Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Pre packaged snacks with no buffets is what I've been hearing. This definitely is not the concierge experience I want or am willing to pay a fortune for.

I‘ll have to track this one. Unless the prepacked food is coming from California Grill (and it wont be), this won’t fly. Hopefully these plans change in the Fall/Winter. Chapek himself spoke to full capacity by then...but then again he also claimed they weren’t having any trouble hiring people back..

When I booked CR Club the CM said food will be served by a CM behind plexiglass and there will also be prepackaged food. They will only allow so many people at a time and anyone trying to come in while the max that is allowed, will be put in a queue. He didn’t mention anything about FP. This is what he was told, so who knows if that is all true.
Now, I am not going until Aug. ‘22…..so who knows what it will be like by then.
Wow...I would be ticked if I paid rack rate for CL for the 50th and then couldn't get into the lounge! We stayed at the Ritz CL in Orlando after leaving GF on June 1st, and they were already back to self serve! No masks were required for those vaccinated, although staff were still wearing them. They also had housekeeping and turndown with chocolates lol. Come on Disney! I don't expect the three full meals per day and superior wine/alcohol selection at Disney CL since Disney beats Ritz on location, but how long is Disney going to keep making excuses for their poor service while keeping prices so high?!

Yes and if people are willing to pay, D
Either they released more availability or someone cancelled as RPC standard is now available at rack rate.....total for the 4 nights is $5969....just under $1500/nt :faint:. I agree that as long as people are willing to pay those rates, Disney will keep charging those rates. As much as I love RPC, no way I'd spend that much!
I agree with so much of what is being posted right now. I am unfortunately one of those who can't stay away from Disney :confused3, but I can stay away from these crazy "envelope-pushing" rates (love that phrase someone used). I will choose a resort I can afford and will resist the urge to book CL.
We all know worth is subjective, and Disney is a business, but the insane rates and declining perks don't work for me.
My hope is that enough people refuse to book so that Disney backs off and offers some better discounts (AP here and STILL waiting for discounts beyond the current ones...and come on, something more than 25%!!)

Wow. That sounds really nice. Can you tell us more about your ritz stay. For the first time ever I’ve been considering moving off property to get that type of resort stay. How is it getting to the parks from there?

This will be a CL killer for us. In the back of my mind I still feel that the CL we know and love won't be back until 2022. I hope I'm wrong, but with vaccine hesitancy, there will be an uptick in cases as the weather cools and people go back inside.

Same. If this is what it looks like (at these prices) I’ll be canceling what I booked for sure. Then we will either make our own CL with some delivery service or stay off property at Waldorf or Ritz (I bet their CL is solid - unsure about transportation tho).

I have 3 nights RPC for the 50th at rack and no real hope of a discount, I am willing to pay it only because we are celebrating a big anniversary...a year late because we had to cancel last year. I will not pay that if CL is not back to something resembling what it was pre covid. Why can't they just plate the food like the Poly does? :confused3 I don't mind being served by a CM but will not pay that rate for prepackaged food. I added 3 nights GV before our RPC stay with the summer discount. RPC is more than double that rate, we could stay 7 nights for less than 3 RPC. I will cancel if it looks like RPC will be prepackaged food and a wait to get in the lounge, unless they lower the rate considerably.

Yep - this is where it becomes more about money and what they can get away with while people still pay normal rates, as other properties are operating their CL seamlessly. I mean they hit their lower capacity numbers pushing everyone in DVC resorts without housekeeping & few restaurants open for the last year+… We’ll be watching this one closely as well.

Ritz CL was supposed to be a couple of days of park recovery/vacation from our vacation and to get our CL fix since Disney didn't have anything then. We did spend the first day at the beautiful lazy river that is shared between Ritz and JW Marriott, but we couldn't resist going back to one of the parks the next day lol. There is a Hertz rental car at the JW next door, and the two hotels are connected. We took a toll road to get to AK and it was actually less than 15 minutes from parking lot to parking lot. We used a car service to get to the Ritz from GF and they took I-4 and it took a lot longer! Perhaps time of day might make some difference too. I'm not going to lie, Ritz is missing the Disney magic, but we had already had some. You could see Disney Springs in the distance from the CL lounge, but that was about it because it was close to Sea World. However, the CL at Ritz was amazing! The lounge was recently redone. They had a huge drink area with two beverage refrigerators filled with things like White Claw, craft and local brews, little bottles of cocktails sold at the bar downstairs as well as sodas and juices. The wine fridge (4 whites, 4 reds) was separate, and the champagne was on ice beside that. They had one of the fancy coffee machines that makes lattes, mochas, etc there too. There was one buffet area that was for cool items like fruit in the morning and salad bar for lunch and dinner, and there was another buffet area for hot items that also had breads/meats in the morning and cheeses at night. the lunch was more sandwiches for people on the go and it was great because they had to go boxes and drink caddies so you could pack up a lunch/drinks for the pool. They even had bakery style bags so you could take muffins, etc. As for alcoholic beverages, they only put out cordials in the evening with desserts, but they could get you pretty much any liquor you wanted anytime...Crown Royal, Grey Goose, etc. They even hand mixed a whiskey sour for my husband one night and garnished it with an orange wedge and a cherry lol. I should mention that tipping is definitely allowed here! They had a separate area with self serve Manhattans too (out of a barrel lol). Don't get me wrong, nothing offsite will ever be able to replace the feeling you get from being "in the bubble" but things at Disney are not what they were right now so Ritz is a nice option to consider. Personally, I think it is better for a shorter stay before or after a Disney hotel stay, but I might change my mind depending on what happens at Disney going forward.

