Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Yeah, so you're closer to EWR automatically.

I've lived in Bed-Stuy since moving here in 2006. Sold my car before moving up here (Teaching Fellows...so we were expected to survive on a $1500 stipend FOR THE SUMMER - my car, my furniture, and a little help from my dad is how I survived!) and never looked back. I love my G-train!! And I walk pretty much anywhere within like a 2 mile radius - which is why distances at WDW resorts seem like child's play to me. LOL.
Lol it doesn't pay driving in many parts of the city. I drive 6 blocks here but when I'm in Manhattan or parts of Brooklyn I think nothing of walking a mile and think that's close. Are you a DOE fellow? I work for the doe too.

Sorry for adding to the OT conversation, but have they made any construction progress at LGA during the pandemic?

Haven’t really missed traveling to that airport, if I’m honest. Sorry!

I keep having dreams that when I do eventually fly to LGA, the disaster that was the Delta terminal pre-pandemic will magically be done. :rotfl:

No clue! We won't even look at flights out of LGA . We had credit to use once and my husband made us drive to Philly to avoid LGA lol. We drove to the Trenton airport once. Craziest thing I ever saw. We were parked about 6 cars from the entrance. 2 floors and only 1 flight at a time. You check in upstairs then go downstairs. We walked outside to get on the plane. Only 1 gate, 1 waiting area and 1 place to eat/drink. The pilot came in for a soda🤣

AMEN! I keep seeing people say "Airlines are adding flights!" but not from what I'm finding. My United flight to Disney in July has been fairly stable - only one change on each flight that were not major - but I'm flying American to Nashville in August to visit my parents. I'm in NYC, so I can do JFK (preferred), EWR (less perferred), or LGA (last resort at the moment...MAYBE when their construction and AirTrain gets done it'll move up).

The August flight changed once - to Nashville went from a 6am-something non-stop to a 12:55pm nonstop, then the earliest; flight back changed to a later departure but a connection through Charlotte. Then this week I happened to check it (I usually check once a week but had forgotten to for a few weeks) and the 12:55pm flight had changed to a 4:55pm flight! Which had become the earliest non-stop!! That took a whole day away with my parents, which was NOT cool. I called and while I was on hold for 2 hours looked at my options so I could make it easier on the agent. Finally got it changed to a super-early flight out of EWR (5am!!) connecting through CLT to get there. The return flight thus far has stayed the same since its last change. Best part is they had yet to email me about it - and I know it had been changed a while because usually when it's in process it will give me a "Flights have changed, check back later for changes" but this time it was already done.

So yeah...DEFINITELY check your flights regularly!! I'll even be checking my return flights while I'm on my Disney and family trips to make sure they don't change mid-trip!
oh yeah, they never email you.

They have done some. From what I walked through around Christmas to get to the ghetto gates in American's terminal it will look nice if they ever get it done.

Nice! I knew I liked you 🤣 I'm an elementary school counselor. Primarily special ed but I have a feeling I will be very busy next year. I've been in person all year and it's been quite challenging as you know.

We are traveling to Aruba with friends. I get emails of the changes and she gets nothing. Same flights 🤷‍♀️

Yeah, I've been in person too. "Zoned" for 12:1:1 - but I only had 8 tops in my room (one went to Ohio early to be with dad - she usually goes for the summer - and before that, another who should never have been in a class with that first one was shifted to another class when even admin could not chill the two of them out together). Currently 6 - all of whom are going to middle school in the fall. And I'll change my zoning to 6:1:1.

Salute to counselors!!! <3

I ❤ our self contained teachers. Very difficult but rewarding job.

How did the steaks compare to Yachtsman? My kids are obsessed with I and I hope they reopen soon. Glad to hear you enjoyed it too since steak was my concern. We ate at le celier in march and they hated the steak. It was really seared and my 16 yo said Applebee's steak is better 🤣
It’s been a while since I had the Yachtsman steak, but I think the meats there more stand on there own. The sauces and butters, etc are what made the CG steak so good. I will say that my DH’s filet was better than my ribeye, but I think it’s just that I ordered a fattier cut. Next time I’d stick to the filet and just ask to change out the sides if I didn’t like them.
Funny that you mentioned LeCeiler bc we had an ADR there that we went back & forth on bc I’d heard of some people saying the steak wasn’t that great, etc. We ended up swapping it for GG —my DH wasn’t happy—but sounds like we made the right decision.

