Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

That does help:) thank you! Now I’m actually leaning toward bc club level although I heard the offerings are much better at BWI and a full balcony is a must.. Only issue is if I change now I will then have another credit, because they don’t refund, but I’m sure I could figure out something to do with it ;) I’m not going to change anything until I hear some trip reports after opening.

That’s currently accurate since Poly CL is not open yet, but no way that will be the case once it reopens. I think the CM is either misinformed or speaking as to exact current conditions.

I could perhaps see some modifications or eliminations to the mini lounge offerings in Tonga when CL reopens, but no way suite guests won’t have access to the lounge in Hawaii as has always been the case (in my opinion) or for those rooms to otherwise be CL.

FWIW, we recently had a stay in the 1BR. It is beautiful! It was already a good room, but the renovations have made it 1000% better.
Do suites booked as a cash reservations at all resorts with Club Lounges have access?

Correct. Unless I’m forgetting any unusual situations I can’t think of any deluxe resort suites that don’t have CL access. At CSR, the non-Tower suites (there are a handful of suite types in the Casitas section) aren’t CL, but all Tower suites are CL.

@run0007 - if you don’t mind posting, when is your trip? Feel free to use approx/vague date references if you’d like.
Thanks for the information and response. I tend to agree with you that certainly suite guests should definitely retain CL access. I was just surprised by that response from DSS. I will at least keep the reservation until CL reopens in February and see what happens then. We are not going until Late Nov. Early Dec this year, so I have time to see what happens.

Got it, thanks. While occasionally someone posts something that seems to indicate good DSS/resort coordination, personally I am oftentimes suspicious of some info as there has always been a bit of a disconnect between DSS and actual resort CL operations since DSS began several years ago. We can argue if it should be this way or not, but just too many layers in between for the info to get lost/misinterpreted. And chances are pretty good some DSS CMs have never stayed at the resort in question and a lot of time us as frequent guests know more about how things really operate, especially with infrequently booked rooms/situations such as the Poly suites.

All of that being said, I’m a little surprised you got such detailed info in writing. I guess we’ll see soon enough. :-)

By "cash reservation" are you referring to DVC? That's usually the phrase used when someone books DVC direct from Disney vs using points

Rooms that are DVC but can also be booked through the Disney website, not renting or using DVC points. For example, a 1BR suite at Boulder Ridge or Copper Creek that is booked through Disney for a nightly rate.

What about at WL when booked through Disney, a DVC suite, but not using points? Booked as a regular reservation.

Ahh, OK - I misunderstood your post above. No DVC Villa room type regardless of the size (with the exception of a few at AKL-Jambo that are a CL category) can access CL lounges.

If you book a 1BR Villa (note, Disney calls them Villas, not Suites when it comes to DVC properties) for cash - you just get the room, no CL extras.

That's what I thought you meant when you used the phrase cash reservation. Only AKL Jambo House has a CL DVC room. No other resort does.

Thanks, all! I didn't think so. It's the current debate here, book Club or a villa. Kids want the villa, adults Club. We shall see! :)

If you could luck in to one of the AKL DVC CL rooms that may solve your issue. If you like AKL. They few and are hard to get but not impossible.

During the early reopening days before CL was back… we booked several villas for cash and did “make your own CL” trips. I must admit it was nice and saved some $.

But I am spoiled and whiny - I don’t want to mess or think about groceries, making breakfast, trash, etc on vacation… so I’ve reverted back to my CL ways. 😂

Yeah, we really don't either! And my teenage nephews eat like crazy, I think the food bill is almost as much as the room (not quite, but they can pack away the food)! The AKL suggestion above might be a good compromise if it's available, though I'm not sure about the location. We have until August, so there is time. Thanks again for all your input!

Looking for some intel on anyone who has stayed in the King K suite at the Poly recently. I am trying to set my expectations for a mid-feb trip coming up. With room service seeming to still be on the outs, aside from a big room what else can I expect from staying in one of Disney's most expensive suites?

Hi - FYI, I pulled your post over into the CL thread as you’ll get better responses/info here.

I stayed there this past summer. If you search back to July or August on this thread you can find my pics, if interested. Forgive the hyperbole, but it is hands down one of the best suites on property. We can all argue about Disney changes, but they absolutely nailed the renovation, in my humble opinion.

Tonga normally has a small mini-lounge on the second floor that has light offerings relative to the larger CL lounge in the Hawaii longhouse. Right now that is not being offered, and TBD if that returns upon Poly CL’s reopening in Feb. I assume it will, but you just never know what they have in mind.

Tonga also normally has a dedicated CM at a desk by the main door - so far that has not been staffed either, but also TBD if that starts back when CL reopens.

The reason I’m hedging is that in this lack of CM environment I could see Disney maybe not bringing back the normal Tonga CL at first and instead using the Hawaii access as the CL part - but this is purely me speculating.

Other than that, as you said - you get a really big, expensive room - with no price difference if there is a CL component or not. :-)

YMMV but for us the small room fridge had some sodas/water stocked (only upon arrival, this wasn’t re-stocked daily).

They are doing daily full housekeeping for the suites, which is nice.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the thread move… :) long time lurker…

I guess it comes down to what Disney will bring back when the CL reopens. I am assuming the Room Service component will be missing for a while?

I am having a hard time justifying the cost to be honest… and already emailed the Dolphin and FS to see what their availability would be.

I travel quite a bit for work and used to staying at premium resorts. DW has always wanted to stay at the Poly so I kind of pulled all the stops out…

The last thing I have not figured out yet is what Signature Services actually does? Anyone?
