Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

T

Thanks for the thread move… :) long time lurker…

I guess it comes down to what Disney will bring back when the CL reopens. I am assuming the Room Service component will be missing for a while?

I am having a hard time justifying the cost to be honest… and already emailed the Dolphin and FS to see what their availability would be.

I travel quite a bit for work and used to staying at premium resorts. DW has always wanted to stay at the Poly so I kind of pulled all the stops out…

The last thing I have not figured out yet is what Signature Services actually does? Anyone?

With the caveat that things change all the time so the plan one week may not be the plan the next week, I did recently hear the the room service feature would not be offered until when/if room service returned to the resort as a whole.

With Poly CL currently scheduled to restart 2/3, you’re in the early days of Poly CL’s return. If this were me, I might be inclined to push back something big like a King K suite stay for another time when things with CL have a track record and you can assess the situation - unless the Feb timing just really fits your schedule. I also kinda like Tonga/Poly in the warmer weather months, but that’s splitting hairs a bit.

I’ve done FS a few times too (some of their suites aren’t exactly savings compared to King K especially if configuring the same 2-BR setup, although some definitely are if comparing a 1-BR setup). That’s sort of a different WDW experience/value proposition IMO.

Both are lovely though!

Sorry for rambling. Hope it’s helpful.

Unfortunately the schedule is a bit fixed… I could put off the King K and run with an alternative if I had to. Living overseas we do not make it to Disney that often as we did when we where living stateside.

I may look into keeping the CL for the first four days and then moving to the FS with a one bedroom suite and an extra room add-on.

They call me and tell me to use the app and check current info online.

I have been getting called these last few trips about 5 days prior.

That’s not a bad split. 4 nights in the King K is sort of enough to get to the been there/done that point, IMO.

Curious if you don’t mind me asking, have you stayed at the Orlando FS before?

What is a reasonable time frame to expect a return email from concierge services? We're staying at YC very soon and I had a few questions I needed assistance with.

Thanks, all! I didn't think so. It's the current debate here, book Club or a villa. Kids want the villa, adults Club. We shall see! :)

So we do a mix of CL stays and DVC. The way I look at it when we have a CL room is that the CL is kind of a big living room. Its really nice to have a separate space to go besides your room. Its an even bigger bonus that there's someone ready to get you drinks and snacks then clean up after you!

Just FYI on the DVC AKL CL rooms, there's 5 total so they are incredibly difficult to get, none are available for a cash reservation through WDW. The only way you could get these is to rent them from a DVC member that own at AKL and they will need to do it right at 11 months out.

I emailed them regarding allergies and I never heard back, so I ended up just calling them. After a short 3 hour hold, a polite CM assisted me. Definitely call if your trip is soon. Good luck and have fun!

Oh yikes! Thank you for the heads up; sort of frustrating to block off almost half a day. I have allergy questions as well.

Well, I sadly just cancelled our stay for YC CL reopening next week. I have several extended family members Covid + after we attended (ignoring all our instincts) a family wedding at which we were the only 6 guests out of 80 who wore masks. My mom is 89, very frail & at home in palliative care. We are with her 24/7. I have been with her almost daily because several of my siblings are now + or in quarantine. Today my DD doesn’t feel well after dining out at a popular restaurant Friday. 🤦🏻‍♀️ She spent the day with my DH yesterday while I was at work. DH & I just relaxed that we were in the clear from the wedding & now we have to wait to see how it plays out with DD. If she turns +, DH will have to quarantine per our county health dept guidelines.

There‘s just no way I can risk more exposure now. Or leave my recovering siblings or the other 2 who have been sharing care with me for the last week. I had great ADRs & was so excited to be there on reopening day. I’m consoling myself that at least I’m spending time with my mom. She was too frail to attend the wedding & I am so thankful we have still been able to keep her home & safe from Covid. YC CL will be there for our April trip.

I haven't found anything that Signature Services does now. Once you are there the CL staff with help with things but prior to the trip, they are really just sending guests to the website to do it themselves.

I am so sorry to hear that. I definitely understand though, with an 80 something chronically ill at risk mother myself. Family comes first. I hope everyone positive has a speedy recovery and everyone negative stays that way.

I have been for several dinners and events, but never stayed on property. I have stayed at a dozen or so FS properties around the world and they never disappoint.

my DW’s concern is around busses and getting to and from the parks. Hence the reasons we are staying at the Poly to begin with. On the FS website they say they are running every hour, are they a dedicated bus to each park? Or is it a round robin thing where they make a big loop and you are stuck on a bus forever?

I hope everyone recovers quickly. I'm sorry you had to cancel your trip but this time with your Mom is priceless ❤

For MK you can ride the monorail which comes every 5 mins or so. You can take the boat from polys boat dock; itgoes MK/gf/poly in a loop Every 20mins or so.
You can walk to TTC and take the mono to Epcot OR take the mono from poly all the way around to ttc and get off and get on Epcot mono. I prefer to just walk unless raining or very hot,
For HS, AK, DS and water parks the bus stop is to the left of main lobby facing front. Buses come more often at park opening but generally 10-25 mins . It’s hit or miss. Sometimes 2 show up then a gap for the next. Currently it is dedicated. You go from poly to the park. The name of the park is on the front of the bus. It’s easy to figure out which one. When leaving the parks they have a sign telling you which # bus stop for each resort.
*keep in mind if you see poly bus pull away and CR or GF bus pulls up sometimes it’s easier to just take that bus and mono or walk back to poly. I do this often.

Utilize the early entry, currently it’s 30 mins prior to park opening.

I’m so sorry!! Wishing everyone a rapid recovery. I totally understand wanting to protect your mom and would do the same. Hope you’re able to reschedule soon.

They actually had them available (at least a few) for cash when I was looking at rooms for my solo trip right after the discount drop. There was at least one available during one date range I was looking at, but when I went back later it had been snagged. I had never seen those rooms offered cash before, but it was there this time.

I am so sorry to hear this, but the good news is that there are more trips to come. Take care of yourself, and your mom! I'm taking to wearing a mask around my family since I have a trip to WDW in 2 weeks and they are all at school and work and could bring something home any day now. Also making my oldest DD wear a mask when she's out of her room because she decided to take her mask off at school yesterday and not put it back on. This is all so stressful, I think we're all just lucky when we end up actually getting to go on our trips right now.

Question for the Club regulars - what form of transportation do you use from MCO (Orlando) airport to WDW resorts? We normally used Magical Express, but wondering if Uber might be a better option?

thanks