Anyone going via United Airlines 50th weekend, United just adjusted their schedule. Two of my flights were cancelled and rebooked so check your itinerary and make sure you have the flights you want. I had to call to change to the flights I wanted because I'm using points and the points needed have gone way up. Waited on hold for 1 hour late last night.

*It was good news for me because I booked flights because they were the cheapest points value at the time. Then they let me change (1x for free) to my preferred flight. If you try to do it yourself it rebanks your points and charges the new points value. First thing the rep said to me was, 'did you change anything yet?'
We are flying in the saturday before from Philly on AA and our flight was cancelled and we were moved 3 hours later.

Another fellow NYer! Originally from the Bronx but living out on Long Island now. We have McArthur airport 10 mins away which I love but they only fly Southwest (and Frontier which is basically not even worth mentioning) and their flights for January are not out until September. It’s killing me.

This is our last full day for this trip (staying at BWV). Already planning our next trip and checked the pricing for BWI staying CL, as it’s been my hands down favorite in the past. My husband asked when we checked in if ”that room with the food” was available. I told him no, but I’d be sure to book it next time. The only things I’d change about this trip (besides booking CL if it were available) is the park reservation system, which I absolutely despise, and I’d book a longer stay just to have more down time.

Hopefully there is some progress. My nephew is working on the construction. They didn’t stop for the pandemic.

Curious as to why you really don't like the current reservation system. As AP holders, we park hop. Full disclosure that we haven't been there since 12/2019 but isn't this park system kinda like the fast pass stuff? Meaning we booked fast passes, which told us what park we had to go to. Currently, do you have to have a park reservation every day or can you wing it until 2pm and then go wherever you want? We're big EPCOT drop in people...a moments notice to get a drink or snack, etc. Just curious...not trying to argue..just trying to understand. As things stand today, I really don't see us going back until everything is back to "normal":)

You need a park reservation to hop. And you must tap into that park before you can hop to another park.

The reason I also despise it is that you really have to have park availability showing before you can even think about booking other stuff. Then if you change your mind about anything that concerns park availability, you have to have that alternate park available to change to. Split stays, regular stays, ADRs, etc are all affected if you cannot get a particular park when you want it.

AP holders without a resort reservation can make 3 park pass reservations and then must use one before they can make another. Changing your mind is from the before times. (also having a mind)

How it works:

  • We will set specific Park Hopper hours during which this option are available. Park Hopper hours will start at 2 PM each day and end at the park’s scheduled close time. Guests are now able to check the Park Hours calendar and the My Disney Experience app for the most up-to-date Park Hopper hours, as they could start earlier at a later date, depending on the day and park.
  • With the updated Park Hopper experience, Guests must make a Disney Park Pass reservation for the first park they plan to visit AND enter that first park prior to visiting another. At this time, a park reservation is not required after the first park, however, reservation requirements are subject to change.
  • Reservations for dining experiences, droid workshop and other pre-booked experiences do not guarantee access to a park, and Park Hopper availability may change daily. We recommend Guests book in-park dining and other experiences at the park where they have a Disney Park Pass reservation. Guests can make dining reservations or add their party to the walk-up list at select table-service restaurants via the My Disney Experience app after they enter the second park, subject to availability.
Please note that the ability to visit another park will be subject to the park’s capacity limitations. In the event that the Park Hopper option is unavailable at a theme park, Guests will be notified in real time via a push notification from the My Disney Experience app.

----That last bullet point really forces guests to limit their park choices. If you have a dinner ADR at whichever park you are basically forced to choose that as your park pass day and will probably not have time to hop later.

To add to what @Eastern said above, there is no “change park reservation” option either. If you decide you want to try & change your park reservation, either in advance or day of, you must first cancel your existing reservation & then try to book your new park. And the reservation calendar is not kept up to date in real time. So if you cancel an existing reservation, you are taking a gamble on getting the new park or ending up with nothing. Park reservations have been full up to 2 months ahead for some parks for resort & day guests. So there is no change in the spur of the moment, “hey let’s pop into Epcot for a snack,” “It’s too hot for Epcot let’s go to MK”; “the kids really want to see the animals again, let’s go to AK tomorrow instead” anymore. If your park reservation is at Epcot, but you find a l12:30 ADR at CRT, too bad. You can’t go til 2 pm & only after you tap into Epcot first.

With FP & ADRs, there were change options. You could change your park the day of & cancel your other fastpasses & take what you could get at the new park. Or even just do stand by lines. This is just not a guest friendly system. It is for Disney scheduling.
