and some chips in afternoon. It is so convenient though…
CL breakfast is stupid convenient I cannot argue that point. What about those memories at the right age for a kid for something like Chef Mickeys? Will the kid remember? For awhile but it will probably fade. However, you’ll always have the photos. If the choice is down to memories like that at a seemingly appropriate age for the kid to really enjoy it vs the convenience of a fast morning I’d skip CL. Book CL when he is aged out of seeing Chef Mickey as Awesome and is instead eating you out of house & home.Enjoying “Disney” indulgences and something like Chef Mickey is probably more memorable for my kid.

Unfortunately mine still won’t let go. We have to go every time. On our last trip we were at the YC, so I thought we’d escape, but no.Not sure how many times you can eat at Chef Mickey's on a trip before even your kid is done. When I stayed CR, I actually liked the 4th floor! Lol. But, it was during covid and pretty empty. Even with restrictions to # of guests in the elevator, we barely waited. I liked having everything right there without leaving an air conditioned building. I would probably feel differently if I stayed there now. I was actually able to book a garden room.for the price mentioned above but my kids would hate to stay there and not be in the tower.