I hope enough people feel this way so that Disney gets the message they just can't continue to cut services and offerings and not at least reflect it in the pricing. In this case, they're raising them! I have no problem with a change from buffet to service, but my guess is that's just for hot foods in the evening. And to have to wait in line just to go into the lounge is nothing I'm dealing with. If it's not safe enough to open completely then maybe just wait until it is because brown bagging it is not concierge level service.

yeah I have CR CL for 3 nights during the 50th with no expectation of a discount at this point. If I had to do it over again I would have booked garden wing. I still may change if there is availability in the future. I like CL but I do have a limit and it has officially been reached.

I have 3 days at BWI and 3 days CR, mainly for the ability to walk to parks. I just priced out GF outer building for 6 nights, with the 25% and it is about $800 cheaper, but with the ability to walk to all of our scheduled parks during a busy week I am going to pay the price.

The next time we go I am expecting that it will be POFQ because these deluxe prices are out of line.

I'm sorry, but prepackaged food and putting people into a queue to wait to be able to enter the lounge is not acceptable at the prices Disney is charging. This will be very sad if it's true.

I agree!

We just returned from 2 nights CL at HRH at Universal and while they did have CMs serving food in the lounge, there was no limit of people in the lounge and no masks were required anywhere (not even inside the lounge, shops, etc). Water/pop/juice was self serve from the fridge. We didn't have housekeeping, but I was fine with that as we were only there 2 nights.

The Ritz sounds amazing, thanks for your detailed post! I've looked at the Ritz and JW Marriott and both look beautiful and the pool/lazy river looks fun! Your review is making me look a little more at the Ritz, especially CL.

I couldn't agree more!

The CM member told me that a CM will serve you food behind the plexiglass but there will be prepackaged food also. So the CM won’t be serving you prepackaged food If this is true.
we don’t go until Aug.2022, so I’m hoping it changes back to pre Covid days especially at the price I paid for the MK view.

You have to start posting here the minute you know whats going on so we all still have time to book an offsite stay lol.

I’m wondering what you all think of Grand Destino Club? I’m currently booked at YC and hopeful for CL for our trip Oct 2022. Our adult boys (25/29) still like us enough to want to be with us and are joining our trip so that means we require 2 rooms! YC rack rate/ non club rooms for our 6 nights are costing me $680’ish right now and I can only imagine what CL will add to the total! For 6 nights with 5 day park hopper tickets I’m sitting around $6,100 at YC non club level for 1 room. Double that for our boys room and that’s $12,000! We could do Grand Destino Tower club level for $5,000 each…. Saving about $2,000 right now and when CL comes back to YC I’m betting it’ll be another $2,000 on top of our current non club rate!
So…. Is it worth holding out for YC CL and paying those high prices for location and CL….. or would you consider GDT CL a decent 2nd plan to consider??? I’m so torn because as 4 adults we ℒℴ𝓋ℯ the location of YC , the walkability, the friendship boats, our favourite restaurant (yachtmans) and so many other dining choices close by at Epcot… the pool…. So many pluses for YC! It’s just the price that’s hard for me to swallow!

I think I'm feeling good about all my AP discounts right now. My goodness. I stayed RPC, in a deluxe king on a solo trip (in a turette room with views of both MK and Epcot fireworks) for just a little over $600 a night. The most I've spent on any non-multi room suite/villa is only slightly over $700 and that was the garden cottage room I had last year at BWI. I love CL but will NEVER pay rack rate for it, ever. Those prices online that you find are not worth it, I would never go by that as an indication on what most people pay to stay CL. Of course if most people want to think I have that much money then they are more than welcome to think that :rotfl2:
I’m wondering if it’s worth me buying 1 annual pass for me to get at least a discount on 1 room / I am not sure could I also add my AP discount to my boys’ room (needing to book 2 rooms for our trip) the CL and rack prices are making my head spin! I’m looking for rooms for oct 2022.
Can I add a dining plan if I have the AP and am not making my stay a “package”?
