Just got a survey about my upcoming CL stay in October. I let them know that if CL was not open, I would most likely be canceling my trip. Trying to make our voices heard.
[/QUOTE]Club level closing is due to the pandemic. I am assuming that Disney does not want people drinking and eating in close quarters in a small lounge area. I will also assume that Disney does not want to monitor every breakfast, snack and light dinner option to see if adults and children are gathering every food, utensils, plates properly.
Is the club level suspension due to staffing? Other hotels seem to be running breakfast buffets etc now.
Actually it is about food at this point. The CL lounges don't make all their own food. They need the central kitchens open and the other resort restaurants open that the CL sources many of their food offerings. At this point it’s more about the financials and staffing.

At this point only the YC could maybe get by with limited food offerings in CL given the current open dining options available to source food.
I would not expect CL to return until the majority of the dining options return to a resort that offers CL service.

All good points. My DH and I were just discussing the staffing issues Disney is likely going to have in order to get everything up and running! My DH said his company cannot hire enough people to work at all of their factories, and they pay much better than Disney! I have noticed that FedEx has been advertising like crazy too , so I'm very concerned that a lot of the former Disney staff may have moved on to other (higher paying) jobs! DH did say Disney restarted the college program , so let's hope they can take care of some of the staffing issues that way!Actually it is about food at this point. Totally agree...No-Tong-Timmy is the one thing I dislike about CL.I've been there many times and have seen not just children, but GROWN ADULTS, not using utensils to pick up food, sticking their hands in to grab a fistful of goldfish crackers, and on.... a lot of people can't behave so I think they would have to monitor it for now.
Haven't done club level before, but am considering it if they bring it back. Seems like "wear a mask, come get food and drink, eat it in your room/outside" would be a good way to bring back Club Level once they get the food/staffing issues sorted out. What do you guys think that have done it before? Would you choose CL if this was the case?
I think indoor masking will be the last Covid thing to go.
I would easily take this over no CL. Although, with a larger family one of the biggest perks to CL was the extra space in the lounge for us to spread out a bit. But, it would be a start.Haven't done club level before, but am considering it if they bring it back. (I meant non-Disney hotels)There are NO buffets open on Disney property. The meals that had been buffet are family-style.
Yeah, that is gross. I was a germaphobe pre-covid and have a hard time with that kind of thing!!!I've been there many times and have seen not just children, but GROWN ADULTS, not using utensils to pick up food, sticking their hands in to grab a fistful of goldfish crackers, and on.... a lot of people can't behave so I think they would have to monitor it for now.
Did Disney cancel the reservation?well, just lost our yacht club club level for our June stay. got a rack rate for the WV WC room (the standard rooms were discounted but I booked 2022 instead of 2021) but no guarantee we'll get the 5th floor wheelchair access water view. just can't justify the $2300 extra cost when they can't guarantee that fifth floor room when all the other WV WC standard rooms are booked. So we are moving to the cabins at FW. full kitchen so we can really make our own club level. Someday we may return to Club level but I am really soured on Disney hotels right now. FW is looking better all the time with our own RV for all our trips. we can stay longer for the same price as a week. just don't get as spoiled, maybe that's a good thing
They called and said they were moving it from club level to WV WC acces regular room no club. I asked about staying in the room and he said no guarantee we could be put anywhere. All the WV WC regular rooms are booked so we could end up anywhere while someone else gets the fifth floor room close to the elevator. I let them do their thing and called and canceled the room and transferred the deposit to a cabin I had already booked because after my experience in Nov 2020 knew this would happen I asked about staying where I was originally booked and he said he couldn’t do that. I was at the mercy of the room blockers.Did Disney cancel the reservation?
Did they tell you what the new price would be? I am curious how they are discounting to regular rooms when the CL rate was originally paid. They called and said they were moving it from club level to WV WC acces regular room no club. I was at the mercy of the room blockers.. Just not the customer service I had come to expect before 2020 from Disney. Very disappointed they didn’t try and do more although not sure what they could do
just think we are done with the deluxe hotel scene for a while
